Global plays Brunei DPMM. Loyola plays SHB Champasak FC. Both are in Pool B.

if the scheduled game pushed through, it'll surely affect Global and Loyola's campaign as most of their star players will be in Bahrain for the NT training camp

It's been a long time request from S.league fans. To have a Philippine team for the league. I've seen teams from Malaysia(HMB), Japan(Albirex),Brunei(DPMM). I think it will be great to see a UFL based team playing in the S. League. Preferably a reserve team or a 2nd division team, as it will not messed up the schedule for UFL games. My candidate would be Ceres-Negros FC(Ceres u-23 team).

how about sending our developmental U-21 team to play in the S-League. a much greater idea..It will be our version of Harimau Muda B(u-21 Malaysia) of S.League.

^if we send a totally inexperienced U-21 team to the S-League we're not going to be competitive. No point in getting the youngsters experience if they will be demoralized with heavy defeats. Just look at the U-21 Malaysia team, they only won once in 11 games.
Sending in a club team to the S. League will surely negatively affect their UFL performance.
IMHO it's too early to think about a Phil. team in the S. League. SG Cup is okay for now. We must further develop the UFL first.

The Singaporeans want us for the fans we attract to their stadiums and the quality of our European born players, but why should we be helping them at this stage. We should be more concerned about growing and developing our own league. As Dooley pointed out, it is not good to have such a wide disparity in terms of strength, in our top tier. Taking one strong team away will make it even worse.

With the growing Filipino expat community in the city-state, there is a huge desire to have a Filipino team play, just as what cjeagle cited previously.
Do note that based on the final 23 posted, 3 are from Global (Sato, De Jong, Bahadoran) & 2 from Loyola (the YH's).

if Singapore really wants Philippine teams why not invite more UFL clubs into the SG Cup? adding Kaya and/or Stallions should be good. just a thought.
