The Indian Super League began this weekend. What's interesting is the list of marquee players below. Impressive. But I counter with four letters: NASL. I wonder if the organizers and sponsors have ever studied the history and demise of the North American Soccer League. Big names as well and for a time and in some games, packed stadiums. In a few years the league folded and failed financially.
Whatever the model of UFL is, it's not to bring big names to the teams and for that I'm thankful. It seems there's a slow and steady effort to grow the popularity before anything else. That's a good thing.
