Kung tapos na nga talaga yung rift baka naman na taken out of context si Chiefy. Usually kasi ng mga taga Visayas, medyo hirap i express ang sarili nila in Filipino language. Pero sobrang iresponsable talaga ni Jessica Soho.

I find nothing wrong nor sense any trace of ****-**** feeling from Chieffy's statements. You know Media. Regardless if the news lacks thorough research, is over-sensationalized, jelly-coated with drama, will stir up the emotions of the readers/viewers, and in some extent deviates from truth...
... as long as it sells, "pa-PATOK", and will get high ratings.

bakit napunta sa interview kay chieffy eh ang title ng discussion ang yung ballhog na player? To be blunt, some people think Chieffy is "ballhog". I agree that he has tendencies to keep the ball to himself when there are clearly other players who have a better chance of scoring. And to be honest, that sort of selfishness will not help against Kuwait at all! The Kuwaitis will beat the Azkals up by sheer skill alone. The only way the Azkals have any chance of winning is though pure teamwork. But to be fair to Chieffy, he probably does not intend to be a ball hog. He's probably just used to that playing style.

I don't sense any ill feelings between Chieffy and the foreign based players at all. Look at him play around (bullfighting) with Guirado after the third goal last Sunday. Everyone seems to be good friends and I think some of you hit the point exactly. Sorry, a lot of longtime Azkals fans know the team far too well and are far too mature. Cheap tricks won't work.

Regarding Chieffy's interview (sorry for going back to this topic), from the excerpt posted here, it appears the trigger to the whole thing was when Chieffy made use of the word "pure blood." It caused a viewer reaction through text and Soho seeing an issue to stir up follows up on it.
I think Chieffy just used a poor choice of words, he probably could have been thinking "homegrown" or "local based" as a reference but with difficulty expressing himself, he used a term in the context of ethnicity or race. It's evident that the camaraderie between the local based and foreign based players are good and this is a non-issue at this point.
This is why there should be a conscious effort by everyone, the supporters, the team, the PFF, the players and the coaching staff to stop referring to local or homegrown players and those who are foreign based in the context of race or ethnicity - pure, half or quarter. The media will always be media and they will pick up on what everyone says.
I suggest that we start setting the example here. Those who know people in the team and the PFF could also advise them to be more conscious of the use of terms and make it a practice to make distinctions between our players on where they are based and not on race. If media when asking a question makes a reference in a race context, the one being interviewed should immediately correct it.

Oh yes, as for the ballhog and to get back on-topic, I agree with some of the posters here who said JYH was an unsung hero who worked really hard in that game. If you were watching James live, you could see how frustrated he was and pretty pissed off I might add, with the "selfish quibbling" Coach Weiss referred to. Someone behind me commented that James stop pulling those on-field tantrums. I kind of agreed at first, but on hindsight and after the seeing the replay on TV, James had a point as there was a bit of glory hunting going on towards the end of the game.

we can all understand jyh's frustration. being pinoys all of us here have played bsktbl, we all have been in that situation where we able to make good passes to our open teammates that enabled them to score.yet when it's their turn to return the favor they don't see you at pinipilit ang bola kahit dalawa na nakabantay. pag ilang beses mangyari yan mawawalan ka ng gana tumulong na sa depensa, rebound etc

But the good thing with JYH, hindi siya nawawalan ng gana at masipag pa din..yun nga lang madalas mo talaga makikita sa mukha nya yung frustrations.

yup jyh is unlike those masipag mag defend then assist to ballhogs then the ballhogs don't return the favor eh wala nang gana maglaro.sa nakita ko kay jyh after those reactions he showed pag nagballhog si aracali at pati si phil he still is masipag afterwards.

Jessica Soho: So, naayos? Obviously, this kind of reporting is just fueling the fire of this long talked about and debated issue of pure vs half. My opinion is, its very unprofessional for Jessica to ask these kind of questions but if its how GMA can differentiate themselves from ABS-CBN and play the controversial reporting then be it. The media has its games they play...

The media has its games they play... It's the deadlines, always having deadlines reduces news quality. I don't know the inner workings of media. But if I were to speculate, I think it's GMA's lame attempt to get something out of the Azkals phenomenon. ABS-CBN obviously hit a goldmine with their exclusive contract with the Azkals. GMA probably wanted to take advantage of the phenomenon too but can't think of other ways to do it so they try to "squeeze something juicy" from the Azkals players.
