I agree, though the Suzuki Cup is sorta important for other reasons. However, I do hope both players will be available for the World Cup qualification campaign. All parties just need to sit down and talk things through.

Facts:
We have almost 10 million overseas Filipino workers not included those who lived and migrated abroad and Filipino descendants.
We have a very big chance that we can call football players of a high caliber to the national team playing in top leagues in Europe like English Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and La Liga. And so far, we haven't called any players (as far as I know) grew and played in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia where football superstars born.
Hindi naman sa minamaliit ko ang Local Players, it will take years or decades before our future national league will be at the same caliber of J.League or K.League. Look at Japan and South Korea NT and the Aussies, they cannot advance to Last 16 in WC in Brazil despite boasting EPL, Serie A and Bundesliga players. Lets face the fact that European and South American countries will continue dominate the world football scene because of their inherited genes and sizes (Please read Japanese Scientist comments on Neymar's motors skills and how it is connected to his brain function). Even Coach Klinsmann commented that it will more years before US will dominate and win the WC, they almost scouted every American Descendants playing in European Leagues especially Bundesliga (Biased haha).
I hope Dooley and PFF will fix these issues and Shrock and Company will wear again the Azkals jersey.
I will choose Shrock and Company over Dooley, Filipino Blood is still thicker than water.

BTW, to those who think Dennis Cagara doesn't deserve his place on the team, I would like to remind you that Dennnis has played at the highest level in the German Bundesliga and the Danish Superliga and has been on every Danish youth team from u-16 to U-21, competing in many different European age group tournaments. Sato is a good player, and has the potential to be a long time contributor to the team, but compared to Cagara's professional accomplishments, he doesn't really deserve to supplant him at this time. Sato have never been called up for any of Japan's youth teams while Dennis has and Denmark has a higher rating than Japan in the Fifa rankings. I agree that Dennis is one hell of a player. BUT the he really sucked when he played against Laos in the Challenge Cup. So, Sato deserved to start in his place.

Acc. to this article, Dennis only played one game in the Challenge Cup, the win against Turkmenistan. "Cagara subsequently left the island nation after playing in the win against Turkmenistan in the group stage. That was the only match he played in for the entire competition. He had also been nursing a heel injury." ph.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/thepassionatefan/azkals-coach-dooley-not-honest-dennis-cagara-140902292.html

You are right jonny, but it sounded from Bob's article that he was playing with an injury. He was very good in previous tournaments he played for the Azkals.

(Twitter)From Boss Dan Palami: @dscpalami
"It is unfortunate that Stephan and Dennis have made their decision (not to suit up for the Azkals for now). The level of skill and depth of experience they bring to the game will surely be missed. It is natural even amongst family for differences to arise, especially when changes are introduced. At the end of the day, however, it is good to be reminded that every single one in the Azkals family actually shares the same dream: to unite Filipinos through their love for the beautiful game and to bring Phil. Football to the world stage. Because of this, and through sustained dialogue forged on mutual respect, I am optimistic we will reach a resolution that will be most beneficial to the team and that will bring us even closer to our common goals.
I would like to thank the fans and supporters of the Azkals who continue to believe in the team. Fans and football observers -whether informed or misinformed, have expressed strong opinions on the choices that players and management should make, and I choose to take that as evidence of how much we’ve all come to care for the future of Philippine football. We count on your support even more now as we focus on the Peace Cup in September and the Suzuki Cup in November."

Good read from Ryan Fenix. www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/rampaging-fullback-no-winners-in-azkals-schrock-dooley-rift"That has to be the sustainable target. Wasn’t that what we all asked Coach Hans Michael Weiss to do – blood in the youngsters and give them a chance? Well, Dooley is doing that now. He’s made the hard decision not to give playing time to the older guys and instead give the young guns their chance. And for that, he gets blamed." Ohh pinoy fans.

