Now Im confused on who is playing ang who is not for the Malaysian game.
I know Niel, PHY & JHY cannot play. Now this news from Mr. Liimpag came out about Aly Borromeo, Jason Sabio, Lexton Moy also cannot play. Do you guys have the official list/roster on who will play? specially those players who are based abroad. There is a "official" list for the training camp in Bacolod. I dont even think that one is complete. I doubt we will get a roster for Malaysia friendly until the training camp in Bacolod is finished ?

The PFF, despite their "officially released" rosters leave much to be desired. Case in point the AFC CC. They had Angelo Verheye on that list without him even flying to Nepal, and this was in their "official" roster.
Anyway, good update Jonny at least Ray Jonsson and Ott is in there.
Question though: Ray has games in June will Grindavik let him go?; Manny Ott's contract has been renewed so hopefully its a for sure thing he'll be in the June games.

Here's what jonny posted Azkals stay solid sans key playersBy Olmin Leyba (The Philippine Star) Updated May 20, 2012 12:00 AM Comments (0) View comments Manila, Philippines - Philippine men’s football team coach Michael Weiss believes the Azkals will be able to form a pretty solid side against Malaysia in their coming Fifa friendly despite the absence of key players Neil Etheridge (suspension) and Phil and James Younghusband (previous commitment). Weiss said four Fil-Germans who missed the Azkals’ bronze medal campaign in the AFC Challenge Cup will be on hand to reinforce Phl XI for the June 1 match against host Malaysia. They are midfielder Stephan Schröck of Bundesliga first division squad TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, midfielder Manny Ott of Ingolstadt II, striker Denis Wolf of 1. FC Magdeburg, and keeper Roland Müller of MSV Duisburg. The Azkals mentor is also excited with the entry of homegrown custodian Patrick Deyto of UFL side Green Archers United Globe. “We’ll have Schröck coming over, Ott coming over, Wolf probably playing on top and Müller will be in goal. We’ve also invited a new talent from Green Archers, a very promising Filipino keeper, Patrick Deyto, “ Weiss said in an interview on “The Football Connection” radio program yesterday. “We have a good, wide variety between the post and other positions; we have a bigger pool where we can easily swap players and then give others a chance. It will test Muller in a good competition and we’ll see how Wolf will harmonize with Schröck and Ott. We’ll have a very good team,” he added. Etheridge will serve a one-game suspension for “violating” Article 57 of the AFC Disciplinary Code while watching on the sidelines the Azkals’ Challenge Cup third-place match against Palestine last March 19 in Nepal while the Younghusbands have a previous commitment that conflicts with the friendly in Kuala Lumpur. Etheridge, and Phil and James will be rejoining the Azkals in their next two matches, against Indonesia on June 5 in Manila and versus Guam on June 12 in Bacolod. Weiss said more reinforcements are due after the Malaysia fixture, with fancied Fil-Dutch Dennis Cagara of FSV Frankfurt and Jerry Lucena of AGF Aarhus planing in. “I expect the team to be very strong against Indonesia because all the players will be at that match,” said Weiss, thrilled with the prospect of assembling “probably one of the strongest lineups Phl has ever seen.” The core of the Azkals, those who are based in Phl like Chieffy Caligdong, Angel Guirado, and Carli de Murga along with young prospects, will go on a training camp in San Carlos City on May 21-24 to be followed by a similar session in Bacolod on May 25-28. Two exhibition matches are being arranged for the camp designed to kick off the Azkals’ preparations for the three international friendlies. www.philstar.com/SportsArticle.aspx?articleId=808873&publicationSubCategoryId=69
Why also them? - For Cagara, don't know if FSV will extend his contract. Contract expires on June 30, 2012
- Lucana's team, AGF's last game is on May 24, 2012. So he can come to MAS game. Don't know what's behind his not availability for MAS game
- Ray Jonsson has a game on June 3, Don't know if he will be allowed by Grindavik
- Muller's MSV Duisburg II also has a game on June 3 but he will miss that game due to his commitment to the PHI games MSV given him clearance to play for us. Hope also for Ray Jonsson in his team.
For June 1, it might be a full teeth MAS Tigers against a less tooth PHI Azkals. Let's hope for miracle like what happened to Etheridge in Challenge Cup. At first he's not available but days before the Challenge he was available.
Predict your score for this game For me, I think it's a draw. if we have this line-up or there's also possibility we could lose due to MAS full force and home court advantage

Malaysia are very strong at home with even a lesser team. Azkals have a good, well-rounded lineup though, even without our Britian-borne players. It'll be interesting. And Wolf's there, he headed in the goal against Malaysia last time. We also have Schrock and Ott ready to nip at Tiger heels (don't we?). Still, all things considered, I think we're to be viewed as the underdogs again. But we have such a great squad that a loss would be tragic. I predict another draw, though not a scoreless one. A win would be fantastic!

I'm very upset that the Younghusband brothers won't be able to make it to Malaysia on June 1st. Mike Limpag, his blog, mentioned that the spokesperson for the YH brothers said that the brothers has this "prior commitment" setup over a year ago and when they knew of the upcoming June 1st friendly, they tried to move the schedule of their "prior commitment". So, it is obviously not personal nor it is medical. It is most likely business or as what some of you has suggested, a wedding.
The only explanation that I can think of that they won't be able to make it is a wedding of one of the brothers. They probably wanted it to be a private one. But if comes June 1st and I've heard no good reason(s) as to why they cannot make it to Malaysia, I will... I will... uhm... hmm... help me out here. I will... uhm... I... I... will...

