he shouldve stayed in the US He's in the US, there's not a way a team of Monterrey's caliber would sign him up. This a 1st/2nd team mix up: All the 8 Mexicans have caps with the senior Mexican NT, 1 with a world cup (Luis Ernesto Perez in 2006) there's a senior Ecuatorian NT guy who have played in a world cup (Walter Ayoví in 2002) 2 argentines, 1 of them with caps in youth leves (U-17 and U-20 WC, champion in the latter) and have won Libetadores with Boca Juniors (Nery Cardozo) why would them sign this guy?

yeah, this guy is a joke. he hypes himself up. if you are that good, you wouldn't need to. he's been saying the same thing for months now. i doubt he is playing in a top professional team.

Pictures in San Francisco most likely means it's based there. As for CF Monterrey reserves, very doubtful, close to half the team looks a little over-the-hill. If you look at the NPSL team roster, there isn't any 'Monterrey' team. Not to mention an NPSL logo on their uniforms. Look at the telephone number at the bottom for a 'Victor Magallanes" it's a 415 area code that's bay area/San Francisco, CA. Why would they go there for pics if they're from Monterrey MX? I think its a "Saturday night league" for Mexican Americans living in and around the Bay area. I quit following this cat on twitter because he keeps on saying he's close to signing for a la Liga, Serie A, US National Team etc etc(see stellars post of one of his tweets above), just like his "FIFA agent" kept saying to us a few months ago. Not my cup of tea, right? I'm beginning to be quite doubtful of this guy, 'cause he's mentions a lot signing up for a "pro team" in Mexico or in Europe ad nauseam, with a portfolio video to boot. Is his inconsistency cost him his spot for the national team, perhaps?

Actually when that "so-called agent" began hyping Gino here, I was suspecting that it was really Gino himself because he really had lots of sensitive inside information about Gino and it was my first time to see an agent "hyping" his talent just in an INTERNET FORUM. This Gino really is a master showman and attention seeker himself as he has his own youtube videos, regularly-updated FB fanpage, and twitter account, and yet hasn't achieved anything yet in football.

I called the number earlier this afternoon and left a voicemail asking for a callback. (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, too.) No response yet. I wanted to ask Señor Magallanes about this team. First thing I noticed when I saw the picture, well, same impression as Wiking. Seems like half the team are over the hill and had way too many cervezas in their youth.

Time will tell. Let's give the kid the benefit of the doubt. It's no skin off our teeth, anyway. Just wish him luck in whatever he's pursuing right now.

What I really don't understand is the fact that he has been called up for the Azkals.. but Global isn't interested in him? I mean, does Global have enough players for his position or is this lad not good enough? If he's really THAT good Global would've signed him for sure, even if they have enough players for his position. And that brings me back to my first question, WHY was he called up for the Azkals? Let's face it, if Global doesn't want him for not being good enough, he has no business in a professional league. I'm not hating on this guy, I wish him the best, but I'm just being realistic.

One of Gino's November 21 tweets says that he is going to Europe in search for a team. Thus he still didn't have a team back then.
Gino's picture with this "Monterrey" team is dated November 21, 2011.
Now I am confused.

@gerardo: If you hype yourself well and do some sweet talk, you might just fool someone unknowing of your scheme. Remember Graeme Souness and Ali Dia in Southampton?
It's possible he told someone in the PFF of his "credentials" and they took the bait.

Let's us not be "Pavoned" again! @ginop_415: MLS team for a yr than il go to europe I just discovered this page on Gino's status. I think he is being showcased for the 2012 MLS Combine: www.infosportinc.com/2012ginopavone.html The Combine Coach's Overall Comments:Must improve his work rate when beaten. Is an excellent passer, especially long range with left or right.Good assesment there. But seriously, I would laugh if this cat would keep us guessing where he's going and trick us again. If he won't Pavone us again by signing up with a club in the US, I'll be happy.
