I think hikaru along with omid deserves a call-up for the azkals. Both are really great midfielders Unfortunately both have "issues". Hikaru is the very player involved re Global FC's suspension frm last year's UFL Cup while Omid's status for switching allegiance is still under review from FIFA. Hoping for a favorable outcome. That was Satoshi Otomo. Hikaru's mom is from Bicol.

Nope it's the 2nd time they've been involved in this violation 1st is Satoshi Otomo last 2014 then last year it's Minegishi. Here is Global's most recent player list with Minegishi's name in color marked for foreign players and his nationality as Japanese.

I'm referring to your comment as the reason of Global's suspension. It was Otomo not Minegishi. Thought Minegishi's case was settled already, guess he still didn't have a Filipino passport to be listed as foreigner. __ Villanueva & Clarino are also improving & playing solid lately. Is Amani injured?

Just curious, are Japanese not allowed to have dual citizenship? Can't see any reason why Minegishi hasn't sorted this out until now. Not only him but also the club will also benefit from it.

...along with omid deserves a call-up for the azkals. Both are really great midfielders The first and last time I saw Omid was against Meralco. He came in as a sub. Ive always liked him, in fact my very first post in UF was on his personal page. Anyway I was thoroughly underwhelmed when I saw him play. It was kinda ho-hum really. I began to wonder if this was why hes now looking to play for the PNT rather than Iran. I hope Im wrong. Have you seen any of his more recent games? Sorry Im really not trying to be a prick about it, I just want to hear anyone else whove seen him play recently. PS Yes I saw the short RHB clip but highlights make everyone look like superstars.

www.espnfcasia.com/blog/football-asia/153/post/2902862/dominant-tampines-claim-advantage-against-global-in-singapore-cup-qfTampines Rovers moved one big step closer to the last four of the Singapore Cup after cruising to 3-1 win over Global FC in the first leg of their quarterfinal on Wednesday night. Billy Mehmet got the Stags on their way at Jurong West Stadium with a close-range finish in the 13th minute before Misagh Bahadoran fired the Philippine visitors level just before the break following a fine team move. However, the hosts always looked in control of proceedings and reclaimed the lead through a Fazrul Nawaz effort a minute after the hour mark. Then, Hafiz Abu Sujad sealed a fifth consecutive victory under new head coach Akbar Nawas by scoring a third seven minutes later. The result leaves Global with plenty to do in Saturday's second leg at Jalan Besar Stadium, although they certainly showed enough to suggest they could be in with a chance of mounting a fight back. They came close to opening the scoring after just four minutes in the first leg when Hikaru Minegishi danced his way past a defender on the left but could only fire wide of the far post. Then, with their first real opening of the contest, Tampines broke the deadlock after Jermaine Pennant played a terrific pass to release Hafiz. His low cross into the six-yard box was swept home with a first-time shot by Mehmet. Global thought they had pulled level immediately after when Bahadoran got in behind the opposition defence, but the strike was ruled out for offside. Even so, they refused to be deterred and pulled level a minute before halftime. Omid Nazari did well to keep play alive down the right before picking out Matthew Hartmann. He unselfishly played in Bahadoran, who skipped inside Joey Sim before firing into the back of the net. The equaliser looked to have put the wind in Global's sails but, instead, it was the Stags who struck next in the 61st minute. Fazrul, latching onto Izzdin's through-pass, clinically fired past Patrick Deyto to continue his excellent recent run of form. Once again, Global looked to have responded instantly but Bahadoran again had a strike correctly ruled out for offside. Seven minutes later, the hosts edged further ahead when Webb did well to release Irwan Shah, who played an inch-perfect cut-back for Hafiz to slam home. Despite now having a two-goal cushion to sit back on, Tampines continued to push forward and could have even added a couple more goals. They will still head into Saturday's second leg very much the favourites to progress into the last semifinals. Tampines Rovers: Joey Sim, Jufri Taha, Fahrudin Mustafic, Shakir Hamzah, Irwan Shah, Jordan Webb, Jermaine Pennant (Sufian Anuar 84'), Izzdin Shafiq, Hafiz Abu Sujad (Christopher van Huizen 82'), Billy Mehmet (Yasir Hanapi 75'), Fazrul Nawaz Global FC: Patrick Deyto, Charles Pettys, Amani Aguinaldo, Milan Nikolic, Marco Casambre (Jerry Barbaso 46'), Dennis Villanueva (Mario Clarino 39'), Matthew Hartmann, Serge Kaole, Omid Nazari, Hikaru Minegishi, Misagh Bahadoran (Paolo Bugas 74')

