there are rumors speculating around that Philippines will host another friendly in cebu. this time is against Kuwait. initial date is on January maybe before Sinulog or early February. no further information yet There are no FIFA match days for January but some countries will have games in January. February 6 is under FIFA match date so I think that could be the date. But Kuwait couldn't be our opponent as they are facing Thailand in THA's home at that date due to start of AFC Asian Cup - Qualification Stage.

They want 2 friendlies in Cebu in February. One date, February 6 is under FIFA match date. If that happens, who could be our opponent? Because of the success of the hosting, the bigwigs of Philippine football are talking about having more friendlies here, next year. They are so impressed that they even want two in February next year! But, that shouldn't be the target, what should be is the 2014 Challenge Cup.
Right now, it's between the Maldives and Philippines. And if we win it, it means at least three Azkals games--five if we make it past the group stage.
It would be the biggest football event to hit the country.
And it could happen right in our own backyard.
Aside from being credited as knowledgeable, the crowd during the Nov. 15 game was credited, too, for its behavior. When some spilled over the field after the game, and the announcer asked them to leave the pitch, they did.

I also learned, too, we’d have another game to look forward to in March—against Vietnam. Minutes after the win, CFA president Ricky Dakay was texting Dan Palami, Cebu is ready to host again.
Vietnam in March? That would be a good match.
But what would be a greater match?
Philippines vs. Thailand in March.
Bring it on.cebufootball.blogspot.com/2012/11/beating-vietnam-again-how-sweet-it-is.html
What date on March will Cebu host another game? Could it be true? Qualification matches for AFC Challenge Cup group stage will be held on March 3-17, 2013.

gyroball No. Maldives is the chosen host for AFC Challenge Cup 2014. Well hosting one of the group qualifying stage could be possible if we will be chosen. Wait until Dec 11 to see if we win a hosting for a grou stage and who could be our opponents according to a Tajikistan report. Seems Limpag said that Cebu wants to host another friendly in March but the Group Games will be held on 3-17 of March. Well Let's see when will Cebu hosts another Azkal game. Who could be our opponent for Feb 6, 2013? PFF should now find an opponent I hope Mindanao will be given a chance to see Azkals action live by next year

Are we planning to host series of friendlies against other countries before the Challenge Cup - Group Stage qualifiers?
Feb 6 is in FIFA calendar. We could also plan other games on other dates prior to the March's main event.

I wish that on 2013. There will be more frequent friendlies against nations to improve ELO and FIFA rankings as well as to gain experience and build their chemistry and togetherness. Well I see in the past 2 years, PHI football improved a lot from whipping boys to one of ASEAN's respected teams today. I hope more wins in coming years and hope continuous improvement won't stop By the way, Let's move on What can you expect for 2013 for Azkals? What could be their preparations before the Challenge Cup - Group Stage? FIND OUT!!! Looking forward that every month, PHI could have friendlies to watch against other nations in the future PHI football's future is bright

I think it would be better if the azkals would have "club friendlies" rather than friendlies with other nations for 2013. Coz it does not affect fifa rankings and it would be good for experimentation of different formations or lineups. It also boost experience in all of our players. In my opinion, we are a developing country in football and we do not have to push it too hard just to rise from the fifa rankings. Maybe clubs from middle east, africa, north america to have friendlies would be good. I'm sure they would grant a friendly match based on our recent performances and the rise of our football rank in the world. Last thing, PFF should build/upgrade more pitches if we want to succeed in this sport.

there are rumors speculating around that Philippines will host another friendly in cebu. this time is against Kuwait. initial date is on January maybe before Sinulog or early February. no further information yet I don't think this would be possible since the CCSC wouldnt be available coz currently there's a "stage" for the Sinulog contingents to perform... These would damage the "pitch" immensely.. sigh... Not unless PFF will scout another venue, which is very unlikely..

Does PFF is planning about our friendly on February 6, a FIFA match day? I hope in 2013, Azkals could play in Mindanao like Davao, Cagayan de Oro

Sorry, so far hosting a match in Mindanao is far-fetched as of now. Not a lot of venues here are yet ready for international matches. The Davao del Norte Sports Complex's inauguration was delayed due to Typhoon Pablo, while Cagayan de Oro's Pelaez Sports Complex will have to take a lot of time to make it FIFA standard. Not to mention security concerns. Many countries still advise their citizens not to travel in the island.
Speaking of the friendly on Feb. 6, they will integrate it on the national team's plan to have a training camp somewhere abroad. No definite plans yet, though, I've heard.

From: Internacional de Madrid FB Page 19 hours ago We are receiving a number of comments encouraging us to return to the Philippines to play against the UFL Cup winners Stallions and maybe the Azkals, if they are available. We have also been in contact with Habitat for Humanity to play a charity game. CFIM would welcome the chance to work with Habitat and our love for the Philippines is another good reason to return. The key factor will of course be the TV channels and sponsors who would need to back the initiative. A game in Manila and the other in Bacolod Stadium would be good venues. Let´s make it happen and help Humanity!
A good preparation also for AFC Challenge Cup 2014 Group Stage How supportive CFIM to PH Football

I think Davao Norte SC need only small touches where the PFF's magic touch will do.. and Davao's security is never an issue since it will be under the "man" turf..

Being a Dabawenyo myself, I have to comment on this. Yes, the Davao del Norte SC's renovation has long been planned as they are bidding to host the next Palarong Pambansa. If the PFF are interested to hold an international match here, why not? Traffic isn't a problem here; travel to the complex from downtown Davao City will only take you two hours tops. We have excellent accomodations, and it's generally safe here. Problem is, will the other nation agree? If their government is currently under a travel advisory preventing them to travel to Mindanao due to these insurgents and rebels, they will definitely turn it down. It's quite ironic for us, as many parts are relatively safe, at least here in the Davao region.

I have been assigned to the Davao provinces before, I agree with Stellarboy, it's worth a shot and it is a lovely place. If a match is to be played there, perhaps the Indonesians and the Malaysians could be convinced to play there. I know the Indonesians have a Consulate in Davao City and will be very familiar with the area. They would have first hand knowledge that Davao isn't that dangerous and even fairly safe. Mindanao deserves to host a live match.
