The last 2 seasons the 3 players played against each other in competition when playing for Lokeren, Brugge and Gent . As far as I know it's difficult to compare their skills, they play in different positions . If I am well informed Jeffrey had a selection for a Belgian National Youthteam and refused the selection with the hope to play for the Philippines one day .

True, either way it can't but help having these kids around. I'm truly looking forward to seeing these kids play either in the LT or SEAG or maybe both.

For those of you wondering why JVB and Angelo V isn't on his clubs website as a player, read on. Here is a PM from a good friend. I hope he doesn't mind:
no statistics for angelo and jacques this season, both players coming back from injury . last game jacques played was end july, playing as central attacker and scored a goal before falling out with a quadriceps injury . His new team Wetteren, where he played before, wants to try him again as an attacking player . He used to play attack before being transferred to Lokeren, in that position he was asked by 4 first division teams . Angelo and Jeffrey originally played both for Deinze, at that time 2nd divison before going to Brugge en Zulte Waregem

@jacques Van Bossche: I got a feeling its going to be my last year in belgium Let the speculation begin! Another Fil-Euro going back to the mother country and playing in the Philippines? If so, the Center Back position of the National Team just got a little better not to mention a tougher UFL!

Hmm... I think if ever he's going to play in the UFL, he'll be suiting up for Global (Dan Palami has been good at inviting our foreign based players to his team.). I wish he can stay at Belgium for a few more years so he can develop his game but this will definitely be a boost for the development of the UFL and the U-23 squad.

Like Jeffrey Christiaens, I think I should let him stay in Belgium. But if he wants to improve the development of our league and the U-23 squad, why not?

Yes, if he can't find a team in Belgium and decides to play here, it would definitely be a win-win for him and the UFL/National team. He'll still be in match condition and hopefully the new coach for our youth team (Hey Wiking, no word yet on who will be taking over for the helm at the Hassanal Bolkiah Cup?) will take advantage of the availability of the young ones and set-up regular trainings.

Hi cb3, they started training today(as per their schedule), I think there is a coach now but it hasn't been widely disseminated. Maybe some other member would know? I'll try to find out...
Seriously how about copying what Malaysia has done with Harimau Muda their U team that is in the S Leagues, but in a smaller scale. Picture this:
Our U23, 21, 19 in a single team in either 1 or 2 Div of the UFL. With maybe a few slightly overage players for stiffening(example: Oliver P, Jerry Barbaso, Basa or any 23 or 24 yo player who could play with the NT). Make it a professional format, as in pay them a proper salary and have them do this all the time for team familiarity and cohesiveness. Also have a coach who actually knows what he's doing(whether local or foreign).
Just a thought...
lastly, I agree, Jeff C and JvB should remain in Belgium but if they get to be "big fish in a small pond" in the Philippines who's to stop them? To put a positive spin on it, at least they would be available for NT duties anytime. That can't be bad for Philippine football.
ADD: Ok, still no coach(for U21) according to one source, I'm still looking to find out more...
