It's strange to read news about Neil Etheridge in FourFourTwo Singapore or in any Singapore-syndicated football news site not named Fox Sports Asia. đ

FIFA 19: Azkals superstar poised for massive ratings upgrade In some positive news for Philippines fans, their superstar player Neil Etheridge is set for a massive increase in ratings in FIFA 19 as we head closer to the winter ratings refresh. The Azkals star is set for a five-point upgrade, FOX Sports Asia understands. Neil Etheridge is currently rated 72 in FIFA 19 based on his performances last term. But this season has been a substantially different story. Playing for Cardiff City in the top flight of English football, the custodian has shown his true class, and despite conceding goals as well, has proven that he is the real deal. We understand that Etheridge will make a massive jump in the ratings refresh, and will be upgraded to 77 in the FIFA 19 records as a result. The Philippines player was on duty with the national team in the ongoing AFF Suzuki Cup, but will return to the Premier League with Cardiff City this weekend. He has made it clear that he wishes to do all that he can to help his country win matches and perhaps even tournaments. With this guaranteed ratings increase, we hope to see more of Etheridge at his best. www.foxsportsasia.com/esports/fifa19/982838/fifa-19-azkals-superstar-poised-for-massive-ratings-upgrade/

As for the number of penalties saved, he is at the top of the league. He saved one yesterday against Leicester City, a game that Cardiff City eventually won 0:1 from a goal scored in extra time. Exciting game.

Philippines and Cardiff City star Neil Etheridge has now made the second-most saves in Premier League this season Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has leapfrogged Manchester United custodian David de Gea to become the shotstopper who has made the second most number of saves in the ongoing Premier League season. The Philippines goalkeeper, who saw his side go down 2-1 to Chelsea the other day, now has 105 saves in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign â one more than Unitedâs Spanish star de Gea. Watfordâs Polish custodian Lukasz Fabianski is at the top of the stats table â the former Arsenal man having made an incredible 126 saves for the Hornets who are 10th in the English top flight standings. Etheridge has started all 31 of Bluebirdsâ Premier League games this season keeping eight clean sheets in the process. He has also saved there penalties â level with Everton and England keeper Jordan Pickford at the top. Cardiff City will now face Pep Guardiolaâs Manchester City on April 4 with the Sky Blues looking to return to the summit of the Premier League table. Etheridgeâs side are, meanwhile, battling relegation and sit 18th in the table with 28 points from 31 games. A season to remember for Neil. A relegated Cardiff, but on a personal level this is quite the achievement, being the solid #1 GK for the whole season. Ended the season with a win against Manchester United. His fingertip save redirected the ball to the post and bounced to safety.
As for final stats, his total saves second only to Fabianski, and Ben Foster a distant third.
Final stats of the GKs for # of saves: Rank Player Club Nationality Stat 1. Lukasz Fabianski West Ham United Poland 148 2. Neil Etheridge Cardiff City Philippines 141 3. Ben Foster Watford England 127
For a relegated team, the number of clean sheets is high. See the list below. Not a bad group to be in.
Rank Player Club Nationality Stat 1. Alisson Liverpool Brazil 21 2. Ederson Manchester City Brazil20 3. Kepa Arrizabalaga Chelsea Spain 14 3. Jordan Pickford Everton England 14 5. Hugo Lloris Tottenham Hotspur France 12 6. Martin Dubravka Newcastle United Slovakia 11 7. Neil Etheridge Cardiff City Philippines 10 7. Kasper Schmeichel Leicester City Denmark 10
The 3 penalties he saved in the early part of the season stood until the end to keep him at the top.
1. Neil Etheridge Cardiff City Philippines 3 1. Jordan Pickford Everton England 3 3. Hugo Lloris Tottenham Hotspur France 2
Congratulations to Neil for a good season. I just wish Cardiff stayed up. Looking forward to next season, and I hope a good one for Neil and Cardiff City.

From goal.com West Ham planning move for Etheridge
West Ham United are planning a move for Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge this summer, Football Insider claims.
Etheridge, 29, was impressive with Cardiff this season despite the club's relegation, with the Bluebirds preparing to field offers for the shot-stopper.
The Hammers are looking to bring in cover and competition for current starter Lukasz Fabianski.
If this is true then Neil can stay at the EPL again next season... What do you think guys? đđđ

What do you think guys? đđđ Definitely good news for Neil that EPL clubs are interested in buying him but West Ham already has Fabianski. More news EXCLUSIVE By Pete OâRourke West Ham United are plotting a swoop to sign Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge this summer, Football Insider understands. Etheridge enjoyed an outstanding season with the Welsh outfit despite their relegation from the Premier League and was widely considered to be one of the best performing keepers in the top flight. The 29-year-old was an ever-present in his debut season in the Premier League, keeping 10 clean sheets and was rewarded for his fine form by being named Cardiffâs Player of the Year. Cardiff are bracing themselves for interest in Etheridge in the wake of relegation and a West Ham source has told Football Insider the club are one of several sides understood to be weighing up moves for the Philippines international. West Ham are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer with Spanish shot-stopper Adrian expected to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next month. The Hammers are keen to bring in cover and competition for current No.1 keeper Lukasz Fabianski and have been impressed by Etheridgeâs performances for Cardiff. Etheridge, who joined Cardiff from Walsall in 2017, also fits the bill for West Ham as he would qualify as a homegrown player to boost the clubâs quota of homegrown players in the squad. www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-west-ham-plot-swoop-to-sign-cardiff-city-player/

I don't think he should go to West Ham. Been there, done that -- he was #2 at Fulham, in the PL, for a long time. If there are offers where he would be the presumptive #1, then he should go for it. To come in as the expected #2, even if in the PL, is a step down.
He seems happy at Cardiff and is well liked and respected there. He's their solid #1. So he has all the leverage should a potential transfer occur.
