Disillusioned Van Persie is disaster for Arsenal[/color] Arsenal may have been shocked by the timing and content of Robin van Persie’s statement announcing he will not sign a new contract – but in reality it was a fear finally realised. Van Persie’s reluctance to commit his future to Arsenal and the failure of his meeting with manager Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis to successfully resolve the matter meant the end was always in sight. And while there was loose talk after the announcement that Van Persie and Arsenal could see out their remaining 12 months of contractual obligation, the tone of the 28-year-old’s message surely signals the end of his career at Emirates Stadium. He left little or no room for manoeuvre as he displayed an obvious lack of faith in Arsenal to take him where he wishes to go and win the trophies that have eluded the Gunners since 2005. “In this meeting,” he said, “it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal should move forward.” www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2012/07/disillusioned_van_persie_is_di.html

If I was van Persie, I would've stayed. This is even worse than Nasri lol.

Van Persie: I will not extend my contract at Arsenal
The Netherlands international has informed fans, through his official website, that he will not sign a new deal at the Emirates.
Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie has confirmed that he will not be signing a new contract at the club.
Van Persie's future has long been the subject of speculation, with the likes of Manchester City and Juventus rumored to be hoping to sign the striker, who has one year left to run on his current deal at the Emirates.
The 29-year-old has now informed fans through his official website that he will not be extending his stay in North London/.
"This is an update for the fans about my current situation," he Netherland international's statement read. "I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Gazidis and Mr. Wenger, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what’s really going on at the moment.
"As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Gazidis after the season. This was a meeting about the club’s future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all."
The striker went on to say that he and the management disagree on how Arsenal should move forward in trying to build a champion, and that the disagreements have made him decide not to extend his deal.
"I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days," he said. "Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.
"I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions."
The prolific forward went on to say that he has always given his all for the club and that he feels as though he has grown up at Arsenal.
"I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens," the statement says. "I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC. Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch.
"I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 8 years. As soon as Mr. Gazidis is back from his 2-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments."
The news is a bitter blow to Arsene Wenger, who stated on Tuesday that it was imperative to keep the PFA Player of the Year with Arsenal "at all costs."
A string of clubs across Europe are likely to be interested in signing the player, who netted 37 goals in all competitions last season.

^i read this a few days ago and its totally disheartening. arsenal could've raised or offered some more for robin to make him stay. after all he've done miracles last season, he deserves it! he stated his willingness to stay before, how his family love london etc. he will be a villain if he choose to play for another epl club you know how goonies booed nasri..... but then, we'll just have to RESPECT whatever decision he makes. though it will be hard he still have a year at the emirates, right?

very disappointed with RVP, ManU come on?! anyways, it's his loss there's a lot to look forward to this season. i hope he doesn't get those booes... i checked on giroud and santi on their friendly game earlier against uruguay and puerto rico respectively. well, he and santi is a good replacement for robin. santi's strike against puerto rico is deadly! replay on TVE @4pm ph time Arsenal vs. Sunderland @10pm - Starsports

RVP is ready to undergo medical exam for ManU. Deserve naman niya ng title yun ay kung magkakaron siya ng title sa ManU.
Edit: si Alex Song na partner ni RVP mukhang siya na susunod na aalis.

World class midfield is no longer world class now that Song's out lol. Arsenal is quickly becoming a feeder club sadly (especially to Barcelona)