^yeah, definitely a good read. But let us face the fact that it will take YEARS OR even DECADES before someone at par with Stephan Shrock will be born and trained under the Philippine grassroots program and as long as the BASKETBALL is the number one sport in the Philippines - many bright athletes will go to basketball instead of football.
Maybe we should also look at our neighboring ASEAN countries except for Thailand, how long they are developing their league and their grassroots? Do they succeed in their targets and goals? maybe in Susuki Cup but in World Cup or even Asian Cup? Answer No. Look at the Indonesian NT they are now recruiting Indonesian-Dutch football players in the Netherlands they even boast Nigel De Jong an Indonesian descent.
Do you remember the comment of former Malaysian Coach? He is very envy of stephan shrock.
Sorry if iam thinking only in short-term but we need high chance of success in all international tournaments so the Philippine football can able live and sustain itself for long-term.

Azkals manager Dan Palami ‘optimistic’ on ironing differences between Schrock, Cagara, coach Dooley Philippine national men’s football team manager Dan Palami expressed optimism that the rift of star players Stephan Schrock and Dennis Cagara and their coach Thomas Dooley will be fixed soon. Schrock and Cagara took to social media last Monday to announce their departure from the national team because of their conflict with Dooley. They both said that they will not suit for the Philippines until the American coach is at the helm. In a statement, Palami called the decision of Schrock and Cagara to leave the Azkals for the meantime “unfortunate,” but said that, like in families, disagreements among team members are just normal. “It is unfortunate that Stephan and Dennis have made their decision (not to suit up for the Azkals for now). The level of skill and depth of experience they bring to the game will surely be missed,” Palami wrote. “It is natural even amongst family for differences to arise, especially when changes are introduced.” Link

I'm one of the people who questioned the wisdom of selecting Sato over tested veteran Cagara in last Challenge Cup. Nevertheless, over time I understand how the coach came up with that difficult decision. It's hands-down that Cagara is more superior skills-wise than Sato. But there are several factors being considered why those starting selections were made. First, Cagara missed the whole training sessions and friendly matches prior to the main tournament and arrived in Maldives when the tournament is about to begin. Second, Cagara that time was beset with injuries therefore not 100% fit to play. Similar situation in Muller - Etheridge set-up in No.1 position, Muller was in top form in that period and Etheridge isn't. Still respect was accorded to Neil when he was picked to start in their first match. He eventually obliged to give way to Muller in succeeding matches as he was plagued by an injury.
And I also understand where Schrock, Cagara and Etheridge's outburst came from. . .Imagine, flying to match venue a day before official match, that's pretty hard considering the long, ardous intercontinental flight; The jet lags; experiences of being stranded in transit airports; the likelihood of putting their careers in jeopardy as playing for National team there's uncertainties of not being covered by an insurance in the event they succumb to injuries; playing in sub-standard pitches; being recipient of racial remarks made by the very own fellow Filipinos; leaving their wives who had just delivered babies(in reference to Gier and Juani); and on top of it they are doing it for FREE, pro bono; and plus other things and etc. etc. etc ..All these for the sake of playing for their Motherland, Philippines. So it is understandable that their expectation that they will be selected in starting line-up is high. . And here comes a new coach who instituted radical changes and overlooked the sacrifices that above-mentioned players had in the past.
I would just say this recent intrigue is just a consequence of miscommunication. And Im hoping PFF and Azkals management will seek to redress this issue so as to avoid this happening again. . .Good luck to Schrocky, Cagara and Etheridge to whatever path they are going to take... Maraming salamat sa oras at mga alaala na ibinabahagi ninyo para sa InangBayan. . .

Mr. Palami pays them. It is not free. Read a tweet from mr. Genota to mr. palami that he will have "savings" in his payroll. mobile.twitter.com/jarongenota/statuses/496331365697081345Changes do really hurt. Ofcourse, I still wanted to have this resolved by both parties. Presscon later, can't wait for it.
