08 February 2019 Kaya FC–Iloilo to host 2019 AFC Cup Matches in Panaad Stadium Despite exhausting all efforts to prepare the venue, Iloilo Sports Complex remains short of the stadium standards required by AFC to host. February 8, 2019 NEWS Kaya FC–Iloilo would like to announce that the venue for our upcoming home games in the 2019 AFC Cup will be held in Panaad Stadium in Bacolod. The club wanted nothing more than to bring AFC Cup football to the Iloilo Sports Complex, but despite exhausting all efforts to prepare the venue, ISC remains short of the stadium standards required to host an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) contest. Currently, the only available AFC-approved stadium in the Philippines is Panaad Stadium, and the Negros Occidental government, along with Ceres Negros, have been gracious in welcoming us. Kaya FC–Iloilo would like to express our gratitude to the Provincial Government of Iloilo for their unwavering support over the first year of our flourishing partnership, and for all the efforts in upgrading the Iloilo Sports Complex. We remain committed to developing football in the region, and we are hopeful that soon we will be able to give Iloilo a firsthand experience of the excitement of hosting AFC matches. The team still intends to train in Iloilo in the lead up to our AFC Cup games, and the club would like to invite all our supporters to make the short trip with us from Iloilo to Bacolod. Your voice and encouragement would be a massive help in our return to the Asian stage. www.kayafc.com/news/kaya-fc-iloilo-to-host-2019-afc-cup-matches-in-panaad-stadium/

Kaya FC–Iloilo Fire Five Past ASEAN Champions in First AFC Cup Home Match Kaya FC–Iloilo (Philippines) 5-0 Home United FC (Singapore) March 13, 2019 Panaad Stadium March 13, 2019; Bacolod, Philippines – Kaya FC–Iloilo made sure their first home match in the 2019 AFC Cup was one to remember. Braces from Darryl Roberts and Alfred Osei, and a goal from Jovin Bedic fired the hosts to a five-goal victory over the reigning ASEAN champions from Singapore, Home United. Kaya got off to the perfect start, with Darryl Roberts heading in from close range in just the second minute of the match. “This whole week we’ve been working hard in training, especially on set pieces,” said Roberts, who was named Man of the Match. “We just executed what was taught on the training pitch and for the first one it worked out well.” The visitors then threatened to level the score almost immediately, but were denied by a goal-line clearance. “We got an early wake up call. Masanari Omura was able to stop an opportunity from Home United. That woke us up. We then accepted the challenge, created opportunities, and we scored goals,” said Noel Marcaida after the match. The second goal came just after the half hour mark. Roberts made the assist, as Jovin Bedic cut inside his man and blasted a shot past the keeper to double the advantage. Darryl made it three not long after, latching on to Connor Tacagni’s low cross for a close range finish. Iloilo entered the break flying with confidence, and they kept their foot on the gas in the second, scoring almost instantly after the restart. From a free kick, Roberts broke free from his man and cut the ball back for Jordan Mintah. The Ghanaian forward’s shot was blocked, but the ball fell kindly for Alfred Osei to place in the top corner from close range. Osei then doubled his tally in the 56th minute. Mintah’s cross was headed away, but only as far as Alfred, who clinically volleyed the ball for Iloilo’s fifth of the match. Roberts, Mintah, and substitute Yannick Tuason all came close to adding a sixth as Kaya kept ramping up the pressure, but United were spared any additional damage. “This victory really means a lot to us. Not only is it a gift for our boss, Santi Araneta, who celebrated his birthday two days ago, and for Mike Casas who celebrated yesterday, it’s for one of our players whose mom is in a critical situation,” said Marcaida. The victory pushed the Filipino club to four points and a goal difference of five, enough to top Group H. Kaya is followed by Indonesia’s PSM Makassar, who after their 7-3 victory against Lao Toyota, are behind only on goal difference. Laos’ champions and Home United round out the group. Kaya next travel to Indonesia to face PSM on April 2. www.kayafc.com/match/10727-kaya-fc%E2%80%93iloilo-v-home-united/

