They look like they came to the game with nothing to show.. a big disappointment after keeping a scoreless draw against a better squad in DPR Korea...

Bad game by the Azkals. From the start the team looked erratic, I felt the Midfield was not doing a good job of controlling the ball and feeding it forward. I think we really missed Schrock and Phil there instead of them being out front. But the problem is that if you put those two in middle, Patino isn't there as a target man.

With this loss what are our chances making it to the next round?
NK won against Yemen earlier..

I believe that we are now definitely out of the next round. We couldn't afford a loss today, but we lost so it looks like that's it. I believe we have two more games left but those will be mostly for pride.
On to the next prize, then: The 2016 Suzuki Cup ...

a very lethargic performance by the team. but can't blame the players though, maybe fatigue kicked in after a long travel time

if we come out lucky and win the last 3 games which is unlikely then we still have a chance. but from the looks of it, i think we're done. Misagh would've made a difference if he started over Reichelt

Three more games, actually. If I'm not mistaken, its going to be North Korea and Yemen at our home, and Uzbekistan away. Yemen is supposed to be winnable, but the other two are quite tough ...

This game was a big letdown because after that strong showing against North Korea, I was expecting that we would really win this one.
But I am inclined to believe that the long travel times really affected the team a lot, I think next time we will need to factor that into our planning.

I thought only the 2nd best teams are qualified for asian cup? if that's so, then we still have something to cheer for. does all 3rd ranked team automatically qualified for asian cup 2019?
