superior show of force last night by the busmen. the opposition was simply overwhelmed by the talents of the negros boys
the global fc fixture was exciting too even though the result wasn't what we've wished for. 'twas a good fightback though when sanchez, & roberts together w/ dos santos and the boys exhibited a lot of grit to force a draw against the fighting visiting team from vietnam

Group F Ceres Negros will advance to the ASEAN Zonal semi-finals if the Filipino side avoid defeat when they host Singapore’s Home United on Wednesday. Unbeaten in their five Group F games, Ceres are the tournament’s top scorers and Bienvenido Maranon’s hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Cambodia’s Boeung Ket FC two weeks ago edged them closer to the knockout rounds. But a draw away at Home United earlier in the tournament in what was their only dropped points of the campaign means the Singaporean side, who defeated Myanmar's Shan United 3-2 two weeks ago, would win the group with victory in the Philippines.

Looks like Ceres will be battling Persija on the next round if they don't knock out Home United by 5 goals later. Could be one hell of an away match for Ceres in Gelora Bung Karno.

FT Ceres 0-2 Home. Probably Ceres's worst performance in years. But they still enter the knockout stage as the best second placers and will face Yangon United.

AFC Cup Preview: Yangon United v Ceres-Negros Ceres-Negros attempts to make history as they fight for a second consecutive appearance in the ASEAN Final when they play Yangon United in the second leg of zonal semifinal on May 16 at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. The Busmen were victorious in the first leg but two away goals gives the Myanmar squad some glimmer of hope as they play in searing conditions in Yangon. Ceres proved effective at home when they race to a 3-0 lead in the first half of the first leg. Bienvenido Maranon scored a glorious opening goal when he chipped Sann Sat Naing from a tight angle to the delight of the home fans. Patrick Reichelt doubled the lead minutes later when he pounced on a parried shot from Mike Ott while Maranon completed his brace a minute form halftime when he knocked in a free ball in front of goal. Yangon made amends in the second half when Seikou Sylla pounced on poor marking to hit the top corner to make things interesting. Super Herrera however had other things in mind when he nodded in a Manny Ott corner to regain the three goal advantage. Sloppy defending however dampened celebrations as Sylla scored his second to bring back important goals to the home leg in Yangon. United are unbeaten at home in the group stages with its tallying its biggest win via a 3-0 victory over Global Cebu. The streak however holds little relevance as their last two matches were only won by a solitary goal each. manny ott ceres negros yangon united afc cup 2028 Eyes will be on key players on Wednesday especially on the midfield. Manny Ott had a superb game, assisting the first and last goals of Ceres. Yangon winger Maung Maung Lwin was shutoff in the first leg to the detriment of his club who has seen him contributing assists and goals in the group stages. Maranon and Sylla are currently tied as top scorers in the the competition with nine goals while Sat Naing will need to replicate his eights saves to give his team a chance on getting to the final. Conditions will be critical as the match is set to kickoff at 330pm Myanmar time. Temperatures are expected to reach 36 degrees with a heat index of 41 degrees. Yangon will be well rested to deal with the weather while Ceres will bank on prior experience in afternoon matches to force a result in Myanmar. The match will be shown live via Fox Sports (1) and their equivalent Fox streams. Ceres-Negros will need protect their two-goal advantage in the first leg to ensure their place in the Final legs in August. ceresfootball.com/afc-cup-preview-yangon-united-v-ceres-negros/

AFC Cup: The Busmen are Raring To Go Against The Protectors Just more than a week before their AFC Cup Stint, Ceres-Negros FC will defend the fort of Panaad Stadium against Home United FC who looks to make it past the Zonal finals to face 4.25 SC in the Inter-zonal Play-offs. Head-to-Head In terms of their win-loss ratio against each other, Home United has the upper hand as they’ve won two of their four matches in the regional club tournament. Ceres, on the other hand don’t see this as an advantage for the Singaporean side as they’ve shown in the past that they can produce a surprise just like how they did in Brisbane. Nevertheless, both squad needs to prepare really well if they want to progress to the next round as neither of them has been slumping in their own league over the last five games. Looking first on Home United’s league form, they’ve won the last three out of five games and managing to keep the other two results as a draw. Their most recent win was against Brunei DPMM where they won two goals to one to bring them a point closer to Tampines Rover at second to book a place in next year’s AFC Cup as the league has been decided already through a 20-point gap at the top courtesy of Albirex Nigata. Bolstering their Squad With title hopes on the line and looking to progress farther than the inter-zonal finals, Ceres-Negros FC utilised the mid-season transfer window to secure quality players to help them boost their bid for the AFC Cup trophy. Among the busmen’s notable signings are Blake Powell, Curt Dizon, and returnees Paul Mulders and Roland Muller. Powell’s coming into the Busmen’s line-up after a stint with Central Coast Mariners. Having scored four goals in 19 appearances with them this season, he’s looking to improve on that upon his arrival in Panaad. He’ll pose a big threat against Home United should he start against them once they face each other. Mulders return to Negros after a short stint with rivals Global-Cebu FC and looks to pick up where he left off. Along with Curt Dizon who also joins from Global, Mulders will be a dominant force in the midfield and will look to provide a helping hand to Powell in their attacking prowess. Muller on the other hand would have to fight for his starting position against a well-experienced Toni Doblas. His edge against Doblas though will be his familiarity of the region. All in all, these additions will not be justified should they not produce the result they are looking to for against Home United. One thing’s for sure, this match-up will not be short of any firepower from both squads as they look to lay everything on the line to make it to the next round of the competition www.foxsports.ph/football/asian-football/afc-cup/887235/afc-cup-the-busmen-are-raring-to-go-against-the-protectors/

Looks like a good crowd at Panaad.
1:1 at 63 minutes, also when Schrock is substituted in.
