Hi guys, what can you say about the game commentators?

anyone but Ronnie Nat! If I can say anything to him, I'll say respectfully, do your homework first before you commentate on TV when its got to do with soccer.
Dyan Castillejo, she is absolutely thrilled to be where the NT is, bubbly personality and knows the game better than RN. She dresses quite nicely and, may I say quite a MILF!
Bob G. knows the game but has an irritating voice. Sorry Bob...
Darren H. Getting better, he used to have a lot of dead spots, as in, thinking of what he was going to say next. His accent kind of lands some credibility to the NT, buts its probably my 'colonial mentality'. oooppss...
Coach del Rosario, I've got to add him because he is a regular at the Pre and Post game shows. One time he came in with a Barong and a SKIRT(some sort of MALAY skirt), sandals and had on all these "pucca' shell necklaces', he also speaks kinda slow like he just smoked some... Alway interesting to watch. But knowing he's going to be on TV, you'd think he'd do something with that goatee!
Chris Soler, absolutely the most knowledgeable guy on TV when it comes to soccer.

Im sorry but Ronnie N. doesn't know squat about football. He's taking basketball terms and general sports terms and trying to analyze football that way. Won't work. GRADE: F
Dyan: Yeah, knows the game better than Ronnie, but her interviews have to be deeper. GRADE: D
Bob G: Always has to scream. Is a bit slow to get why some players react angrily (i.e. after a controversial offside call). Really slow pick up. Exaggerates everything. The good thing is that he knows that the game is still being picked up by the masses and lets Darren explain football terms. Doesn't research the names of players and when doing play by play can't say 4 names correctly.
GRADE: C-
Darren H: Good knowledge base. Good insight. a little bit slow when talking - Bob G has a faster tempo than him when talking. Biased, but understandable because his brothers are playing.
GRADE: B-

I prefer hearing Chris Soler. Knows what he's talking about. How come we haven't seen Paolo Buendia and Mariel Benitez recently?

Bob Guerrero reiterated too much that Cagara's brother was on the Danes' got Talent. @_@

+++ to Hartmann. feels like watching European games the rest especially that one named bob, Sponge Bob is better. Couldn't even get his names right. Muting the TV makes it better.

Of the commentators so far, I like Chris Soler and Darren Hartmann. But the two of them together? I don't think that would be a good combination as it would be a pretty slow and dry broadcast. I also dislike Bob, for now at least, as he misreads things on the pitch (he was calling Cagara "del Rosario" for a long time before he realized his mistake) and his football neologisms can get annoying. Kinda reminds me of MLS commentators from its early years. But I think he'll improve over time and he does have that American-ish excitability that may sound appealing to newbie Pinoy football ears. Just my two cents.

Sports in America is very different unlike in footballing countries, Americans typically comment on a game in a way that it looks like a game show.
Compared to European way of commenting, Americans love to say slang words especially in matches, well I still prefer the European way, crisp to-the-point commentary on the pitch.

the UFL needs more PBP / Commentators? I believe they have auditions. You should go out and check it, then.
Well, they were in Manila (not in Kaoshiung when they did the LTC coverage and in the SG friendly)

Bob G. wasn't particularly good last game, perhaps a notch more excitable than in previous games if that's even possible. For example, he screamed "...it's a shot on goal!" when it wasn't, then corrected immediately to "...just wide to the left." Bob G. -- please hold back a little and wait for the play to develop. Overall I think he is still okay.
I know that some (US) baseball commentators, especially the good ones, practice before the game imagining how the game is going even with no players in the field. Helps to pronounce the names of the opposing players. Maybe Bob G. doesn't do that, or if he does, he should do more of it. Bob G. has plenty of room for improvement and I think he's okay.
Darren was good. Keep him in.
One guy I'd like to see is Simon Greatwich. I saw his interview on TV and he's quite articulate and has an okay sense of humor. If he's not on the field he should try it.
What's good in a commentator is subjective and personal. To me the English are too dry. Very technical, very good analysis, but dead on emotion. Lots of pauses to let the viewer enjoy the action. At the other end of the spectrum are the Mexicans. Non-stop talking at 200 kph all throughout the game. My poor Spanish can pick up allusions to personal matters about the players, jokes, whatever. And then of course there's .......GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (takes a breath) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Which you will hear from the English as often as the Queen yawns in public.