Ceres makes it 2 wins in as many games at AFC Cup CERES-NEGROS FC maintained its control of Group G in the 2019 AFC Cup with another victory on Tuesday night over Becamex Binh Duong, 3-1, in Vietnam. Getting a splendid performance from Spaniard Bienvenido Maranon, the “Busmen” made it two victories in as many games in group play of the ongoing tournament to take solid leadership in the grouping with six points. Mr. Maranon silenced the home team early as he out-witted Becamex goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong, stealing the ball from the latter in the host’s penalty area and tapping it into the net for a Ceres goal and the lead, 1-0, in the 26th minute. Becamex tried to get back the point for the rest of the opening half, creating some solid opportunities to score, but Ceres continued to hold sway by the halftime break. At the start of the second half both teams picked up the pace, looking to establish the momentum they needed to seize control of the match. The home team got the first dent in the second half when Brazilian Wander Luiz pulled Becamex even when he volleyed the ball inside the net in the 72nd minute. Ceres immediately regrouped though with Mr. Maranon scoring his second goal two minutes later to give back the lead to his team, 2-1. Mr. Maranon and the Busmen continued to put pressure on Becamex and created further separation, 3-1, in the 78th minute when the Spaniard completed his hat trick with help from teammate OJ Porteria. Becamex scrambled to make a late comeback on the lead of Wander Luiz but nothing would come of it as Ceres fought off everything that was thrown at it down the stretch en route to the victory, Following Tuesday’s fixtures in Group G, Ceres (2-0-0) is at solo first place, followed by Indonesia’ Persija Jakarta (1-1-0), Becamex (0-1-1) and Shan United FC of Myanmar (0-0-2). As per tournament format, the top teams in each of the groupings earn an automatic spot in the Zonal semifinals of the tournament. Ceres next plays on April 3 against Persija Jakarta at its home field of Panaad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City. www.bworldonline.com/ceres-makes-it-2-wins-in-as-many-games-at-afc-cup/

01 April 2019 AFC CUP 2019 PREVIEW: CERES-NEGROS VS PERSIJA JAKARTA BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – A top of the table clash is in the cards as Ceres-Negros hosts Indonesian powerhouse Persija Jakarta on April 3 at the Panaad Stadium in Negros Occidental. The Philippine champions will face an Indonesian team for the first time in history with the visitors eyeing to snatch first place in the group when they visit Bacolod. Ceres-Negros has been steady on their first two matches after they edged Shan United with a 3-2 victory at home last February 26 and stunned Becamex Bin Duong with a crucial 3-1 victory away in Vietnam. Bienvenido Maranon’s heads up play which led to the opening goal set the tone for his hat trick made possible by the team’s wonderful performance in both halves. Persija meanwhile is also unbeaten after goalless draw against Becamex in the Gelora Bung Karno while they are still one-hundred percent in away games after dispatching of Shan United in Yangon after conceding early to secure full three points. Brazilian midfielder turned striker Bruno Matos headlined the win with two consecutive goals to snatch the life out of Shan while French forward Steven Paulle scored the other for the capital club. Ceres-Negros is on top of the table with six points followed by Persija who was four points. Persija comes in with better match fitness than Ceres after they concluded their pre-season tournament with a draw last March 28. The match will also feature national team stars for both squads with Indonesian legends Bambang Pamungkas and Ismed Sofyan traveling to Bacolod together with young playmaker Riko Simanjutnak. Philippine national players in Stephan Schrock, Kevin Ingreso, and Alvaro Silva will feature against the Jakarta-based squad Both teams will face each other in consecutive matchdays with the Jakarta leg set on April 23 at the historic Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in the Indonesian capital. Kickoff is set at 730pm at the iconic stadium with the match shown live on 5PLUS and Fox Sports (1). 