Philippines outfit Cere La Salle put up a dominant performance at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Thursday night to thrash 2015 S.League champions Brunei DPMM 3-0 in their Singapore Cup quarterfinal first leg tie. Goals from Manuel Ott and Stephan Schrock inside the first 30 minutes put the visitors in cruise control, before the latter scored his second in the 72nd minute to seal a resounding victory for Ali Bernard's side. Ceres were to end the game with just 10 men though, as Ott was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident late on and will miss Sunday's second leg at the same venue. The United Football League (UFL) outfit dominated the game right from the start and managed to break the deadlock after just 15 minutes. Released by a neat Bienvenido Morejon through ball, Ott found himself in acres of space inside the box to blast home a first-time finish. The visitors continued to be on top of proceedings and duly doubled the advantage 11 minutes later. Star man Schrock went past a couple of DPMM defenders, before unleashing a blistering 20-yard drive that proved to be too hot for DPMM goalkeeper Wardun Yussof to handle. DPMM tried to hit back on 33 minutes, but Azwan Salleh's fierce volley from outside the box was matched by a flying save from Ceres keeper Louie Casas. The Wasps created another excellent opening seven minutes later when Maududi Hilmi went through on goal via Azwan's diagonal ball, but the former could only fire wide of the right-hand post. Steve Kean's side continued to pile on the pressure in the second period, with captain Rosmin Kamis bending a shot that looked destined for the top right corner before Casas' acrobatic intervention. Ceres managed to weather the storm and extend their lead to three in the 72nd minute. Winger Patrick Reichelt picked out Shrock with a delightful cross from the right, and the former German Bundesliga man flicked home from close range. Their night was slightly marred by Ott's 85th-minute sending off for an altercation with Rafael Ramazotti that left coach Bernard seething at the end of the game. "A few more minutes to go and leading 3-0, you do these kind of things," he lamented. "I'm very disappointed by that, but things like that happen in football. "It was important that we got the third goal because it gave us breathing space for the second leg. But we have to know that DPMM is a very strong team; it'll be important that to hold them in the first 20 to 25 minutes on Sunday." Meanwhile DPMM counterpart Kean is not throwing in the towel just yet despite the seemingly unassailable deficit. "It was a poor first half from us, but the second half gave us good encouragement," said the former Blackburn Rovers tactician. "We started to put more pressure in the middle and asked a few questions of them. "If we can start the first half of the second leg in the same manner, then maybe we have a good chance (to turn things around)." Brunei DPMM: Wardun Yussof (GK), Rosmin Kamis (C), Yura Indera Putera, Brian McLean, Helmi Zambin, Azwan Salleh (Azim Izamuddin 76'), Nurikhwan Othman (Adi Said 46'), Najib Tarif, Maududi Hilmi, Azwan Ali (Shahrazen Said 46'), Rafael Ramazotti Ceres La Salle: Louie Casas (GK), Carlos Martinez (Marwin Angeles 74'), Kim Sang Min (C), Jason Sabio, Kevin Ingreso (Nathaniel Burkey 45'), Bienvenido Morejon, Manuel Ott, Paul Mulders, Jeffrey Christiaens, Stephan Schrock, Patrick Reichelt

RHB Singapore Cup (Quarter-Finals 2nd Leg) Ceres La Salle vs Brunei DPMM (Sunday, 3 July, 8pm, Jalan Besar Stadium) United Football League defending champions Ceres La Salle will be keen to continue their winning run in their first-ever RHB Singapore Cup campaign when they take on Brunei DPMM in the second-leg of the quarter-finals on Sunday night at Jalan Besar Stadium. The Busmen defeated Garena Young Lions in the preliminary round to reach the quarter-finals, and after a 3-0 victory over the Wasps in the first-leg, they are 90 minutes away from making the semi-finals where a meeting with Tampines Rovers awaits. However, Ceres will first need to avoid complacency against the Wasps, as well as conceding early to secure their passage. They will also look to frustrate DPMM, who will most definitely adopt an attacking approach. The Philippines side will miss the services of three key players in the likes of Manuel Ott after the German-born Filipino was sent off in the first-leg for a brush-up with Rafael Ramazotti, while winger Patrick Reichelt and Carlos De Murga are also suspended. Stephen Shrock looks set to continue his imperious form for Ceres, after netting a brace against the Bruneians and is someone that Wasps have to stop if they want to win this tie. As for DPMM, while they were shambolic in the first-half against Ceres, their second-half performance where they created decent chances will give them a glimmer of hope that the tie is still alive for them. The Wasps will also be boosted by the return of Paulo Sergio, whom they sorely missed in the attacking third against Ceres, as the Portuguese was suspended in that game. Suspensions: Manuel Ott, Carlos De Murga and Patrick Reichelt (all Ceres La Salle) Ceres La Salle - 30/06/16 Brunei DPMM 0-3 Ceres La Salle (Singapore Cup) 25/06/16 Stallion FC 1-4 Ceres La Salle (United Football League) 18/06/16 Ceres La Salle 4-2 JP Voltes FC (United Football League) 15/06/16 Forza FC 0-10 Ceres La Salle (United Football League) 11/06/16 Pasargad FC 0-16 Ceres La Salle (United Football League) Brunei DPMM - LWDWL 30/06/16 Brunei DPMM 0-3 Ceres La Salle (Singapore Cup) 24/06/16 Balestier Khalsa 1-4 Brunei DPMM (S.League) 19/06/16 Garena Young Lions 1-1 Brunei DPMM (S.League) 11/06/16 Tampines Rovers 4-3 Brunei DPMM (S.League) 19/05/16 Home United 5-0 Brunei DPMM (S.League)

