jimsar,
you might want to get a hold of Mr. Ernest Nierras at the PFF. He was the one I gave the suggestion to back in December to call for volunteers. I think he put an ad in Azkals.com last January, doing just that and I believed had responses. I don't really know what the hang up is.

If you go to FIFA.com and click on the Philippines, it lists the official PFF website as www.the-pff.com. I've got news for you. This domain's registration expired on 09-May-2011... Thanks for the heads-up. We (pinoyfootball.com) also have that domain listed as the "official PFF site". Time for a change, I guess— once we know what to change it to, that is. I wouldn't say embarrassing, but it sure is terribly frustrating. I know for a fact that there have been volunteers; because I'm one of those who volunteered (and that was even before I got on board pinoyfootball.com). I don't believe it's a question of money; rather, it's a question of getting themselves organised in terms of information management. To be fair though, there are indeed guys like Ernie Nierras who take time to keep people updated via Facebook. Dan Palami is also known to post in the PinoyFootball group and the Azkals fan page whenever matters regarding the Azkals need to be clarified. But I have to agree with you— there's simply no substitute for an independent PFF website. It's also quite possible that their experience with their previous webmaster was really traumatic. LOL. Check out part of the story here and another part here (2nd paragraph).

"Don't let the PERFECT be the enemy of the GOOD".
- Francois-Marie Arouet (No, he's not the IMF chief. He's the French writer and philosopher also known as Voltaire.) Samhain13: Interesting insight, it confirms my suspicion that this is not simply a money, talent or technical issue. It usually isn't. Hope it gets resolved soon. To paraphrase Nike, "Just do it". Although symbolic at best, my offer stands.

I suspect this is total reflection of the way things are run inside the federation
IT people are relatively affordable in the Philippines and I read some ware that the Federation was looking for volunteers to maintain the site...how embarrassing
If you can't maintain an website what chance does one have to run a Football Federation

Not sure if there's a thread about this topic already but just want to ask, is there an official PFF or Azkal website? Saw the official site of Philippine Rugby Team so was wondering if they have any. Hope they consider making one since football is growing in the country. Would be good for aspirants and fans of the sport.

Well I'm sure they are stupid if they don't take this offer on the other hand, it's quite embarrassing that we don't have a official PFF website, and I would like to know why. A lack of webdesigners? A lack of money? A lack of motivation? I don't think it's the 3 things I just mentioned. What's the PFF's problem then? JIMSAR, I thank you for taking initiave, and if you need a graphical designer for making logo's or such, you can always contact me

But we're both far away, thousands of miles from where the action (or inaction? ) is, and can only share the frustration. I've concluded just as you did that it's not for lack of money or web talent. Maybe you've hit upon it, it's lack of motivation? We're again approaching fever pitch (pun intended) in Azkal interest level! It won't reflect positively on the Federation that it's own website has an expired URL. To quote Vizzini of The Princess Bride, 'INCONCEIVABLE"

I asked Mr. Nierras about this guys, he said we should all just wait because the website is a big project. So instead of being frustrated, let us all be excited; knowing that the PFF site is not just an ordinary website.

At the risk of sounding senile or ulianin, please let me re-quote Voltaire:

still nothing on this? It's frustrating having to check facebook, blogs, to check for news and official statements. And I'm not about to trust what I read on the Philippines media. An official site is terribly needed specially to find out the actual players on the squad on match day.

I'll take another stab at this. Again.
According to Mr. Nieras, "we should all just wait because the website is a big project ". I wonder, are they actively working on this? I mean, is the design done, and the programmers are currently busy cranking out code?
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - old Chinese proverb.
A good first step is to renew the website domain. Come on, it's less than $10 a year! Landing on an expired domain name is an embarrassment to Filipinos. At least put up a page that says "Under Construction".
Or maybe, they're thinking of changing to a more "attractive" domain name?
Here's where we can all pitch in. Why not hold an Usapangfootball "name the new domain contest"? (Just make sure the domain name is still available.) Hold a poll of likely candidates, then provide the top 3 winners to PFF.
Another constructive exercise is to use this thread as a platform for suggestions on what we want / need to see in the new website. Assuming that it hasn't been designed yet. Anyone care to start?
With those two suggestions, plus the folks here who have actually volunteered to do the programming, what else will keep the PFF from moving forward? Can the mods talk to Mr. Nieras again?

With www.pinoyfootball.com and usapang football around, Im not to excited for a "PPF Official website". I think guys running this 2 websites are doing a great job. They always get the latest.
