FT Philippines 7-2 Fiji
Annis, Castaneda and Quezada had 2 goals each. Lone goal by Randle.
Fil Australian teenager Chantelle Maniti makes her debut.
My guess is Fontanilla or Palacios will start in goal in the 2nd game between the 2 teams.

They've got to play better teams than this to prepare for the World Cup.

FT Philippines 8-0 Fiji
Hat trick by Katrina Guillou. Birthday girl Carleigh Frilles scored 2 goals.
The 2nd match between the 2 teams was very similar to the first game except that the Philippines didn't give any room for Fiji to score in the 2nd half.
There are apparently a couple more friendly matches lined up in the next few weeks as part of the Filipinas preparation for the SEA Games in May as mentioned during the live telecast.

The 16-0 margin is the biggest win in Philippine women's national football team history.
I am not sure what the Philippines gets from matches like these in preparation for the SEA Games where the competition is much stronger, but at least during halftime they did say that they had scrimmages against Australian club teams as well.
The only international caliber team Tonga has played in recent years was in the 2018 OFC Women's Nations Cup when they lost to New Zealand 0-11.

Really? Does that really help them prepare? Another failure of management to negotiate quality teams?

The Filipinas are currently participating in the SEA Games but they already have some friendlies lined up in Europe: “So far, our friendlies are set for the women’s team on June 16 in Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the 24th and the 26th. Preparation namin yan sa AFF Championship and the Asian Games in September,” Araneta revealed. www.manilastandard.net/sports/314226183/good-luck-pilipinas.html

The Philippine Women’s National Football Team’s preparations for the upcoming 2022 AFF Women’s Championship are in full swing. The Philippine Football Federation announced Thursday evening that 28 players have been called for the Filipinas’ upcoming friendlies against Ireland and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Olivia McDaniel, Kiara Fontanilla, and Inna Palacios remain the goalkeepers for the team. When it comes to the defense, Hali Long, Dominique Randle, Maya Alcantara, Ryley Bugay, Isabella Flanigan, Catherine Graversen, Chantelle Maniti, Eva Madarang, Sofia Harrison, and Tara Shelton will compete for a spot in the backline. Skipper Tahnai Annis leads the charge for the midfielders. Other players who will fight for a slot in the middle of the park are Anicka Castaneda, Malea Cesar, Jessika Cowart, Sara Eggsvik, Carleigh Frilles, Katrina Guillou, Kaya Hawkinson, Jessica Miclat, Cam Rodriguez, and Jaclyn Sawicki. In terms of the forwards, Sarina Bolden, Shai del Campo, Quinley Quezada, and Alyssa Jane Ube will be expected to put the ball at the back of the net. Coach Alen Stajcic’s wards shall go up against Ireland on June 19 while they will face Bosnia on June 23 and 26. tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/filipinas-keep-core-for-friendlies-vs-ireland-bosnia/242807A few new faces including some with European professional experience(Cowart, Eggesvik and Graversen) although I am disappointed that England's U23 player Mayumi Pacheco is still not available. I also hope they would invite in the future a few Fil Am players from US NCAA Division 1 powerhouse Stanford U including Maya Doms who has played for multiple US national youth teams, Ayson and Pagador. They are teammates of Fil Australian Amy Sayer who was invited to play for Australia in the upcoming AFF Women's Championship.

None of the newcomers are playing and they are missing their best player Guillou who plays in Sweden. It looks like Staj is experimenting with trying out backup Fontanilla as starting goalkeeper. She also was fielded against Australia in the Asian Cup and played well against them.

FT Ireland 1-0 Philippines
FT Ireland 1-0 Philippines
Should have been 0-0 though. Quezada slipped while clearing the ball allowing an open lane to an Irish player to score a goal up close.
They also had their chances to score from 20 y.o. youngster Frilles but she was just wide off the mark.
Still a respectable margin against a team ranked 26 slots ahead of them in the FIFA ranking.
It was a decent performance by the Philippines. Despite the higher ranked opponent they were playing today they didn't sit back and park the bus.
They played normally and fought and tried to keep possession of the ball.
They also had their chances on offence which showed they were trying to win it while at the same time for the most part playing solid defence.
The only goal they gave up came as a result of an error by one of the players when she slipped and fell.

Bosnia and Herzegovina WNT 0-3 Philippines WNT Sarina Bolden netted two goals as the Philippine Women’s National Team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina, 3-0, in their friendly match last Thursday 23 June 2022 at the Matija Gubec Stadium in Krsko, Slovenia. The forward found the back of the net in the 39th and 82nd minutes as the Filipinas continued their preparations for the AFF Women’s Championship 2022 which will be held in Manila from 04-17 July 2022. Tara Shelton, who started the match, fired from just outside the box to put the Philippines ahead in the opening seven minutes of the match. The defender found enough composure to send the ball in to the top corner after a failed clearance from the Bosnia and Herzegovina defense. Bolden made it 2-0 with six minutes left in the half. Hali Long launched a long ball towards the Bosnian box and found Katrina Guillou, who flicked it into the path of Bolden, who was onside to convert from close range. The forward netted her second in the final ten minutes of the match. Off the pass from the debuting Sara Eggesvik, Bolden made run to the box then rifled in a left footed shot towards the near post to complete the scoreline. The Philippines take on the same opposition again on Sunday, 26 June 2022 before flying back to Manila for the AFF Women’s Championship pff.org.ph/2022/06/24/bosnia-and-herzegovina-wnt-0-3-philippines-wnt/?fbclid=IwAR1eB0npSryV0cT_T72LoRKtb8MpAEaZdQRxnDxfbUnMrdyA7iSuNw83kMA
