Nice website. I remember reading in previous articles that they have some Australian investors involved. Anybody can verify that? I think this is the same group that brought the Perth Glory to Vigan to play a match against Philippine Azkals last year. From the looks of it, one of its main backer seems to be the Singson Clan and LGU of Ilocos is also supportive. Well they certainly have good political and financial backing if the Singsons and the Ilocos LGU are involved. It will ensure that the team is marketed properly, the recently refurbished stadium kept up to international standards and will help mobilize the local populace into supporting the team.

Hopefully this would trigger a domino effect among other investors/businesses/prominent personalities to go all out in the name of pride of their city or region they belong but not beyond being politicized.

The way this organization is being built will disrupt the status quo of Philippine football. Not only will it be marketed properly, but they will be inextricably intertwined with the local community. As far as the squad itself, they are being built with a long-term strategy that mirrors successful teams in Europe with an emphasis on youth, development, and a professional culture, rather than a win-now and win-at-all-costs attitude.

Well it would be good to have both a reasonably competitive professional PFL team(without breaking the bank)in the short term and a vertically integrated developmental system that can produce local youth players for the team long term.
They've been training in Manila for the past couple of weeks. They're bringing a select group up to Vigan for final evaluations, which include current and former UFL players and Azkals.
Care to share who these UFL players and Azkals players are?

I'm not sure if they want that to be public knowledge yet, so I can't disclose. The team will reconvene in Vigan at the end of the month, and by then, some of the signings will be made official. The players are formerly from Global, Loyola Meralco Sparks, Kaya, and Green Archers.

I hope that the Stallion Invitational Cup were just friendlies and were NOT indicative of the new PFL. Scores of 7-0, 6-0 worries me. It is not healthy since we need more parity in this new league, NOT like the UFL. For me, a healthy league is where the club's home games are all sold out, players are playing at their limits and managers are worried of losing their jobs.

For me, a healthy league is where the club's home games are all sold out, players are playing at their limits and managers are worried of losing their jobs. Strong and established teams like Global are testing their new recruits and reserve players as their non-Azkals star players are rested from a rigorous schedule and travelling from AFC Cup competitions at the same time their Azkals stars are in unavailable due to national team duty. While newcomers Davao and a rebuilding Stallion are going full strength to reach their peak and intended chemistry. I think neophytes Davao and Ilocos must strengthen their team to be at par with UFL veteran teams. It may take time for them but the limit is boundless in terms of provincial grassroots not to mention foreign born Filipinos that are willing to try their luck in the PFL and the lure of being part of the Azkals.
