In addition to these teams and countries to the Maldives, which will host the final part of the AFC Challenge Cup in 2014, broke Laos, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Palestine, Turkmenistan. This friendly match on the soccer field is planned in order to prepare for the AFC Challenge Cup. In the FIFA rankings for May Philippines behind us by 2 points - 145 place. Recall the backbone of the national team of Kyrgyzstan, who plays for the football club "Dordoy" recently returned from the Philippines, where he participated in the qualifying tournament, the AFC President's Cup 2013 and was the winner. The last match of FC "Dordoy" at this tournament was just with the champions and tournament hosts - Philippine football team "Global", which also play a lot of players to the national team of the Philippines. The final score was 6-1 in our favor. "Dordoy" received a ticket to the final of the AFC President's Cup 2013 to be held in September this year. Hopefully, the players of our team will prove to be even better at home than on the road. Azkals test Kyrgyzstan booters in friendlyBy Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer 1:53 am | Saturday, May 18th, 2013 THE PHILIPPINES will face fellow AFC Challenge Cup final round qualifier Kyrgyzstan in an international friendly in Bishkek on June 8. Philippine Football Federation general secretary Ed Gastanes confirmed the development to the Inquirer, even as the PFF is also close to sealing an agreement to play against Tajikistan on June 11. Gastanes said the match with Tajikistan is also ideal as the country is just south of Kyrgyzstan and the national team would not need longer travel time between the two former Soviet Union states. The Azkals are squaring off with Hong Kong on June 4 at Mongkok Stadium and team manager Dan Palami is already looking forward to gaining plenty of experience in their matches which he said will come in handy when the Filipinos vie for an Asian Cup slot in the Challenge Cup in Maldives next year. Because the matches fall on international match dates, the Azkals will have the full compliment of players, including Europe-based stars Stephan Schrock, Neil Etheridge, Paul Mulders, Jerry Lucena and Dennis Cagara as well as Javier Patino who is currently making waves in the Thai Premier League. National team coach Michael Weiss said the Central Asians are just the kind of opponents the Azkals need in preparation for the Challenge Cup next year. “They are a big, physical and strong team with a lot of experience at a good level of football in Asia and we saw it in the Presidents Cup,” said Weiss. “Our team really needs matches like this to develop.” Read more: sports.inquirer.net/100561/azkals-test-kyrgyzstan-booters-in-friendly#ixzz2TbNlep5nFollow us: @inquirerdotnet on Twitter | inquirerdotnet on Facebook

It will be a good match for us. Friendly against Tajiskistan should push through to make it more interesting. However, PFF should also utilize the remaining FIFA friendly match dates this coming June here in the Philippines for us to experience again the intensity of our NT team playing in front of the home crowd, whether in Cebu or in Manila.

Excellent choice of opponent! In truth I was getting worried as it seemed no one from our immediate location in the Asian region seem to want to play against us but then this great news from FIFA and other publications.
Kyrgyztan is a big and bruising side and will negate our size advantage over our SEA opponents which means we will need to rely on a good game plan, teamwork and skillful passing instead of just running over the opponent such as in the Cambodia friendly.
Tajikistan meanwhile is a cut above the Philippines(if we get them to play against us) and will be the best test for out best lineup, but hey we drew Bahrain last year and if we can do it against Tajikistan I'd consider that a win!
Go Azkals and kudos to PFF, good choices for opponents so far!
* A little about Kyrgyztan: Their last 3 friendlies against Macao, Pakistan & Tajikistan they've all won 1-0. A very weird scoreline as they beat a very highly ranked Tajikistan 1-0 but only beat Macao & Pakistan 1-0, two sides that are way up in the rankings(or way down) by only 1 goal.
When we play Kyrgyztan, which team will we get?...
** If we can't get Tajikistan for our next opponent how about Kazakhstan? Same neighborhood and a similar team to Kyrgyztan and Turkmenistan(more or less anyway and less travel for the boys too).

it's payback time! after the Global vs Dordoi game, i told myself why not invite them and their NT for a friendly, i also asked Weiss about this but he was unsure of who will be or if there will be another friendly match after the game against Hong Kong on June 4. i have heard that a friendly match against Indonesia is being finalized but it looks like it's not going to happen. we can still add another game perhaps a friendly match to close the series of friendly here in the Philippines

It seems that this game won't push through. What could be the reason?

www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/pff-cancels-azkals-june-friendly-against-kyrgyzstan?utmPFF cancels Azkals’ June friendly against Kyrgyzstan Thursday, May 23, 2013 · 4:05 pm The Philippine Football Federation has cancelled the Azkals’ supposed match against Kyrgyzstan in June because of the logistical problems they faced on getting to the Central Asian nation. PFF general secretary Ed Gastanes told InterAKTV that the match was called off due to their inability to search for “good flights” and the “booking difficulties” they faced for arranging the friendly. The Azkals were initially scheduled to play Kyrgyzstan in its capital Bishkek on June 8 in a match which could have pitted the two squads for the first time in an international friendly. World governing body FIFA has acknowledged the development after removing the match on the Azkals’ official fixtures posted on its website. “Philippines informed us via fax that they would like to cancel the match versus Kyrgyzstan,” FIFA wrote in an email to InterAKTV. The Azkals still has one scheduled match next month against Hong Kong on June 4. The matches are part of the Azkals’ preparations for the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup in Maldives next year, where the Filipinos aim to surpass their third-place finish in the same tournament last year.

RT @cedelfpt: Philippine Azkals' friendly v Kyrgyzstan on June 8 in Bishkek has been called off. PFF says they found difficulty getting "less punishing" connecting flights to Bishkek for team. Journey to Bishkek goes through Moscow and would take around 20 hrs including layovers just to get there. Also flights are expensive. Cost around 6-7k USd per person. PFF now looking at Middle East for matches and camp. And yes, there is still a possibility of a friendly in Cebu if the PFF finds an opponent.
PFF should look now for opponents.
Try Pakistan and Maldives. If they don't have games yet. It will be a disappointment for our Euro-based players if they have 1 match only.

I'd like a rematch with Thailand but I suppose they have previous engagements. Middle Eastern teams should be our target. Anyways, yeah I'm almost hoping for any team.

Although you will get the same number of hours of travel, I don't think it would be affected by layovers as far as airport traffic in the stopovers are concerned. aviability.com/flight-search/from-mnl-ninoy-aquino-manila-philippines/to-fru-manas-bishkek-kyrgyzstanAccording to the systems, they can pass through Dubai (DXB), where our Euro-based players go through this when going to Manila, then fly to Bishkek. For the Global FC players who came from their Singapore Cup run, they can fly to Guangzhou, China, take a connecting flight to Urumqi and then to Bishek. Round trips costs around $1,300 to $1,400.
