I really think he deserves a call up back to the national team. I really don't know what happened to him, but I think he still has what it takes to be playing wih the national team. Especially now that we really need a striker upfront partnering with patino. With his height, he is really fast, good in the air, has good ball handling, he maybe a "ballhog" sometimes, but i think every striker have a tendency to be selfish because they are the ones who were tasked to score goals. One of my favorite goals of the Azkals is his goal against sri lanka in 2011 WCQ. This is 100% correct. He got great skills and he is not that slow as what some people would say. And I don't even consider him as ballhog as he plays at the flanks most of the time. He can definitely be a super sub or can start at ACM.

He's good, he just have a habit of looking at the ball while dribling it. Nevertheless, he's good at offense and could be a great addition if he will be called-up again. BTW, any of you know why Angel suddenly disappeared in the MNT picture? It's just so sudden.

Well you can see the way he answers that the coaching staff specifically Dooley don't like his style of play. Unless he do a Misagh who already evolved from his ball-hogging ways and be more of a team player and now knows how to read the game intelligently. It makes things worse for him as I closely observe when he wants to force himself he tends to lose the ball cheaply to his defender. During one of Dooley's early interview with Philippine media is that he emphasized on ball possesion as his primary principle. Attachments:

Good for him. I hope he will have a solid performance in this tournament so that he will get his most awaited second chance on the "real" national team.

With his goal against Guam, Angel Guirado hikes his tally to 11 international goals for fourth overall in recorded Philippine football history behind Phil Younghusband (52), Chieffy Caligdong (16) and James Younghusband (12).
It probably would be even higher expect former Azkals Coach Thomas Dooley never called him up during his multi year tenure.
I wonder where former Barcelona FC great Paulino Alcantara stands overall in that list. Unfortunately individual statistics for many football games before WW 2 was lost. It is possible that Paulino scored a ton of goals as well for the Philippines in the 1917 Far Eastern Games particularly in their 15-2 rout of Japan the worst deficit in Japanese football history.

Guirado adds to his total by scoring another goal against the Maldives today for a total of 12 international goals to tie him with James Younghusband for 3rd in the Azkal's all time tally.

Congratulations on Angel's 13th international goal today(and 3rd this year) against Timor Leste allowing him to capture the sole 3rd overall slot in the Philippine national football team's all time official tally.
