I dont get why people still think that Borromeo can help the NT defence. He is 30 years old now and guy have not played a single competitive game in 2.5 years. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Ohh BTW Welcome to the forum to me!

We'd like him to prove himself on the field first before we can discuss if he is worth calling up.

Neil Etheridge is injured
@neil38etheridge 3 Dec Sorry to say.... But I hope to recover quickly and get back on the field playing again bit.ly/1cWoVZU Alex Suffer Keeper BlowPUBLISHED 11:50 3rd December 2013 Crewe could be without loan goalkeeper for a number of weeks Crewe Alexandra are hoping that a thigh injury to on-loan goalkeeper Neil Etheridge is not too serious. The young Fulham goalkeeper aggravated the muscle when completing a final clearance up the pitch in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Crawley Town and he had to undergo a precautionary scan yesterday. Manager Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Neil has had a scan after suffering a strain in his quad muscle. He sustained it by making the final kick of the game. “We are waiting for the scan results but if he has suffered that type of injury it could be 3-5 weeks maximum. We will know more today. “We will have to see but if he is ruled and his loan deal had to come to a premature end then that would be a blow for us, because he was playing well and improving with every appearance. “Neil was making some great saves and had a real presence in the goal for us. He is a terrific lad and it would be a big loss.” Read more at www.crewealex.net/news/article/alex-suffer-keeper-blow-1212407.aspx#2V7fZTMhlAX11xwv.99

www.spin.ph/sports/football/news/fit-again-former-skipper-aly-borromeo-keen-to-join-fresh-fight-for-azkals-placesFit-again Former Skipper Aly Borromeo Keen to Join Fresh Fight for Azkals Places (from Karlo Sacamos)
IT may have given him a lot of free time — which he will now partly spend hosting a new football show, but Aly Borromeo is not letting his injury become a hindrance in his bid for a comeback with the national team. Recovering from an ACL tear on his right knee that sidelined him for more than two years, the former Azkals skipper is raring to return to the national squad now under the reins of a new coach. Borromeo said on Wednesday after the launch of 'Road to Rio,' cable station Balls Channel’s newest show that drumbeats the upcoming 2014 Fifa World Cup. Borromeo, who will host the new weekly 30-minute program along with Malditas counterpart Marielle Benitez and reporter and football fan Atom Araullo, said he has returned to training and aims to play first for local club Kaya FC in the United Football League. “From there, the coach will see I’m available and good enough to play for the national team.”Once the anchor of the Azkals’ backline, the reliable center-back, however, admitted regaining his position is easier said than done considering the abundance of talent at the disposal of new coach Thomas Dooley.
“But the more challenge, the better. It makes me hungrier,” added Borromeo, who will co-host 'Road to Rio' starting on Saturday at 6 p.m. Aside from Balls Channel, the official broadcaster of the 2014 Fifa World Cup, ABS-CBN Sports+Action will also air the new show beginning Monday at 11 p.m. “Road to Rio” brings interesting trivia as well as teams and players to watch out for in the football’s quadrennial showpiece event. Caligdong rates self 60 percent fit, confident of reaching top form in time for AFC Challenge CupFrom: Karlo Sacamos April 16, 2014, 05:45 pmAS Chieffy Caligdong made his United Football League comeback, the shifty winger also marked the first step in his bid to return to the national team. Sidelined for nine games after fracturing his right foot in the middle of February, the 31-year-old booter saw action for a few seconds in stoppage time of Green Archers United’s 4-2 win over the Army on Tuesday. The former Azkals skipper said he isn’t rushing things, but this early has rated himself “sixty percent” fit and believes he can still make it in time for the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup set late May if given an opportunity by Azkals coach Thomas Dooley.“Hindi ko minamadali yung Azkals. Alam ko marami pang tournaments,” Caligdong told Spin.ph. “Kailangan ko maging fit, mentally and physically, para makabalik sa team as soon as possible,” added the former Azkals star, who missed three friendlies and a bunch of training sessions. “Sa tingin ko makakahabol pa ako sa Challenge Cup, kung mabibigyan ako ng chance to train with the team.” Once he gets back into tip-top shape, Caligdong would also have to face stern competition for his natural left-wing spot, where teenagers Curt Dizon and Daisuke Sato, as well as Patrick Reichelt have shone recently.
At the Emperador Stadium on Tuesday, Caligdong had barely broken a sweat when the referee blew the final whistle, but the former Azkals star walked off the pitch with a broad smile. “Happy ako na nakabalik na ulit sa field at makalaro kasama teammates ko,” Caligdong said. “Nakapagpahinga ako at naka-recover ng maayos.” Caligdong felt mixed emotions when he sat on the sidelines for two months. “Malungkot, pero masaya kasi yung spirit ng team na gusto manalo ng team, nandun pa rin,” he said of the sixth-running Archers, who went on a four-game winning streak in the latter part of his absence. He expects more playing time with the Archers starting in their next game next week. “Yun yung inaasahan ko kasi kailangan ko bumalik para sa last round.”