01 April 2019 Kaya FC–Iloilo and PSM Makassar Set For Clash of Group H Leaders AFC Cup | Group H PSM Makassar (IND) vs Kaya FC–Iloilo (PHI) Kickoff: 4:00pm (PH Time) Pakansari Stadium, Bogor, Indonesia 1 April 2019; Bogor, Indonesia — Kaya FC–Iloilo are looking to solidify their spot as leaders of Group H, as they take on Indonesia’s PSM Makassar on Tuesday afternoon in the AFC Cup. The match will take place in the Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, and will kick off at 3pm local time. Both sides have four points after two outings, with the Filipino club slightly ahead on goal difference. “I think we all know the importance of tomorrow’s game. The result tomorrow will determine who will be top of the group after the first round of matches. It’s been a long wait for this game — 20 days. We’re excited and looking forward to tomorrow,” said Kaya head coach Noel Marcaida. “As players we are all looking forward to this game in Indonesia. It would give us a boost if ever we win the game tomorrow. We’ve been training really hard for this game. We know already what to do, so we just need to do our job and try to win the game and bring more confidence for the next games,” said Iloilo midfielder Marwin Angeles. Both clubs are fresh from impressive goal-filled outings in the AFC Cup. Iloilo dispatched of reigning ASEAN Champions, Home United, with a 5-0 scoreline, while Makassar thumped Lao Toyota 7-3, setting the stage for a potentially explosive encounter. “Tomorrow, we play against a club with the same points as us. We play against a club with specific qualities. We play at home, and I think based on our qualities, we can bring three points back to Makassar,” said PSM head coach Darije Kalezic. “They are a good, organized team. They keep the space very small when their opponent has ball possession. They make it difficult for their opponents to play within the lines. They are dangerous on the counter attack. We have to be wary of their striker. That they won 5-0 against Home United is not relevant information. We won against seven goals against Lao and we really should’ve scored 20.” “PSM is one of the oldest clubs in Indonesia. Looking at their AFC roster, they have an obvious height advantage. Tomorrow’s match will be different from our previous games (versus Lao Toyota and Home United). We’ve made plans specifically for tomorrow. They have very technical, skillful, and experienced players so we’re expecting a tough game tomorrow, and we’re ready to accept that challenge,” said Marcaida. Tomorrow’s match will be aired live on 5Plus (formerly AksyonTV) and on ESPN 5’s online platforms. www.kayafc.com/news/kaya-fc-iloilo-and-psm-makassar-set-for-clash-of-group-h-leaders/

02 April 2019 Angeles' late goal forces draw between Kaya Iloilo, PSM Makassar By Ivan Saldajeno MANILA—Marwin Angeles saved the best for last as Kaya Iloilo forced a 1-1 draw against PSM Makassar in their AFC Cup match at the Pakansari Stadium in Makassar on Tuesday. Angeles equalized in stoppage time as Iloilo now holds the top spot after the first round of Group H. Makassar looked to be on pace of taking the home win after a penalty from Eero Markkanen, the older brother of rising National Basketball Association star Lauri, in the 56th minute gave the club the lead. However, Jovin Bedic found Angeles wide open in a free kick in the third minute of extension, and the latter slotted the ball in for the tie. Both clubs are tied at five points after three games, but with Angeles' away goal, Iloilo owns the top spot ahead of their rematch on April 17 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod. www.dugout.ph/angeles-late-goal-forces-draw

AFC Cup 2019: Maranon on target again as Ceres-Negros see off Persija Jakarta Ceres-Negros have taken a big step towards the AFC Cup 2019 ASEAN Zone semi-finals after beating Persija Jakarta 1-0 in Wednesday’s top-of-Group-F clash at the Panaad Park and Stadium. Bienvenido Maranon netted the only goal of the game – and his fifth of the campaign already – in the 9th minute to hand the Philippine outfit the win, which sees them move five points clear at the top of the group at the halfway point of the group stage. As the only team in the ASEAN Zone still with a 100 per cent record of three consecutive wins, the Busmen are now on course to reach the knockout round for the third year in a row. In what was widely expected to be the tie of the round, it was the hosts who opened the scoring after just nine minutes. Coming in from the left, Martin Steuble floated an inch-perfect ball just over the last defender to pick out Maranon, who adjusted his body well to send a deft header past a stranded Andritany Ardhiyasa. Persija