Executive Assistant to Governor Alfredo Marañon and concurrent Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor said that this goodwill game is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Organization for Industrial Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA)-Philippines Chapter scheduled from August 23-25. He added that the Negrense squad will be mentored by former national head coach Norman Fegidero and assisted by Paul Espinosa. Is this THE Japanese senior national team or U23? If they are in the Philippines how about a friendly against the Phil senior, U23 or mix team. They've been asking for a tough match, this is it. I hope its televised, if ever.

Negros XI beats Japan in goodwill game Friday, August 26, 2011 NEGROS First’s Christ Je Opelario scored two goals to lead the Negrenses past the visiting Ogi High School of Japan, 6-4 in a goodwill game yesterday at Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City. But before the Negrenses scored a pull away victory, the Japanese stunned the homecrowd with Keigo Kodero’s opening goal in the 14th minute. The Japanese striker displayed tricky ball control at center field to confuse the Negrense defense, including home-team’s keeper Bon Jovi Umbao. Umbao approached just above the penalty box to help on defense but Kodero intelligently lobbed the ball towards the goal, just far enough for the Negrense keeper to impossibly reach it. Down by 1-nil, the Negrense defense temporarily rattled as they gave their Japanese counterpart several open lanes. Fortunately, the Japanese booters failed to capitalize and missed their attempts. Negros First head coach Norman Fegidero, former national men’s team and current West Negros University mentor, was forced to effect substitutions. Marti Malubay found an opening on the Japanese defense, scoring Negrense’s first goal in the 30th minute of the game. Ryunell Fegidero tried to nail the team’s second goal off the pass from John Carlo Lucero but he overshot his attempt. With three minutes left before the end of the first half, Lucero successfully nailed the host-team’s second goal in the 42nd minute to put the Negrenses on top, 2-1 at the break. In the resumption of play in the second half, a quick goal in the 48th minute just inside the box from Japan’s striker Daiki Tanaka stunned the Negrense crowd. Tanaka’s goal leveled the game at 2-all. In the 60th minute, Christ Je Opelario scored the first of his two goals in the game to give Negros First a point advantage, 3-2. Refusing to yield against the home team, Tatsuya Kitagawa struck an equalizing goal in the 69th minute from just outside the penalty box to the right of Negrense keeper Umbao. In the 76th minute, Rudennis Palomo secured the host’s fourth goal after the ball slipped off the hand of Japan’s keeper when he tried to save a missed roll ball from Fegidero. Opleario then scored another goal in the 83rd minute on a 15-yard strike just inside the box to put the host squad ahead, 5-3. The visiting team was rattled by the its two point deficit, as Japanese defender Seiya Ehara was called for a foul after he was caught hacking down Joel Valderama just inside the penalty area. Valderama was given a free kick which he converted in the 89th minute, giving Negros First a 6,3 lead.. With the game played on the 2-minute extension time, Tanaka closed the match with 90+2 minutes. Japan’s head coach Takashi Furukawa lauded Negros team’s performance. “Negros players are good. They are very powerful. We hope they can go to Japan and play,” he said. On the other hand, Negros’ mentor Fegidero admitted that Japanese booters were skillful. “Despite their young age, you can really see that they have the skills. They have great future in football, especially the No. 55 (Tatsuya Kitagawa) and No. 48 (Daiki Tanaka). It’s a great experience for my boys to play with them,” Fegidero stressed. Meanwhile, Executive Assistant to Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel ‘Nonong’ Verdeflor said that the goodwill games showcased not only the Negrensen local sports talents but also the province’s sports facilities. “We have showed them that we are capable of holding international events. This also helped the province in its tourism campaign,” the official said. The goodwill game was part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Organization for Industrial Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA)-Philippines Chapter scheduled from August 23-25. football news...Negros booters eyed for Japanese clubsJapanese football teams are eyeing Negros players to train in Japan and eventually, become part of the different clubs in their country, Governor Alfredo Marañon said yesterday.
Marañon said that football scouts, who joined the delegation from Japan to watch how Negros Occidental players play against their team from OGI High School in Thursday’s friendly match, visited his office to discuss their plans. The governor said the scouts are interested to tap Filipino-Japanese booters to join their local teams in Japan after being told about the Philippine Azkals and how they played against Kuwait, one of the higher-ranked football squad in Asia.
“Because of the success of the Azkals, the Japanese want to train our local players by bringing them to Japan and make them part of their clubs,” Marañon saidHe added that the visitors were impressed with what they saw last Thursday after the Negros First team, represented by players from West Negros University, won against the Japan team, 6-4. Included in the lineup of the visiting OGI High School squad were four Japanese girl players. The Japanese officials were also impressed with the football pitch at the Panaad Stadium and told the governor that they will bring their teams to train in Negros.“They like our facilities and said it is cheaper to train here than in Japan, so they will come back and bring their team for training,” Marañon said.Adding to the attractions of Negros to the visiting delegation from Japan are the beaches in the south where Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe went for scuba diving the other day. Marañon said Urabe tested the waters in Sipalay and liked the place. The Japanese enjoy was in Negros Occidental to join the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement in Bacolod City.*NAB Link:www.visayandailystar.com/2011/August/27/sportnews1.htm

