He may not be the fastest or the best at taking defenders on( I think his touch is good enough though), but James Y is still the best right winger we have.

A certain Barry Graham posted this on Pinoy football FB site "Barry Graham Just read from Germans Sports newspaper on internet. Weiss Comments on Azkals' "I AM LEAVING AZKALS AFTER GAMES, THE CORRUPTION AND BAD BEHAVIOUR OF MANAGEMENT AND PLAYERS HAS SICKENED ME. I CAME TO THIS POVERISHED PLACE WITH MY EYES CLOSED! MAYBE COACH NEITTZEC SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THIS JOB, 60MILLION PHP OF GERMAN MONEY (TAX MONEY) HAS GONE TO PALAMI THE PLAYERS THEY ARE SO UNDISIPLINED, I wanted to remove James YOUNGHUSBAND PERMANTLY FROM THE TEAM, HE CANNOT PLAY RIGHT MIDFIELD HE IS TOO SLOW HE ONLY PASSES LONG BALLS TO HIS BROTHER, BUT I WANT HIM OUT BUT IN AM TOLD HE MUST PLAY AS THE PFF SOURCES GET GOOD ADVERTISING MONEY, POLITICS AGAIN I MUST DO AS I AM TOLD SO I PLAYED HIM AS A RIGHT DEFENDER BUT TOO SLOW!! Ii AM HEARING I AM NOT EDUCATED FOR THIS JOB AND I WAS ONLY PLAYING AS AMATEUR GOALKEEPER BEFORE!! MAYBE SO AND MAYBE THE GERMAN FOOTBALL ASSOC KNEW I WAS NOT QUALIFIED FOR THIS JOB THEY PUSHED ME INTO THIS HOLE, ALL BULL!! I WILL GIVE MY VERSION TO FIFA ABOUT THE CORRUPTION WHEN I LEAVE. I KNOW AFTER THIS I WILL NOT BE WELCOME TOO MUCH BUT THAT IS LIFE BUT HERE THE LIFE IS SO BAD PEOPLE ARE SO DUMB AND FILTHY MAYBE CARSTAN NEITZEC CAN DO BETTER WAIT AND SEE. This was an amasing outburst by Weiss I can understand why he is upset if he was forced into the job with improper qualifications But what the hell is going on?" I dont know if this is true but maybe this Barry Graham doesnt like Coach Weiss...Several people have asked him for the link but so far he has not comented back... Even if it is untrue, I do believe that James Younghusband is slow for the RM position and his ball control and dribbling skills are not that good..

Hm, indeed, that doesn't sound like Mr. Weiler to me. But it doesn't sound like Weiss either. Though I have had far less experience reading posts from the latter. Words were smartly chosen to irritate the casual sensationalist. I'd say step back, fellas. This reeks of a hoax.

Stop blaming Paul Weiler . I know his writing style and he cant write that good English.. lol, read the article again. The writing style is NOT good English. It's full of grammatical errors, very typical of Paul Weiler's posts

it has been some time since there was news here . seems everybody is finally happy with coach weiss . and rightly so : his record in games that matter : AFC-challenge so far 8 games played 4 WINS, 2 DRAWS and ONLY 2 LOST . i don't mention friendly games here : they don't count as they are always used for trying out positions, tactics, gameplays etc and players also have (unvoluntarely) the tendency to hold back a bit .

Coach Weiss has impressed me a lot handling our booters during this run of the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup, from the pre-qualifying playoffs to this semi-finals stint. He handled well the criticisms and the accusations against him. He has still room to learn with this tournament, but what he will face now after this is the decision of the PFF if they should keep him as a coach following a heartbreak loss in the semi-finals, not to mention the blunders he allegedly did on the losses under his tenure.
I agree with random's opinion in the Challenge Cup thread that he should stay with the NT for now. Give him another year or two to fully develop the playing style that is appropriate for our skill level. Starting from scratch again with a new coach would be another setback. I don't want to cause a debacle here, but I want to give him the much needed time for Philippine football to reach greater heights.

I think Coach Weiss'es contract(paid for with the assistance of the German fed) lasts until the end of the year. I still have my doubts about him, but I would be willing to let him finish his contract until the end of the Suzuki Cup. It will save the PFF some money and with the results of this tournament, he probably deserves to be a given a chance to finish it.
Of course, if we had infinite resources, there probably are better and more experienced candidates out there to choose from, but considering our situation, I say let him finish his contract.
Other than that, it also serves the goal of maintaining good relations with the DFB(German fed), if we honor the contract as well.

Coach Weiss has earned a reprieve based on our performance in Kathmandu. The next gauge will be the Suzuki Cup now (unless he decided to dip into the youth program again with the U-22).

I think he's fine.... for now. There will be a time when he should go out, and that's when the Philippines is ready to get out of their hustle-run style football.
