We still have no idea what will they do in the bleachers. The only thing we know for now is they will stripped off the grass and replace it with artificial pitch. Still wondering what will they do to increase the capacity of RMS. Hope the scaffolding there will be our hint for now.
By the way, if the grass is now artificial, could the Volcanoes still use RMS? Hope RMS is also for Volcanoes if they have games since the rugby field measurement is somewhat equal or less than the size of a football field. RMS = home of PHI team  |

Goodevening, I am TJ Dignadice from the Makati Development Corporation. Just to clarify the structures at the bleachers of the RMS, they are not meant for the construction of a second level. The Ayala Group of Companies will be having its Olympics this Saturday, April 21. The scaffoldings are meant to serve as a "temporary shelter" to protect the employees from the heat of the sun during the event. The structures shall be taken down immediately after. Thanks for reading. Thanks for clarifying TJ. We're mostly guessing that this is some roofing for the bleachers and not a framework for a second level of the bleachers. Anyways, I'm just picking up speculations from all around social media that after the June friendlies, Rizal Memorial shall be closed again for a major reconstruction of the stadium in preparation for a friendly match in October, and the AFF Suzuki Cup. Four months is quite a short period for a full reconstruction but I hope it'll be worth it. |

stellarboyThat info was also in the news reports that RMS will be closed again for major renovation like increasing the seating capacity. The question is could they make it in the span of 4 months? Since on October they might use it again for friendlies here. I hope they can do it

Ebong Joson (@bluehairedfan): RMS pitch works the very next day after the rugby tournament. props to Ike Madamba (technical consultant), PSC/RMS grounds staff and Bert Honasan (PFF LOC stadium supervisor) for all their hard work!

RMS Update May 20 4pm Let me compare that to the same pitch on Feb 20:  I'm not really sure if this is artificial turf, as there are little uneven patches on the edges. I'm pretty sure they just replanted or recultivated the grass. This is something worrying.  |

On Azkals FB, the Admin said the artificial pitch will be put there in July replacing the natural grass.