RHB Singapore Cup 2016: Ceres Hold Off DPMM Fightback To Progress Into Semis [RHB Singapore Cup 2016: Ceres Hold Off DPMM Fightback To Progress Into Semis] Written by: Ryan Low Philippines invitee Ceres La Salle lost 3-2 to Brunei DPMM in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, but still won 5-3 on aggregate to progress into the last four of the 2016 RHB Singapore Cup. After winning the first leg 3-0, Ceres pulled further ahead via goals in each half by Stephan Schrock and Bienvenido Morejon at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday night. DPMM fought back well with goals from Shahrazen Said, Rafael Ramazotti and Brian McLean to win the game on the night, but it was not enough to prevent them from crashing out of the competition. [CERDPM (18)] Ceres stamped their authority early in the game and scored after just 16 minutes, with Schrock thumping home a brilliant first-time volley after Jeffrey Christiaens had headed Jalsor Soriano’s deep cross into his path. The reigning United Football League (UFL) champions then extended their lead in the 53rd minute as Spanish wide man Morejon managed to spot DPMM goalkeeper Wardun Yussof off the line before producing a stunning chip that sailed into goal from 18 yards out. Credit to DPMM, they did let their heads down despite the five-goal deficit on aggregate and duly pulled one back just a minute later. Half-time substitute Shahrazen turned well in the box, before firing past Ceres custodian Louie Casas to hand his side a lifeline. [CERDPM (40)] The Wasps drew level on the night on 63 minutes, with Brazilian front man Ramazotti heading home Adi Said’s accurate right-wing cross. Steve Kean’s side kept pushing forward in the dying moments of the game and grabbed another goal on the stroke of full time. Paulo Sergio’s free kick picked out McLean, who rose the highest in the box to nod past the outstretched left arm of Casas. However it was too little too late as the S.League champions’ wait for a first-ever Singapore Cup continues. [CERDPM (49)] Ceres La Salle head coach Ali Bernard: “The first half and start of the second half was good, but we made one mistake to allow DPMM to come back. That gave them extra power to finish the game strongly, but we finished our job which is to qualify for the semi-finals. “It’ll be interesting for all of Singapore football to see Tampines vs Ceres. We played them twice in the AFC Cup earlier this year, so we know they’re a very good team. Hopefully we get a full squad back here and of course we’re targeting to win this competition.” [CERDPM (50)] Brunei DPMM head coach Steve Kean: “Analysing both games, we saw a dramatic improvement in each second half – that’s the main reason why we lost. “We gave them too much respect in the first halves; only when there is nothing to lose in the second halves, then we started to compete and not allow them too much time on the ball. It all comes down to self-belief and determination. Also their goalkeeper made six unbelievable saves over the two legs.” Ceres La Salle: Louie Casas (GK), Jalsor Soriano, Jason Sabio, Kim Sang Min (C), Kevin Ingreso, Bienvenido Morejon, Paul Mulders (Arnie Jr. Pasinabo 55’), Marwin Angeles (Son Yong Chan 90’), Jeffrey Christiaens, Stephan Schrock, Nathaniel Burkey (Marvin Angeles 90’) Brunei DPMM: Wardun Yussof (GK), Rosmin Kamis (C), Yura Indera Putera (Shahrazen Said 46’), Brian McLean, Helmi Zambin, Azwan Salleh, Maududi Hilmi (Hendra Azam 56’), Najib Tarif, Azwan Ali (Adi Said 46’), Rafael Ramazotti, Paulo Sergio sleague.com/match-report/singapore-cup/2016/july/2016-07-03/ceres-la-salle-fc/