could have responded in the 18th minute when Ismed Sofyan went straight for a goal with a freekick from the left wing and forced Roland Muller into a good save. 42′ – Bambang with a horrendous miss! Bambang Pamungkas has passed on a gilt-edged chance to draw @persija_Jkt level missing a tap in in front of the goal! The 38-year-old Indonesia international is apparently yet to score in an AFC Club competition! #CERvPSJ #AFCCup2019 pic.twitter.com/1jStLP2sBY — FOX Sports LIVE! (@fsasialive) April 3, 2019 The visitors’ best chance of the opening 45 came three minutes before the interval when Ramdani Lestaluhu broke into the area with an enterprising charge before whipping a low cross to the back post, only for the legendary Bambang Pamungkas – with over 200 career goals to his name – to fire wide from five yards out. Ceres then could have doubled their tally five minutes into the second half after Kevin Ingreso was left in acres of space on the edge of the box, only to see his delicate effort clip the outside of the post having had Andritany beaten all ends up. 50′ – Hits the woodwork! Kevin Ingresso lets fly for #CeresNegros, but his effort strikes the outside of the post and goes out! #CERvPSJ #AFCCup2019 pic.twitter.com/iVuoe910Wh — FOX Sports LIVE! (@fsasialive) April 3, 2019 But, as the game wore on, Persija increased the intensity in their search for an equaliser but were just unable to find a way past a resilient Ceres, who can now start thinking about a repeat of 2017 when they were crowned ASEAN Zone champions. CERES-NEGROS: Roland Muller, Carli de Murga, Alvaro Silva, Manuel Herrera, Martin Steuble, Omid Nazari, Kevin Ingreso (Mahir Karic 69’), OJ Porteria (Miguel Tanton 78’), Stephan Schrock, Mike Ott, Bienvenido Maranon. PERSIJA JAKARTA: Andritany Ardhiyasa, Ismed Sofyan, Steven Paulle, Maman Abdurrahman, Dany Saputra, Rohit Chand, Ramdani Lestaluhu, Riko Simanjuntak, Bruno Matos (Fitra Ridwan 85’), Heri Susanto (Sandi Sute 66’), Bambang Pamungkas (Ryuji Utomo 89’). www.foxsportsasia.com/football/asian-football/afc-cup/1071961/afc-cup-2019-maranon-on-target-again-as-ceres-negros-see-off-persija-jakarta/

16 April 2019 AFC CUP GROUP H LEADERS KAYA FC–ILOILO AND PSM MAKASSAR TUSSLE IN PANAAD KAYA FC–ILOILO (PHI) vs PSM MAKASSAR (IND) WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2019 3PM | PANAAD STADIUM, BACOLOD 16 APRIL 2019; BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES — Two weeks after a dramatic 1-1 draw in Indonesia, Group H leaders Kaya FC–Iloilo and PSM Makassar face off once again, this time at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod, Philippines. Both teams are currently deadlocked with five points, with Kaya slightly ahead on goal difference. With third placed Home United just a point behind in the standings, Wednesday’s 3pm encounter provides a massive opportunity for both sides to create a cushion atop Group H. “It’s a crucial game. The team that gets maximum points will stay at the top of the table to start the second round,” said Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida. “The team that is hungrier to get the three points will get the result. It’s going to be a test of character, not just for our players, but for them as well. We expect them to work hard to get three points tomorrow, and we’re ready for that. If we have an answer for their set pieces, I think we’ll be having a positive outcome.” Given what’s at stake for both sides, Kaya goalkeeper Michael Casas is hoping home field advantage will play its part. Tomorrow will be a big game for us especially that we are here at home. We will get more confidence, especially from our fans traveling from Iloilo. We’re expecting PSM to do their best and for sure we’ll need to perform,” he said. “We’re expecting PSM to attack more and we’ve worked hard not only in training, but off the field as well. We’re studying their attacks. As coach said they’re dangerous in set pieces, they’re big boys. But we’re at home, our families are watching, so we’re motivated and we’re eager to win the game tomorrow.” PSM Makassar were on the way to taking all three points in the teams’ first meeting in Indonesia, but Eero Markkanen’s penalty was canceled out in thrilling fashion by a 93rd minute goal from Marwin Angeles. PSM’s head coach Darije Kalezic is expecting Wednesday’s encounter to be equally tight. “The first game showed us that we’re pretty much two equal teams. We have the same strengths. We