Anyways with all these controversies and drama, Philippine football has been receiving a lot of press at home and abroad in many news publications. I think this is great as this will attract many non soccer fans to the sport, because of all the drama. Maybe at some point they will become football fans as well.

And I also understand where Schrock, Cagara and Etheridge's outburst came from. . .Imagine, flying to match venue a day before official match, that's pretty hard considering the long, ardous intercontinental flight; The jet lags; experiences of being stranded in transit airports; the likelihood of putting their careers in jeopardy as playing for National team there's uncertainties of not being covered by an insurance in the event they succumb to injuries; playing in sub-standard pitches; being recipient of racial remarks made by the very own fellow Filipinos; leaving their wives who had just delivered babies(in reference to Gier and Juani); and on top of it they are doing it for FREE, pro bono; and plus other things and etc. etc. etc ..All these for the sake of playing for their Motherland, Philippines. So it is understandable that their expectation that they will be selected in starting line-up is high. . And here comes a new coach who instituted radical changes and overlooked the sacrifices that above-mentioned players had in the past. Mr. Palami pays them. It is not free. Read a tweet from mr. Genota to mr. palami that he will have "savings" in his payroll. mobile.twitter.com/jarongenota/statuses/496331365697081345Changes do really hurt. Ofcourse, I still wanted to have this resolved by both parties. Presscon later, can't wait for it. I am not sure as to who Palami pays, if it is the foreign-based players or their mother teams.

I think it is not the payslip that makes the most sacrifices of the foreign-based players its their PROFESSIONAL CAREER. WE ARE NOT BRAZIL, GERMANY, SPAIN, ARGENTINA, COLOMBIA OR PORTUGAL OR OTHER MAJOR FOOTBALL SUPERPOWERS, we are only Philippines.
We cannot demand european clubs(except for FIFA international days) to release our players for tournaments yet our players want to play for us. THEY CAN GET EQUAL OR BETTER PLAYERS than our foreign based filipino players at the same or lower salary.
If Iam an owner of a club lets say a small club playing in a Division 1 of a European league. Would I want to get NT players who always go overseas to play for his NT? I will take the financial risk, risk of relegation, the risk that i will LOSE players in middle of the season. Do I want that? I will not sign him anymore. Kaya wag tayo magtaka kung bakit wala ng kontrata ang mga foreign based players natin after maglaro para sa Azkals

We may be only Philippines but let's be honest here, being an international is a plus in finding a club. Muller benefited when he was referred by Zubi, Steuble in MLS, Patino in TPL. ironically, even Neil Etheridge in time get some lift from being Philippines #1. Fulham fans had been wondering then why he was kept. they said he must be just for marketing because of his 100k followers on twitter & also an addition to the club's list of internationals. why do you think he threw a tantrum of being left out of THE Peace Cup line up when before he didn't even didn't care? not being #1 of such lowly country is worse than being clubless.

Maybe their travel fare which is expensive when flying from europe, accomodation and miscellaneous expenses. Of course if in case they are not being paid at least the management have to shoulder everything they need for the whole duration of their stay with the team. And it costs alot.

i say NO ive been watching football for at list 10 years thanks to my indonisan friend.i saw alot of improvement under dooley watched mcmany weiss and now dooley.so far the style of dooley is very organize and different. if your unfit go ahead go to the gym not post something on tweeter. we all know the ethridge comment started everything and we all know that ethridge was the golden goalie for the philippines before. His acting like a kid solve it with dialog not shouting out in tweeter. Players wants to be a Coach Coach wants to be a Coach. let the coach do his job we need change. our old system dosent work (HEADLESS CHICKEN). I saw that tweet! It seemed so unusual for him to complain out loud about being excluded from the peace cup. The same with Cagara. But now I see why because both of them have no club yet (?) and are available. Still, the peace cup tournament is a minor tournament to make a massive issue out of resigning etc. I have always had the impression that the peace cup tournament would be "given" to mostly local players or young players to give them experience and also because most fil-foreign abroad are expected to be unavailable. Even the Suzuki Cup I'm expecting most foreign-based players are not available or won't be released by their clubs. As to Neil and Cagara, I respect them as players. They are obviously more talented & highly experienced than most local players but perhaps the priority first should be finding a club? JMHO. The outbursts just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, I'm waiting for the presscon also so I can hear the other side.

Ang init ng issue nung hindi na magsusuit up si Stephan Schrock.. so far siya best and most talented player sa Philippines and Southeast Asia... Remember when Phil and James Younghusband are excluded from the first Peace Cup? Hindi masyado lumaki ang issue since maraming talented na players na pwede humalili sa pwesto nila....
Speaking of first peace cup, I hope Dennis Wolf will consider playing again for the NT, so far he is one of the best dribbler and handler of ball, we could turn him into Central Attacking midfielder instead of striker or center forward position.
I hope they resolve the issue before Peace Cup or Suzuki Cup.

If I remember it correctly, Neil was also ranting when Weiss chose to start Muller over him in a friendly held here (Neil played in the second half). It seems that he rants whenever he feels disrespected.

I'm kinda baffled by these players comments. I mean its not new for them. Cagara, Schrock and Etheridge are not "tier 1 " players of their clubs(they're rotating players-->coming as subs). So what makes them think their "automatic" for first line-up in the azkals?. Kinda immature to be honest.
I kinda admire players like Jerry Lucena, who despite a big player and legend in Denmark(Esbjerg). You never heard him complain a single bit. Even though he came as sub in the azkals. He just performs and let the coach do his job.
All I can say is dooley is doing a real good job with trying out young players. Cuz remember, they are the future of the azkals. These players(schrock, etheridge, cagara) should be mature about this. You can't expect to be in first team always, you need to give others a chance and don't let success goes through your heads.

This is a sad development for me. I wish goodluck on our NT, I hope Mike Ott, Stephan Palla, Takahashi Yuji and Iain Ramsey could still play for us despite the development of the events.
Of all the three players, I think a shrock is a big loss to us. I hope future German-Filipino talents would still come over and represent our country in the future tournaments.
I hope for a successful Peace Cup despite the turn of events this week.
OT: Why is Alvaro Silva is not invited in the Peace Cup? I wonder so much.

Both of them are the number 1 in terms of their position in the Azkals pool. And also Stephan Schrock is one of the best player of the Greuther Furth playing the RB and LM position prior to his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim..
