... still a nobody. But we will soon find out what after his first 3 international games with the Azkals. I prefer not to over-hype something or someone. Year 2010, nobody gave a damn media mileage about that young, "nobody" British coach. We all knew what happened henceforth, and he actually did by just parking the bus in every match.

Look, Palami got the best he could on the budget he had. Dooley will be under the microscope as this is his first big assignment. He needs to win now or he will not see the AFF Suzuki Cup.

The thing I would like to emphasize about Dooley again is that not only is he a good coach, with excellent motivational skills and tactical acumen, but also an accomplished teacher of the game. His students in the US, sing his high praises all the time about his ability to develop their game. This in my opinion, is ideal for the Philippines setting, where a lot of our young and local players, have not been taught properly(esp. tactically) the fundamentals of the sport. Many of our players in the national team pool will benefit from the weekly training and as you can read from their comments, they are already responding positively to his instruction.
He has also proven to be media friendly, with a cheerful personality to boot, quite a contrast with the previous somewhat Darth Vader like coach. Most of all I am really impressed by his work ethic, scouting for players in both the UFL and the UAAP, watching previous games and other potential opponent's game, even appearing in talk shows to help promote the sport, basically working nonstop since his arrival. Overall, he has been receiving high marks from all quarters, in his brief stay in the Philippines so far.

... changing how we play the game. In just a few short weeks he has totally transformed the National Team. I'm optimistic that he will indeed take us to the next level. Looking forward to how he does in the Challenge Cup and Suzuki Cup.

Now you can see what we have been missing this past 3 years Caz, a team with a plan and can play organized football.

making me realize in hindsight how committed the Azkals players were in representing our country in the past. They were basically functioning just by sheer guts, luck & heart. even making Mcmeneny's 6-month tenure look like a millennium.

One month into his tenure as national team coach, Dooley is already making a huge impact in the game in the Philippines, not only by using an attractive style that suits the Filipino climate and physique and that can serve as a blueprint for every Philippine coach to follow and adopt, but also doing an excellent job, helping to promote football in a country where basketball is king.

First time I heard of this service. Very scientific and methodical. Every team should be using it as an objective way of receiving feedback on each individual player on the team and correcting any mistakes. I think it would also be a great way of scouting an opposing team, probing for mistakes and tendencies on individual players on the other team and creating a game plan structured to take advantage of another team's system and weaknesses. It reminds me of North American sports like baseball, American(NFL)football, basketball and hockey where there are statistics for every single individual category and where they create systems for analyzing and comparing teams based on those statistics. Americans have this tendency to create statistics for every single category in a game and has been criticized by Europeans for it, but it seems to be an effective tool for dissecting your own team as well as the opposing team even for the game of football/soccer where the free flowing and non stop nature of the game doesn't lend itself to easy statistical analysis.

I wasn't the one who crossed the line azkaholic. It doesn't matter how many posts there are in a thread. If you check the garbage forum, some of them had hundreds of posts already. All it needs is for a member to think he is above the rules to sour it for everyone else and we also have to listen to other member's requests and not yours alone. It is part of our job to be as fair to everyone as possible.

He thought he was above the rules and thought suggestions by other members about a thread he started, was an attack on him personally. I don't think he is used to rules in a forum at all. At one point in the past, he started using insults against other members he didn't agree with, using below the belt anatomical references, which I deleted and warned him about. I tried to be lenient but he has been pushing the envelope ever since.