Wow, what a great and generous people these Japanese! Great work and kudos to Maranon and his people also! I truly hope all theyve talked about goes through smoothly. I also hope that "politics" never get in between this football partnership, as we've seen happening with the "God d*&^%d" POC and PSC leadership.
Although playing a HS team with girls in the lineup, against the Negros selection, the Japanese are obviously being generous with their praises.
I hope they do train in Panaad, perhaps they will pour in some money to really renovate the place and make it better for international competition ala Rizal MC. Also for the local booters, if they can play with the Japanese that would be excellent learning experience also.

Teen Azkals bow to local teams
Playing in an unfamiliar territory and against teams that have been exposed to high-level games, the Philippine U16 Football Team “Teen Azkals” failed to snatch a win in their two-match friendly games at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The young Azkals bowed to North Ceres Selection, 5-1, and Ceres-University of St. La Salle, 5-2, but gained a lot of experience from both squads.
Ali Rojas Go scored the opening goal for North Ceres Selection and Fil-Am Joshua Beloya made it 2-0 with a strike from 15 yards.
Attacking the Teen Azkals defense in the second half, Rolando Ian Treyes, Eliseo Palomo Jr. and Archie Familiar scored three more goals to frustrate the national team mentored by Glenn Ramos.
Skie Doug Carranza prevented a shutout for the Teen Azkals with a goal late in the match.
Against the Nene Lazarito-mentored Ceres-USLS yesterday, the national U16 team once again failed to contain the attacks of the local team.
Norman Seloterio’s quick attack stunned the nationals’ defense as Ralph Layumas nailed the team’s second goal at close range.
J Buguioro and Joel Bedia added two more goals from just above the penalty box for a 4-nil lead as Negrense Ryu Nell Fegidero, nephew of former national men’s head coach Norman Fegidero, scored the Teen Azkals’ first goal in the first half to trail 4-1.
The nationals however, failed to prevent another goal from USLS’ Aldrin Dolino but managed to score another marker from Carranza for the match’s 5-2 final tally.
Assisting Lazarito in the USLS bench were Ramon Janeo, Ali Go, Hemerson Campo, and Michael Casas with Leo Rey Yanson as team manager.
In Sunday’s tune-up game, the Teen Azkals held the Philippine Musangs U19 team of Spanish coach Maor Rozen to a scoreless draw.
The Teen Azkals is composed of 19 homegrown players, tapped from a nationwide tryouts conducted by the PFF.
Team members are Bacolod players Phil John Battalones, Nessi Villanueva Ramos, Christian Paul Jover and Ryu Nell Fegidero; Ilonggos Jose Zaldy Abraham Jr., Dumaguete’s Jose Adrian de la Sierra, Raymundo Santilla and Angelo Gabriel Bahoyan; Cebu’s Yves Russel Caballero, Antonio Eduardo Rafols and Renko Feliz Gaudiel; and Jhoguer Pasilan Ybanez (San Carlos City).
Also in the team are Jose Brian Langub Romo and Alfred Inaki Nacuna from Bukidnon and Alexis Joseph Juan from Davao.
From Luzon and National Capital Region area Jonah Vidal Suarez (Laguna) and NCR’s Luis Gabriel Sumera, Paolo Gabriel Alilam, Raphael Vincent Resuma and skipper Skie Doug Carranza.*NAB
