I will burst the bubble of everyone. With what I'm seeing today... this will not happen. Wag kayong umasa for Brazil 2016 when our football management cannot even hire a dedicated scouting agent. And we can even dominate Southeast Asia. Tone down your expectations people. Kungsabagay... libre naman mangarap. Sorry, I'm just being realistic here. I still believe that Dan Palami will convince Ignacio, Guerra, Esswein, Ingreso, Holtom and Takahashi to play for the Youth team of the Philippines in various future youth competitions in preparation for the 2015 AFC under-22 competition.

Why even bother trying to burst bubbles? This is football, the sport of dreams, the beautiful game. The ball is round, etc etc etc. It's fair to be realistic, of course. But if we don't keep competing in every qualifier we can compete in, we don't dream. We don't aspire for greater things. Sure, we probably won't qualify but there's always that chance. We absolutely should try to go to the Olympics. There's no reason we shouldn't. If anything, it's to gauge where we are and where we should improve. Games involving football and the Philippines? I'd watch that any day, win or lose. Because I was there at those dark times when there were no such games to watch. Sad to say, it's looking like we can't even compete in the SEA Games because the PSC and POC are being "realistic" and only want to compete in sports where medals are assured. F---ing STUPID for the organization tasked to promote our national athletes. They're saying, "if you can't win, don't bother trying". They might even pull this stunt for the Olympics. So if we do get that chance, we really should count our blessings for simply being able to participate now.

I think the biggest hurdle isn't organizing the team. It's the Filipino sports committee and their "amazing" ways of shunting the football team from other competitions.

If PSC(Filipino Sports Committee) does not take action this will be all just a dream.. You know,if the PSC will continue shutting the azkals from competitions like SEA games. Might as well we should do the funding for the azkals as fans ourselves. I could donate my own money,(even though I'm not rich) just to have the azkals gain experience from matches and reach the next level.

I coached Neil Ignacio on my club team and he would love to play for the Azkals again. College is a big issue over here in the US with players getting the time to travel and play. I'm actually going to speak with Neil tomorrow regarding his college team and future Azkal opportunities.
Regards

Actually, the funding for the SEA Games football teams would have come from the PFF and its partner sponsors. The teams would have been fully self-funded, actually. Which makes the actions of the PSC and POC all the more deplorable.

In 2008, Smart Gilas Pilipinas of basketball was created for the main purpose of qualifying for 2012 London Olympics, so I'm thinking why not do the same for football. As early as this year, why not the PFF create a pool of football players(wishful thinking) born before January 1, 1993 and also invite Filipinos playing outside the Philippines in their off-season to train with other players in the pool. Squad is to consist of eighteen players, of which no more than three may be born before 1 January 1993. I hope the PFF management will invite this players in the off-season to come to the Philippines. There is a small chance that Luke Woodland will don the colors of our country since England youth team are high on him, maybe Takahashi for the other CB position.. Michael Kempter of FC Zürich II for the Left Back position..

I will add Yuji Takahashi to this squad and for the Senior Players, my choices are Cagara, Schrock, Manny Ott or Patino.. Michael Kempter for Kevin Esswein in LM position, Daisuke Sato in LB position and Takahashi for Holtom in CB position..
