remember that his last scoring spell is with the Suzuki Cup qualifiers. its been several matches that he played the full 90 minutes without scoring and it's not for the lack of trying or scoring chances. there is even sequence on the semi-final 1st leg against Indonesia that he is through on goal but for no apparent reason, he just fell all by himself Isn't it enough chances for him? The 2nd leg against Mongolia should be the last straw. ;Dkaya nga it's put-up or shut-up! ;D

What's all the fuss about?!
Ian was fantastic against Mongolia.
His movement off the ball and ability to get to the end of passes is brilliant. A little bit more composure in front of the goal is needed maybe but other than that I think he's one of the best attacking options we've got at the moment.
He's not yet 30 so he's got a few more years to sharpen up.
Ian is an asset to the Azkals.

I too think he just needs that goal to break his slump then the pressure will be off and we'll see him at his old scoring ways.

2nd chance? I think He had 6,5 or 7 chances already. none of them converted. I say give the other striker a chance instead. Try to rotate.

Not too late for a change in attitude Ian... you can be a good player!
if you do know BERGKAMP of Netherlands/Arsenal and ROY KEANE of Ireland/Manchester United... you can do 40-70 yards strike just like they did before.
Just improve you attitude first and passing skills then it would be great!

al luz,
he's passing skills and receiving was not quite impressive for me. he has the potential in doing rebound strike or long strike ( but i guess not 70 yards and you're right!) lets say 40-50 yards if you've seen him playing against myanmar ( team before we faced indonesia ) if im not mistaken.

eldrick
you then have a very high standard for passing. against vietnam, the play where phil scored the second goal came from ian. its on you tube, superb pass from ian to chris, one touch to phil and a great goal, very similar to the one phil scored vs mongolia.

Team work counts!

;Dbut i think ian's forte is in the air(headers & cabezadas) i have'nt seen him strike a long shot , from the azkals' last few games. & i'm quite not sure if he'll still be effective if he would strike the ball from the range of 40 ft & above. ;D

Philippines ito hindi Europe.. at iilan lang yung mga talents natin dito. pero kung may kakilala ka na mas magaling pa kay Ian. pwede mo naman sabihin kay weiss... andaming nag try out lastime pero sinu parin yung ginamit nyang striker in the game against Mongolia?