No need to be upset. It is just a friendly. The Younghusbands always make it a point to be available when the official games and tournaments start, which you couldn't say about all our players. Just like I said the last time they missed a game, it gives the team an opportunity to give playing time to other players and therefore increase our depth. If we lose in this friendly, it is not the end of the world, just as long as we get the result that we wanted in the Suzuki Cup in November.

cjeagle - You might have a point there. But, the reason of them not playing on June 1st makes my blood boil. What's with all the mystery? Can't take it. [Insert laughter here]

As for the PYH & JYH missing the game for prior commitment, that doesnt sound convincing. For us futbol fans, players that play/not play for the MNT is treated almost like a national interest. Giving us a "prior commitment" reason for me is just not sufficient.

Sunday, May 20, 2012 Fair Play: Prior commitments and PH's new jersey (This is the draft of my Fair Play column for Sun.Star Cebu on May 21) I once had a blog named “Drunk Ranting” and boy, was that blog something. That was before I started my footie blog seven years ago and when I started this www.cebufootball.blogspot (almost to the day), I thought, I’ll just limit this to, footie stories that see print and some other things that don’t. Now, I usually publish my columns in the blog, and occasionally, some columns that don’t see print. Sometimes, when I get lazy, or I want to free up my morning—which is when I write my columns—I’d fire a blog entry the night before, then review it for a column. I had one (click here) two days ago, and I’d be shooting myself in the foot if I submit it for today’s column as it has raised a few reactions and the replies require me to come up with something new. In that entry, basically, I said that unless Phil and James Younghusband’s “prior commitment” that will make them miss the Malaysia friendly was signed last year, then they may be just pulling their weight. Here’s a reply from Cathy Rivilla, who manages the Younghusbands, “Just to make things clear..the commitment they had was signed off since last year. We tried to move the date once we found out there was a friendly match but we could not. As soon as we found out through the media that there was a game on June 1, we spoke to Coach Weiss and the brothers spoke to Dan (upon his arrival from Europe). Rest assured, that the brothers are fully committed to the National Team, however, they could not get out of a previous MAJOR commitment (No, it is not an endorsement nor a TVC nor a photo shoot).” And that’s that. (And a very early morning dip erases all retort) and I just hope that this will be the last time the brothers will miss a friendly (to be fair, they never miss a tourney since 2010)—because of prior commitment. If the PFF and the management are committing a lot of resources for friendlies, then our top players, should… I wrote, too, that “I wouldn’t bet on Kaya FC players seeing action in the June friendlies” and some have thought that it was about club and country thing. Well, here are the facts—Kaya will release their players for the May 21-29 senior team training camp on May 25. Will the Kaya players missing the first four days of the camp be a factor whether they get selected or not for the June friendlies? That decision, ultimately, lies with the coaching staff. And I stand by what I wrote in my blog, that I hope this issue of Kaya FC players missing the first few days of camp will be resolved because this could get potentially ugly. We are probably going to hear more about this in the next few days. As for the new kit provider for the national team, well, that isn’t really news isn’t it? The contract with Mizuno ended months ago, and hopefully, so too will the endless questions from fans, “where can we buy the national team jersey?” Sanamagan, we have folks asking where they can spend P1,900 for a shirt and Mizuno’s answer is next week? Good riddance! The new provider would be required to make it easy for fans to buy the jersey. And I’m not talking about fans here, but even those based abroad. You can, if you want, buy a jersey for each of your nine lives, something Mizuno failed to do. As for the design contest, any fan—here or abroad—may submit their design proposals. Just wait for the official announcement from the men’s national team. The training camp in the US is a go and the official news of that should come out in a few days, and, so too, is the PFF Disciplinary Committee on Cristy Ramos sexual harassment complaint against Angel Guirado and Lexton Moy. We all thought that the committee was dragging its feet in the investigation, well, it was surprising to hear that the guys there have been doing their job and should come out with a decision soon. Maybe even before the June 1 friendly. www.cebufootball.blogspot.com/2012/05/this-is-draft-of-my-fair-play-column.html

Stadium Shah Alam is different from Bukit Jalil Stadium. Shah Alam's capacity is 80000 while Bukit Jalil is 100000. Still it's a big stadium. I thought is was 7pm but it was moved to 8:45pm
The MAS vs SRI game was held here last April 28. Attendance of this match was 10000. But for our game, I expect it might be a near capacity. will the PHI fans outnumber MAS fans? ;D FIND OUT ;D The MAS vs SIN match will be held in Bukit Jalil Stadium on June 8 ABS CBN's Tweet RT @abscbnsports: FIFA International Friendly: Philippines vs. Malaysia on June 1, Fri (Kuala Lumpur) LIVE at 7 p.m. on Studio 23. So this will moved to 8:45pm?

And with the cheap tickets (20 ringgit is around 250 pesos), I think the target is achievable. If Studio 23 coverage would start at 7:00 PM and the kickoff will be as stated, expect a lengthy pre-game and lots of shots of Neil Etheridge. ;D
