BTW, what did Mulders actually do to get the red? Was it because he kicked the ball towards a Cambodian player? (That's what Studio 23 showed in the instant replay). Or did he kick another Cambodian player? (There was another Cambodian player who went down, other than the one who was hit by the ball).
About Weiss not using his substitutes, I think that's just OK. First, he is hiding the other players from the Turkmenistan scouts, and second, the starting 11 got a 1 hour break, so they aren't that tired towards the end of the game.

I believe it was another player or a different player who was hurt. The guy that got hit didn't fall down according to what Mr. Bob Guerrero said

I think Weiss will place Shrock in CM position. Shrock was so effective in that position in our game against Singapore last year when we won 2-0 in their home turf. Plus it will also give him a wider space for his play making ability. I will not be surprised if OJ takes Shrock's position at left wing.

never thought I'd say this pero this is the deepest bench we'd ever had for our national team. Before halos ayaw natin ipa-sub starting 11 pero now, we're having debates on who will sub who. Is this our golden generation?. . very glorious*

Now the big question is who will fill Mulder's CM position.. after seeing Schrock play that LM we shouldn't be seeing Chieffy playing that position for a long time as long as Schrock is there... I think Angel will get the nod of filling up Mulder's CM and Rechielt or JYH for the RM... Angel to CAM and Porteria as RM..

One thing that really irritates me is that Weiss did not use any of his substitutions. He could have subbed out Phil and gave OJ a chance, or he could have chieffy in and let angel be the withdrawn striker. We were already 6-nil up before half of the second half, atleast he could have tried some tactics for the Turkmenistan game. It's because he wanted to surpassed the 7-0 trashing of Turkmenistan over Cambodia. A draw against Turkmenistan tomorrow night will make the Philippines number 1 of the group and advance to next year's AFC challenge Cup finals..

After watching the highlights Mulders will really be miss I think he is the one actually supplying the pass to our strikers...

My two centavos:
ON SUBSTITUTIONS (or the lack thereof) I do not buy into the argument that Herr Weiss "did not sub because Turkmenistan was watching." It was imperative that the Philippines try to match or better Turkmenistan's number of goals as there is a possibility of Turkmenistan & the Philippines cancelling each other out. By not making any substitutions Weiss was trying not to change the dynamics of the team. For the coach it was more than just a win. It was a show of strength.
The 8-0 scoreline has forced Turkmenistan's hand as a draw won't suffice. Turkmenistan will have to come out to attack and Weiss can now plan the next course of action with this in mind.
TURKMENISTAN MIGHT HAVE CAMBODIA TO THANK It was a game of two halves: wet & dry. Had the conditions remained ideal it could have been double digits. The long lull provided ample time for both teams to regroup. For the Philippines it meant proactively creating space in and around the box which was why Schrock jinxed and danced around more than he did during the first "dry" half. For Cambodia it was more of damage control.
But Turkmenistan may find it interesting how incisive Cambodia's counter-attacks were. Their patterned runs, diagonal passes, with a wide attacker cutting in made how centerbacks (including the impressive Juani) seem a tad slow.
If an early barrage from Turkmenistan fails to yield results then expect them to sit deep and hit back with patterned runs similar to that of Cambodia.

One hour break means the tired guys get fresh. And Weiss liked the momentum, so he kept it intact.
