This thread is for information about Azkals future friendlies whether in FIFA match days of not, tournaments they will play, future training camps, battle against foreign clubs and more before they have separate threads
My thoughts, Right now other countries are now planning for their next friendlies next year. The Philippines should now also think of Azkals future friendlies Here are the match days set by FIFA in the future: 2013 06 February Friendly match day 22-26 March International match days 04 June Friendly match day 07-11 June International match days 14-18 June International match days 14 August Friendly match day 06-10 September International match days 11-15 October International match days 15-19 November International match days 2014 05 March Friendly match day 01-09 September International match days 06-14 October International match days 10-18 November International match days 12 June - 13 July 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil (TM)* Do you think the FIFA WC in Brazil is set in FIFA match days? If Yes, then PHI should invite teams for friendlies In a two week friendlies for 2013, they could host a tournament and invite strong teams

AFC ASIAN CUP UPDATE:The AFC Asian Cup Qualification will start on February 2013 and ends on March 2014. Philippines is NOT included in the list. PHI still an emerging nation in AFC and teams in the list are mostly developed and developing nations. 20 Teams in the list: 1. Uzbekistan 2. Qatar 3. Jordan 4. Iran 5. Iraq 6. China PR 7. Bahrain 8. Syria 9. United Arab Emirates 10. Kuwait 11. Saudi Arabia 12. Oman 13. Thailand 14. Yemen 15. Vietnam 16. Malaysia 17. Singapore 18. Indonesia 19. Lebanon 20. Hong Kong MATCHDAYS:The following matchdays have been assigned by the AFC for 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualification. As 15 October and 19 November 2013 are also the dates of the inter-confederation playoffs for 2014 FIFA World Cup, a number of alternative matchdays have been allocated. Year 2013 Matchday 1 - 6 February Matchday 2 - 22 March Matchday 3 - 15 October Matchday 4 - 15 November Matchday 5 - 19 November 2014 Alternative - 11 January Alternative - 18 January Alternative - 25 January Matchday 6 - 5 March THE DRAWGroup A:1. Jordan 2. Syria 3. Oman 4. Singapore Group B:1. Iran 2. Kuwait 3. Thailand 4. Lebanon Group C:1. Iraq 2. China PR 3. Saudi Arabia 4. Indonesia Group D:1. Qatar 2. Bahrain 3. Yemen 4. Malaysia Group E:1. Uzbekistan 2. UAE 3. Vietnam 4. Hong Kong The Top 2 Teams each group will qualify directly to the finals. The 3rd placer each group will be fighting for 1 spot via the best 3rd placer team.To determine the best third-placed team, the following criteria are used: 1. Number of points obtained in the group matches; 2. Goal difference in the group matches; 3. Greater number of goals scored in the group matches; 4. Fewer score calculated according to the number of yellow and red cards received in the group matches; (1 point for each yellow card, 3 points for each red card as a consequence of two yellow cards, 3 points for each direct red card, 4 points for each yellow card followed by a direct red card) 5. Drawing of lots. CONCLUSION:- Philippines need to be categorized by AFC at least a developing nation so that we have 2 choices of qualifying into AFC Asian Cup.
- Because of the Philippines rising in football, expect Philippines to promote to developing category soon. We could now be in the list of next AFC Asian Cup Qualification.
- We can't play friendlies against the teams said above on those dates so right now, PFF should now start planning for friendlies in 2013 for Philippines.
- The 2014 AFC Challenge Cup is only our key to be qualified for the AFC Asian Cup Finals.
- The match days stated above are all under the FIFA match days except the alternative dates. Philippines can still play with these countries on these dates that is included in FIFA match days. Refer to FIFA match days on post above.
For 2013 Friendlies, the following countries is best available for Philippines since these countries didn't included in the list too. These countries can still enter via AFC Challenge Cup. 1. Afghanistan 2. Bangladesh 3. Bhutan 4. Brunei 5. Cambodia 6. Chinese Taipei 7. Guam 8. India 9. Kyrgyzstan 10. Laos 11. Macau 12. Maldives 13. Mongolia 14. Myanmar 15. Nepal 16. North Korea (2012 Champion. Already qualified therefore they won't participate in the 2014 edition) 17. Pakistan 18. Palestine 19. Philippines 20. Sri Lanka 21. Tajikistan 22. Turkmenistan PHI can play these countries too but it might be difficult to invite them due to their schedule conflict as they could join other tournaments and other friendlies. These countries are now qualified for AFC Asian Cup. 1. Australia 2. Japan 3. South Korea Aside from countries stated above, it could be better for PHI if we'll start inviting teams from other confederation to increase international exposure and respect

The countries on the back of my mind that we should have a friendly against is North Korea. I would also love to see the azkals suit up against the All Whites(New Zealand). Also against other OFC countries like New Caledonia and Solomon Islands.

Bahrain was beaten by New Zealand 1-0 at NZ's home turf. NZ got 0-0 draw at Bahrain's home turf, maybe we can match up against NZ now?!?

Aw heck, we don't need to restrict ourselves to AFC nations. We can revisit the USVI friendly for our newer players and perhaps other Countries in the region for our full national team.

Since IDN is reportedly to be visited by the Dutch NT next year and MAS will be visited by Man Utd. Next Year, I'm really hoping that PHI will taste a European NT game next year ;D
Since we do respect well in Asia, we should now take a look of inviting teams from other confederations to play in PHI soil or PHI to play in their turf.

Big teams that Most likely to play Phl, could be Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.. Due to YH Connection on Chelsea, Real Madrid has a youth academy and our friendly club CF Madrid who also brought signed jersey, Paulino Alcantara and Sandro Reyes on Barcelona.. My hopes ain't high but its a possibility. xD

Other plans for next year is an African tour or friendlies against countries ranked between eighth and 15th in Asia.
"We won't be playing Japan, South Korea, Jordan or Australia yet, that’s for sure," Dan said. "But next year, we will try to get aggressive to earn Fifa points."cebufootball.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-few-random-thoughts-after-dans-latest.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FMdMPT+%28Cebu+Football%29posted by cjeagle on other thread
Rankings Currently World - AFC - Country 85 8 China PR 86 9 Korea DPR 95 10 Oman 101 11 Qatar 109 12 Lebanon 112 13 Kuwait 113 14 Saudi Arabia 115 15 BahrainWell it's a good start to improve their skill before taking on the AFC's top 7. Well an African Tour, now that's history for PHI as we'll take these teams for the first time. Looks like 2013 will be a good year for Azkals. Hope they could also invite African teams to play here

That's aggressive thinking right there. I thought we would challenge the Oceania teams next but it looks like we're setting the bar higher.

That 8-15 group has a feel of another middle eastern camp beckoning. Hopefully, the political situation between the Philippines and China would allow a football friendly to pacify things.

Next year, our neighbors will play against Middle East teams as their qualification for AFC Asian Cup. Well PHI is making plans to par with them or have better opponents than our neighbors like PHI will have a game with team in another confederation like CAF as hinted in article above. I really hope PHI and CHN will have a game soon. These 2 countries are rivals in Far Eastern Games way back in 1910s to 1920s.
I guess they could have another friendlies abroad against Middle East teams for AFC Challenge Cup - Qualifiers But could be an advantage if we were chosen as host as we are qualified directly to finals.
