bleachersbrew.blogspot.com/20...-national.htmlbleachersbrew.blogspot.com/2011/05/bacolod-romps-to-inaugural-pff-suzuki.htmlI asked the author Rick Olivares about Joshua. He says that Joshua's father is an American serviceman who passed away and his mother remarried a Swiss citizen and they then moved to Switzerland. He apparently played for FC Zurich. So the earlier Swedish quote from previous articles was inaccurate. It was actually Switzerland. He is reportedly being eyed to tryout for the senior and U-23 national team. Here are the relevant quotes from the articles: "Beloya who was born in Olongapo but grew up in the United States and later in Switzerland where he once played for FC Zurich was talented but we had to add some muscle to him." "Beloya became the breakout star of the tournament. Off the bench in Bacolods first two matches, he was soon inserted in the starting lineup where he flourished even more. He showed great range, exceptional quickness, and an ability to finish in and around the goal. By the tournaments end, he was named Best Striker." “I hope that we are given a chance to show what we can do to play for the national team,†said Beloya who once played with FC Zurich in Switzerland. “It is my dream." "Beloya, who is reportedly being eyed to tryout for the senior national team along with teammates Bedic and Dolino, added his 15th goal and was named Best Striker for the tournament."

Beloya to play in UFLMon. Jan. 09, 2012 BACOLOD -- Young Negrense football star Joshua Beloya is expected to see action when the 2012 season of the United Football League (UFL) kicks off this January 14, 2012. Beloya, a member of the Philippine Azkals-U23 that saw action in the recent 2011 South East Asian Games in Indonesia, has shown great potential in the international arena. This after his remarkable performance during the biennial meet when he scored two quick goals in the last 3 minutes of the match to beat Laos 3-2 and gave the Philippines its lone victory in the tourney. The Fil-American standout of the University of St. La Salle, has also became a big factor when the Ceres-Negros Team won the PFF-Suzuki Cup U23 National Cup crown last year. Beloya, earned the ‘best striker’ award in the said tournament after he nailed a total of 14 goals. Beloya in a conversation over the net said, that he wanted to play in the 1st Division of UFL this season. “I want to play in the 1st Division so it could be Kaya FC,” he said. Though there is an ongoing present semi-pro league in Negros, the North Football League (NFL), but the rules and guidelines set for the tournament didn’t allowed him to join the draft. ”I’m a university player so I was not allowed to be drafted,” he explained. If Beloya starts his campaign in the UFL, he will be reunited with his Ceres-Negros head coach Norman Fegidero Jr. (now directing Pachanga FC) as well as former teammates Jake Morallo (Loyola-Meralco), Janrick Soriano (Global), and Pachanga FC’s Camelo and Carlo Tacusalme, Jovin Bedic, Gino Palomo and Jalsor Soriano. Moreover, his possible appearance in the UFL will reunite him with his comrades in the national team. On the other hand, coach Fegidero’s Pachanga FC is currently in Bacolod to hold trainings in preparation for this year’s season of the UFL. Consisting the Pachanga FC are former West Negros University keeper Kenneth Dolloso, Tacusalme siblings, Bedic, Palomo, Jalsor Soriano and Fegidero’s brother Joshua. Also in the squad are Philippine Azkals-U23 Neckson Leonora and OJ Clarino, NFL’s Frederick Jan (FJ) Serios, Mark Evan Sorongon, Aldwin Riedler, Jose Luis Lozano, Ronald Batisla-Ong, Shirmar Felongco, Robert Canedo, David Adebando, Ronnel Lagrimas, Alex Obiang, John Caballero, Patrick Deyto, Garry Irribarren, Sudanese Mohanad Farah, Yves Ashime, Okoro Ubiam, Alu Kigbu, Christopher Ojamire, Ousseynou Diop, and actor Derek Arthur Ramsay. Backing Fegidero in the coaching tasks are assistant coaches Marjo Allado and Alvin Ocampo, and goalkeeper coach Kim Versales. Pachanga FC is chaired by Freddy Razon Gonzalez, Mooney Castillo and Paolo Misa as directors, while Jose Martin Rodriguez as team manager. JSG (Source: Jerome S. He has just been invited to practice with the NT! [/img] Mr. Badboy has another chance and for the biggest competition this year too! Just a thought but it probably would've been better if he started in the PFPC. Btw, this is for the MEN'S TEAM.

Hello all, sorry I haven't been around as I have had more work projects, but I've got a question. Is it not Joshua Beloya's 1st senior cap last night in Cebu versus Singapore? I'd research it myself(for sure he wasn't around with the seniors in 2012) but computer time is quite limited for me right now. Thanks UF folks.
PS Senior Cap means U23 participation does not count and only FIFA recognized matches only. Thanks all!
