Acc. to Del Rosario's and Moy's tweets, Lexton Moy has indeed been accepted into kaya. He is now described as the latest member of Kaya FC. In other UFL news, this statement has appeared: The following clubs have submitted their application requirements: Diliman FC, Garuda FC, Forza FC, Manila Football Club, Loyola 2nd Club. Deadline for submission is on Aug. 19. Please be advised. I guess Loyola plans to field a team in both divisions. First club in the UFL to have a reserve team? NICE!! For sure Ill be a new KAYA FC fan haha. Id like to follow some of the Azkal subs as they play and hopefully Lexton Moy can impress Weiss too. I think its great UFL and Azkals are getting so much notice now, I have to admit Ive been watching more Intl soccer games too! Im also happy more clubs are wanting to join the UFL. I hope we have reached the "critical mass" for a soccer rebirth in the PI! Mainstream here we go!! Garuda FC, Indonesian nationals/college students in the Philippines?? Just curious.

TV5 signs 5-year, P150-M contract with UFL By Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer 10:35 pm | Wednesday, August 17th, 2011
MANILA—In another clear indication of football’s rapid rise in the country, the United Football League will now have its games aired live on television for the first time starting next season.
The country’s premiere league based in Manila has agreed to a five-year, P150 million television deal with TV5, the television station owned by business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan, which is also airing the Philippine Basketball Association games starting next season.
A reliable source said the league will receive P20 million in cash every year during the duration of the deal and P10 million worth of advertising promotions annually for the UFL.
The deal will pave the way for at least two UFL matches to be aired live on Saturdays, the league source said. “That’s the initial agreement, but there might be more games to be aired live depending on the schedule,” said the source.
The coverage, the same source said, will start with the quarterfinals of the UFL Cup scheduled to kick off in October with close to 50 teams expected to see action. The UFL season is expected to start in January.
The UFL first division will expand to 10 teams this season with two more teams joining league champion Air Force, Global FC, Kaya-Cignal, Army, Loyola-Meralco, Green Archers, Navy and Nomads, which ruled the second division to earn promotion.
The two teams will be determined depending on the results of the UFL Cup.
Among the members of the national team playing in the UFL are Azkals skipper Aly Borromeo, Anton del Rosario, Nate Burkey, Jason Sabio and Yannick Tuason, who are members of Kaya, Misagh Bahadoran and Angel Guirado, who are teammates at Global, Ian Araneta and Chieffy Caligdong, who play for Air Force, and Army players Roel Gener, Eduard Sacapano and Nestorio Margarse.

This is great news for Philippine football! We need a pro league so that players can develop rapidly.
Though I am not really convinced that UFL is the best name for our national football league...

2 LIVE games a week? Thats great. I hope the camera angle will be good. There are 2 possible channels for this AKTV or TV5, same company right? I cannot access AKTV without my cable box, TV5 is clear with or without the box.

The UFL just signed a 5 year P150 million tv contract with TV 5 which will ensure the league not only a steady income but at least 2 live telecasts per week for the league. The league will be expanding to 10 teams per division in the 2 division league and will invite the 2 highest placed teams in the upcoming UFL Cup to fill the 2 remaining slots in the 1st division. This probably means that they are going to become a full professional league soon. As a consequence of this, the Younghusbands who have said that they will not join a local league until it turns professional has finally signed up with a local UFL team, Loyola FC Meralco, which already has their fellow Fil British Portsmouth Academy grads Hartmann brothers I believe. sports.inquirer.net/12321/you...ola-fc-meralcoThis along with the signing of Fil Spanish Angel Guirado(formerly of Atletico Madrid B) with Global, and the addition of other Fil American players and other foreigners to other clubs in the league heralds a new era for professional football in the country, the dawning of the first full professional sports league outside of basketball. My guess is in the years to come, many Filipino footballers who are currently playing overseas will eventually end up in the Philippines as the emergence of a domestic professional league will allow them to continue or extend their careers there and possibly rise to the managerial ranks as well.

BTW,
Just wondered, why doesn't the UFL add a 3rd division, maybe on a regional level, like in Germany? I am sure there is enough interest and will give teams in the provinces something to aim for every year.

TV5 got it... Thats really good not just locally but internationally as well, as mentioned above, it will also be broadcast thru TFC affiliation, adding to this, GMA PinoyTV includes TV5 and Aksyon TV, we have the cable package of GMA and just recently they have changed their 2 channels to TV5 and Aksyon TV, atleast here in the UAE. Im not sure with other countries? But definitely this will be good for UFL, pilipinas futbol coz it will have wider audiences. Kudos MVP!

Pero siguro they're taking it one step at a time, maybe in the middle of the season they can decide if it's feasible or not (if they have already taught about it). Sana dumami pa sponsors to fully support and to keep up the momentum of PHL Football. And keep out dirty Politics!

with the signings of the younghusband brothers to loyola, guirado for global fc and moy for kaya fc we now have perhaps the stronger league at home soil for quite sometime. but i notice that loyola, kaya and kaya are the only team to make significant signings this transfer window but how about teams like green archer orient, nomads, air force rider, army fritz and baiziol ibm, and navy?? it seems that it's going to be a 3 way fight between kaya fc, loyala fc and global fc if the other teams won't make any significant signings.
yeah i like to have a regional league similar to the bundesliga set up. it will touch all bases for us to give players from provinces to have a chance to showcase their talent.

Any news about the supposed/proposed tie up with Barcelona or R Madrid with the UFL or a UFL team that was mentioned in this site before? If THAT happens, wow, think of the possibilities!
