Dooley has been around less than a year. I think he deserves the chance to mold this team into a better unit for a longer period of time.

Coach Dooley was given a 1 year contract when he was selected as our coach and this is the statistics of our games under his realm for 2014.
20 Games 10 Wins 4 Draws 6 Loss Win Ratio: 50%
Note: Only Official FIFA matches
With this, he deserves for a contract extension.
During his realm: 1. We really improved a lot from him. 2. We are now less dependent on some foreign-based players as he utilized local players. 3. Supports UFL as he watch some games to scout potential players for the team.
This is just the start for him, let him continue. For sure if he will hold us for another year or more, we could learn new techniques from him.
It's difficult to replace a coach as the players may tend to forget what they learned from previous and learn the new one.
What the Philippine Football needs to improve: 1. Improve Grassroots program. (Childrens must love the sports at young age to develop their skills.) 2. More facilities (It's good to see that FIFA goal projects are currently under construction) 3. Strengthen our local professional league. (Thais and Viets players are from their professional leagues. I heard PFF is planning for a national league to replace UFL last year or early this year.)
Well this is my concern. I hope Coach Dooley will do something about this.
Now the AFC Challenge Cup is gone, how can we get a major tournament trophy if the only Asian tournaments we can compete now are Asian Cup and Suzuki Cup if in Suzuki Cup we couldn't pass the semis?
We can get trophies in minor tournaments eg. Peace Cup.
Getting a major tournament trophy will decrease trolls especially solid basketball fans that keeps the team down.
I'm still optimistic that Coach Dooley can get a major tournament trophy for Philippines. Well we have a boost for 2016 edition since one group will be held here.

Dooley is not just a good coach. He is a UEFA qualified licensed teacher. He has proven his credentials here in the US by helping a lot of young players improve their game. This is ideal for our young players on the national team. It would be hard to find another coach that has this credentials as well.

Sorry, I am being conservative here. I will only give the benefit of the doubt and give Dooley only a year before I would consider him for the long-term through the next Suzuki Cup in 2016. The gauge will be the World Cup/Asian Cup Qualifiers in the middle of next year.
Dooley needs to fix burnt bridges with some players, especially Schrock, Cagara and Etheridge. Or yet, keep off any future friction between his players soon.

Hi stellarboy! I'm all for fixing burned bridges but the players do need to play within Dooley's system. There's a noticeable improvement in how the team plays and I'd like to see it play out as long as it seems like we're continuing to move forward in progress. But you're right. There will come a point, as it did with Weiss, when it will become apparent that all benefit from Dooley's leadership will have been wrung out. When that time comes I'll be all for having him replaced for someone to bring us to the "next next level". Unless, of course, someone in the level of Klinsmann or Mourinho will offer to coach us sooner.

Possible Outcome:
Prediction-1, Let TD finish his contract, fire him afterwards.. then, hire another coach (also for a year) imposing another system, and if can't still win a major tournament, fire him instantly... hire... new system... no trophy....fire..
Prediction-2, TD extends for a durable contract duration, improve more on the current system, utilize more local-based and "young" players, and see how it goes..
for me, I prefer#2, since it will be more "beneficial" system-wise.

I say extend Dooley's contract up to the next Suzuki Cup in 2016, and then assess after that. He knows what he is doing and he has been able to develop young players based locally. Heck, he even has improved Bahadoran to some extent. If anything, that alone is proof he's the coach we need at the moment.
Dooley needs time because he evidently has a system of playing in mind and is molding the team to play within that system. We saw that system at work convincingly against Laos and Indonesia, but we also saw how there is a lot of work yet to be done to make that system work against much better teams such as Vietnam and Thailand. For that to happen he needs time and proper support.
Three semis in the Suzuki Cup in a row shows consistency, we are now undoubtedly one of the top four teams of ASEAN. Dooley should be given the target to win the one in 2016. Realistically, we are not ready to make it to the Asian Cup, much less the World Cup. I hope that the qualifiers next year will be treated as opportunities to prepare the team that will compete in the 2016 Suzuki Cup. It is obvious our players, the young ones especially, need more exposure and experience against tough, and much better teams. The qualifiers will provide that opportunity for them. I think that is the best way to approach Dooley's contract extension.

we badly needed Dooley to continue the system he started and its the job of the PFF to adress to the buwayas at POC to please allow our boys develop their talents in participating seagames and asian games. look at thailand this is the group of players that won the gold medal in seagames in myanmar and finishes top 4 of the resent asiangames in s. korea. look at how they play