played the first game 1-1 and I’m expecting tomorrow to be a tough game for both teams,” he said. Having thumped the reigning ASEAN Zone Champions, Home United, 5-0, in their last time out in Panaad, Kaya FC–Iloilo will be full of confidence playing in Bacolod once more. Head coach Noel Marcaida, however, is wary of any over confidence from his side. “Playing in Panaad will be to our advantage. It’s a home game away from home, but Panaad is in the Philippines, and we represent the country. We’re also used to playing at 3pm. We’re happy and we’re really looking forward to playing here in Panaad,” he said. “ But every AFC game is very important. This is a big stage. Whatever results came before are irrelevant. We need to focus on the match ahead.” Tickets to tomorrow’s match will be available at the stadium entrances. Prices are at: P20 for Bleachers, P50 for Grandstand, and P100 for VIP. For those unable to make it to the Panaad Stadium, the match will be aired live on 5Plus (formerly Aksyon TV), and will be streamed live over their website, and YouTube channel. www.kayafc.com/news/afc-cup-group-h-leaders-kaya-fc-iloilo-and-psm-makassar-tussle-in-panaad/

22 April 2019 AFC CUP 2019 PREVIEW: PERSIJA JAKARTA VS CERES-NEGROS Ceres-Negros and Persija Jakarta meet for the second time in history, this time in the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta for Matchday 4 on April 23. Both teams faced each other for the first time last April 3 at the Panaad Stadium where Ceres produced a vital 1-0 victory against the visitors. Maranon was the lone goalscorer of the match which saw plenty of near misses from both squads that would have changed the outcome of the tie. Stephan Schrock was named the man of the match after a stellar performance on the pitch. The win put the Filipinos on pole position with nine points while the Indonesian have dropped into third with four points after three matches. Persija would be hard-pressed to avenge their defeat in the Philippines and will maximize the home support to find the edge in staying alive in the competition. The Liga One champions need to secure maximum points to be in step of at least the best second position in the ASEAN Zone. The return of striker Silvio Escobar and defender Novri Setiawan will be vital to compensate for the automatic suspension of Frenchman Steven Paulle. The Philippine representatives will have a full squad available for the Tuesday afternoon match which is expected to be filled by thousands of home supporters. Schrock, Maranon, and the rest of the busmen will compete for the challenge of the likes of Bruno Matos, Riko Simanjutnak, and the ageless Ismed Sofyan. The busmen are fully aware of the difficulty of the match at hand, especially when playing against a big crowd. “Every away game in the AFC Cup is hard because we already know the high level of the opponent,” said defender Carli de Murga. “Of course Indonesian fans are supporting their team very hard especially with Persija Jakarata.” “This match is very important for us. If we win we almost go through so it means a lot. So we are focused a hundred percent to go there and get the three points,” he added. Kickoff is set at 330pm (430pm PH time) in the historic stadium with the match shown live over 5PLUS channel, ESPN5 YouTube, and Fox Sports 2. ceresfootball.com/afc-cup-2019-preview-persija-jakarta-vs-ceres-negros/

AFC Cup 2019: Ceres seals comeback win over Persija Jakarta Ceres-Negros FC rallies from two goals down to stay on top of Group G Mike Ott netted the game-winner during added time as Ceres-Negros FC survived a thriller against Persija Jakarta, 3-2, in the 2019 AFC Cup on Tuesday, April 23, at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Bacolod-based club stays on top of Group G with 12 points and is on track in advancing to the ASEAN Zonal semifinals. Ceres rallied late from two goals down as Miguel Tanton sparked the comeback with a smooth sailing free kick in the 70th minute, and Bienvienido Marañon headed a Stephan Schrock's cross from the center of the box 15 minutes later. After a goalless first half thanks to Roland Muller's fine penalty save, Sandi Darma Sute opened the floodgates in the 49th minute with a header off a free kick. In the 52nd minute, Persija keeper came up for a double save as he denied both Marañon and OJ Porteria. Five minutes later, Bruno Matos exacted revenge on Muller for the penalty save as he doubled Persija's lead, 2-0.
