Mr. Admin: Magaling ba mag dribble si Borromeo? Sa mga laro ng AzKals, Aly's forte are his aerial prowess, anticipation and first touch. If you are an attacking midfielder, you need pace and above average dribbling and passing skills. As a target man, it is basically like a center back, meet those crosses and hold the ball. But if Aly can run with ball on his feet, then he can fill that slot there but you still have Araneta on the pitch. You need to bench him once in a while to shake of his bad mojo

He's got experience dribbling, he plays as a midfielder for Global F.C. and occasionally both a midfielder and a striker for the national team.
If I'm not mistaken, the last time he played striker was against Hong Kong U-23 in the Long Teng Cup.

Azkals still strong even without ace goal keeper Manila Bulletin - Monday, February 28 MANILA, Philippines - Team manager Dan Palami never doubts the Philippine Azkals' capability to overcome Mongolia for the second time in their AFC Challenge Cup qualifier even without goal keeper Neil Etheridge. "We have a 2-0 cushion and they (Mongolians) are not too much of a threat to our keeper. So he (Etheridge) being there might be an overkill in so far defense is concerned," Palami told the Bulletin in a recent interview when Etheridge's stint was still up in the air. Palami, the national football team's godfather, explained that the 6-foot-3 goalie would be perfect to hold the forth for the Azkals. Too good was Etheridge at the goalmouth that he was busier in the outfield rather than making saves in their 2-0 blanking of the Blue Wolves in Bacolod City three weeks ago. "It will be different without him," Palami said of Etheridge, who opted out of the March 15 rematch in Ulan Bator due to his commitment with his English Premiere League club, Fulham. "But we have adequate replacement for him." That guy is Bago City native Eduardo Sacapaño, 30, a member of the Philippine Army. "I think with the level of Mongolia, he's (Sacapaño) adequate to cover for him (Etheridge)," Palami said. "Of course, the disparity between Neil and his substitutes are way beyond... but for Mongolia, he's (Sacapaño) adequate." Palami said there's no need to push the panic button although they may also miss three other foreignbred Filipino players in Chris and Simon Greatwich and Robert Gier because of other pressing matter. ph.news.yahoo.com/mb/20110228/tsp-azkals-still-strong-even-without-ace-bf91d28.html

What I mean is Simon Greatwitch... Should have been S. Greatwich... Yup, let Araneta sit on the first half, and if his replacement has the same goal scoring woes as him, he can come in on the second half. ;Dbut i think simon greatwich would'nt be able to play in the 2nd leg also ;D

Here's my line-up: Sacapano del Rosario---Sabio---Simon Greatwich---Jonsson de Jong J. Younghusband---Chieffy Caligdong Borromeo P. Younghusband---Ian Araneta ------------------------------- This is the 'Diamond Midfield Formation' a-la Carlo Ancelotti (not that I'm a fan of Chelsea). Sacapano is the shoe-in starter during the Mongolia game. Anton del Rosario and Ray Jonsson are our best full-backs so they should stay. Jason Sabio did well during his last game so he deserves a start, Phil Greatwich is an experienced centre-back and showed promise last time. Jason de Jong does well as a holding midfielder, he should remain in this position. Left midfield goes to James and the right midfield slot is for the goal-scorer of the previous leg, Chieffy. Now here's the surprise position in my list: Borromeo as an advanced attacking midfielder. I think that with Aly's power and strength he should be able to serve as a link for the two forward men: Araneta and Phil Younghusband. This is similar to the role of Wesley Sniejder linking Eto'o and Milito in the forward line during the Champions League finals. Being much forward this time, Aly can put his attacking talent to good use and he can have a chance to blast in good shots as well. ;Dboss, sino si phil greatwhich? ;D
