They want to practice their attacking movement and cohesion, not their defensive positioning. LOL.. yes, not Hungary at this moment.

"The Manila Standard also learned there are plans to bolster the fund campaign for the typhoon victims by organizing a friendly match between the Azkals and an Australian team sometime next month. In the meantime, the Azkals will resume training on Sunday for the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers to be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in March."manilastandardtoday.com/2013/01/05/weiss-pact-extended/

Wow in this article it turns out the Azkals were invited to play Hungary on Feb 6 but Mr. Dan Palami has rejected saying they are a very high level at the moment and wants the Azkals to build confidence and playing Hungary might make it hard for that to happen. sports.inquirer.net/80515/azkals-shun-friendly-with-crack-hungaryThey would've learned a lot (especially the cultural aspect of the NT), but Palami is right that we need to build confidence.

It would crush the team's confidence if we play Hungary.. but on a positive note, we might learn some very excrutiating challenges if ever they do play.. my two cents..

I like the words "very excrutiating". Sounds exciting!

yeah we do need to build confidence so i understand the rejection. I hope big clubs from around the world can play the Azkals like a possible rematch with the La Galaxy. What do you guys think of that?

I think a rematch of LA Galaxy would be possible. Experience-wise and business-wise. But we can also invite some other clubs, big clubs I guess would be possible. I hope PFF or Mr. Dan Palami could tap these clubs or even higher-ranked NT's would be great. I think we could have a friendly with an NT that is very good on defense so we could practice our attacking skills.

Very good defense? - North Korea comes to mind, but there might be some problems inviting them, it would be a good match-up though, we gave them a good fight last time we played them afterall.

maybe dan palami could pick a team/club who has a defensive mode play.. our back four are doing quite well, we need more practice with our offense..
i mean, let our forwards do the work MORE... we almost had a clean sheet during the suzuki cup not because of EdSa but it's because of our back 4..
with cagara, lucena, schrock at midfield, they will be able to distribute the ball evenly..
i think the problem is in hitting the net.. phil doesnt chase the ball or maybe getting discouraged with physical plays, angel hits the ground more than shooting the its target..
hehehe i dunno.. just my opinion... we need to score more... i guess

Sa tingin ko, si Phil walang back-up parati. Pag nag counter attack tayo, si Phil lang lage nasa unahan. Hindi naman mabagal gumalaw yung mga midfields natin pero hindi tama minsan yung positioning. The wingers are doing their job well, especially Patrick. But pag nag-attack na, si Phil lang parati yung nasa unahan at walang tao sa likod nya. Nakita mo yung goal ni Mulders? Sana ganun parati, yung mga systema ng pag-atake para malaki yung chance na mag goal. Siguro, me konting prob sa player (Phil) but yung main problem talaga is yung systema na ginagamit ng coach.
Opinyon ko po.

Still no opponent for Feb 6 game. who could it be if there are no Middle Eastern teams available since they're participating for AFC Asian Cup - Qualifiers on said date. I think a CAF or a UEFA team will be our opponent. Well I hope we have a friendly on Feb 6 and not just a plain training

The Afghanistan team (playing in Group C of the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers) could be a possible opponent as they are also conducting a training camp in the Middle East (specifically Dubai) on the same month. They are to play friendly games against club sides during that time, but they don't have a scheduled match on February 6th yet. Let see how it goes.

Still no news about training camp and friendly in February.
Not much time for training camp, PFF Smart Nat Club Championship will be on Feb 2 or 3 , and UFL start a week later.

The PFF and NT management is obviously awaiting for the decision of Coach Weiss if he takes the contract extension. Their plans for the training camp may essentially be on hold as they might be still focusing on this .
