“Filipinos can maximize their tremendous potential to be part of this global sport”, said Smart Chief Wireless Advisor Orlando B. Vea. “We are committed to supporting the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), the FIFA-affiliated football governing body in the country and would like to see it grow beyond its current developmental stage. Play more, live more!” Vea added.
Part of the company’s contribution is the use of the InfoBoard solution to broadcast and receive general information, advisories and announcements about the organization. Football aficionados can likewise receive updates on football games, scores, news, and more through their mobile devices.
Smart is one of the prime supporters of football in the country, backing the national football team - the Philippine Azkals who recently made a historic third place finish in the AFC Challenge Cup.
FIFA Management Consultant Brendan Mewton said the organization is “very pleased to work with an organization that shares the same passion as we do in recognizing football worldwide”.
“With Smart’s unwavering and long-standing support in promoting Philippine football, more opportunities can be developed for those who are interested in the sport.” Mewton said.
