Omphroy , Uy, Christaens, De Murga, De Jong, Riechelt, Angeles twins, Porteria all below 25 years old, so they have a good 8-10 years ahead of them. If we can get more local-based youngsters like Clarino, Beloya, and Valmayor that will be great. Carli and Azkals reserve David Basa are also both 23. With UFL continuing to develop and our foreign-based prospects, the future looks bright. But we need a more defined plan for our U-23. I'm thinking we can have them as a guest team in the UFL to develop cohesion.

If we win this Peace Cup, I think for succeeding editions of this mini-tournament or of the Long Teng Cup we field the U23 team. Let this tournament be an opportunity for the youngsters to gain exposure and international match experience. As for the UFL, a number of the U23 players will be regular players for some of the Division 1 clubs. I'd say let the U21 team instead play as a guest team in the UFL to help them develop and mature. Though considering how the UFL tends to sometimes get a bit too physical and nasty, hopefully some of the teams don't resort to kicking these youngsters off the pitch.

From these series of matches from what I have read, Omphroy and Reichelt are making a statement each game that they might be the better option at right midfield over mainstay James Younghusband, as they have shown not only a lot more creativity in setting up their teammates as well as scoring themselves but also because they seem to have better communication and chemistry with their teammates on the field than when James is present.
Of course it remains to be seen whether they can demonstrate the same chemistry that James has with his brother Phil that has been the bread and butter of the Azkal offence in the past, but the newcomers on the team have definitely increased the depth and competition for the starting spots within the team. It is also important to note that the players who have made the most impact in this tournament(Omphroy, Reichelt, Porteria, Uy, Christiaens, de Murga and the Angeles brothers) are all relatively young with Porteria not even 18 yet and have the potential to improve and develop further down the road.

5-0 is a great result regardless of rank. I wish ABS-CBN and Studio 23 gave us real highlights. This isn't basketball or US football.... They show the shot, but the most important part is the build up (aka 5-15 passes and actions before teh goal).

I share the same view. Reichelt was on pinoyfootball's radar for more than a year now, but I only noticed his game when he played with Global. He is a good addition to the team & a good replacement for JYH if he wont make it in the SUZUKI CUP. PYH is still irreplaceable for now.
As for Omphroy, I like to use him as a winger not a wing back(RB). But I guess Weiss was forced to play him back coz wer kinda thin on that position.
For UY, his composure in the middle is excellent, something we really need. He plays DM, distributes the ball from the middle. I think he should move the ball more before making a pass. Im kinda skeptic about his speed and tackle ability specially if we start playing a team that is faster and better than Macau.
OJ & Christaens is the future. Christaens wants to replicate Jordi Alba, he plays the wing real good, those over laps will be use full. I would like to see OJ start as ST instead of Araneta. You saw that play he did at the corner? that play was with Christaens, that play would make it to any EPL, Seria A or La Liga highlights.

well i also like Omphroy to be utilized as a winger, not a RB to maximize his abilities and creativity. Reichelt is also a good candidate for the Right Wing position but he can still play as a striker when needed (especially if Phil is still not around)

Didn't Weiss experiment with James Younghusband playing the centerback position where we are kind of thin right now. How did he do there? Maybe it is time to see if he can play decently in the back. I have known players that have been moved back as they get older and slower. His height will certainly be an asset there and his ability to keep the ball is I think better than de Jong's. I just don't know if he knows how to tackle players. This will allow Omphroy or Reichelt to play in the starting lineup and still keep James on the field as well.

Good idea, he played CB I think in last years ICanServe tourney. If I remember right, he played very well as he has the height and a better pace than then CB Gener(which was our backup CB a year ago).
Angel(no silent "h") Guirado was also tried out at DM and did very well because of his bulk, pace and height though I do not remember which particular game.

Wow, I thought the short passing game was only a fluke during the Guam game, I'm glad to see that it has become almost second nature. We'll see how it holds up against faster and more aggressive teams that would always pressure whoever gets the ball. I'm also glad that Weiss has seen the light early with Araneta, that early sub was a statement against him. He wasted several clear goal-scoring chances for the second straight game. We've seen yet again how he just falls down without anyone near him and how he scuffs his strikes against the ground. Combination of gigil and lack of discipline. Pang-local standards na lang talaga siya, sad to say. And based on his facial expressions and body language, he doesn't seem to be apologetic about all of it, patawa-tawa lang akala mo nakakaloko. Compare that to the reactions of Wolf when he wasted his chances, talagang asar siya at nahihiya sa sarili.

^ actually when he got subbed off, he looks like he is going to cry. he just smile to compensate. i think he got the yips, his body just loses balance whenever he strikes the ball.
