i understand the situation of Pasilan and Deyto. but speaking of the other local-based players, maybe some of them thinks that they don't have a chance to play for the country because few of the slots available are already reserved for the likes of Gener,Margarse and Araneta.

Ace Bright (@acebright) on Twitter gave some sort of statement on Twitter:
In one of our local camps last year, 3 local players we invited from a club left the camp without even informing the management.
So I guess we have to re think of inviting these players again?
Yes,a lot of local talents out there. But apart from the skills, attitude is also very important.
I am not a coach, I'm not a technical person but I guess it wouldn't be so hard for me to tell who deserves the call up.
I'm sorry but there are so many things that we need to know and consider. And I'm sorry that I have to defend the team.
...and yeah, commitment too. Most important.

And I gonna rehash the post of butchok from the PHI-MYA thread: Chatted online with one of Azkals' team insider about the inclusion of old hands in the roster. He said there are several reasons why Weiss kept them in the team.
First, they are experienced in international competitions. I have no comment with that.
Second, whenever Weiss calls for practices these Army and Air Force servicemen attended diligently knowing at any time they can be dropped from the pool. This can't be said to other national prospects who apparently no patience as when they sensed that they don't have a chance they just stopped attending practices. I reasoned out to him that these enlisted servicemen have undue advantage to other prospects as their job in Armed forces is just to play football and their commanders always let them respond to national duty even just practices with the Azkals. Some of other prospects have other jobs aside from playing football so it's difficult for them.
Third reason he cited that these servicemen knows their roles in the team. Even acted as ball and kits carriers of the team. That they don't moan and have no qualms being left out and keep in the bench. Well, what they can ask for travelling as tourist members of the team on a free air fares, availing free kits, shirts and shoes while getting salaries from the Armed Forces.
Fourth, that these servicemen have upto date travel documents in which the team coordinators found it handy to expedite and process visas and purchase tickets. While other local prospects he said apparently don't even have passport or travel documents and if they have some are expired. Well, the PFF or Azkals management should assist them in obtaining said documents. They managed it with Euro-based prospects I can't see a reason why they can't do it for local-based prospects.
And last reason he has given was keeping them in the team is like showing gratitude to these players who painstakingly sacrificed in years before the Azkals made their way to the top three years ago. Well, sentimentality is no room in football. Cite for example David Beckham who was snubbed last year by Team GB football in Olympics. He was snubbed despite him being instrumental of campaigning and briinging Olympics to London and despite the fact he showed interest to play for the Olympic team as his farewell to international football.
If we keep being sentimental in choosing old players to our national side it will bring negative repercussions to our young prospects as missing these call-ups it will stagnate their development.
I don't object these servicemen being called up for Azkals duty as long as they deserved in making the grade like Armyman Ed Sacapano.

"In one of our local camps last year, 3 local players we invited from a club left the camp without even informing the management."
While this is a sad reality, there are also realities that a lot of local players need to face why they are not able to commit to the National Team. Before anything else, they have to ensure that they earn enough for their families thus playing for the team takes second fiddle only. The problem may be is they did not inform the management about their unavailability but we need to know why it seems they were not able to open it up to the management. The question is what should PFF do to address this. It just so happen that these old "armed forces" players were given clearance to commit to the team thus its unfair to say that the upcoming local players are not as eager to be in the team.

Bumped this up again. Would the factors mentioned in this thread have affected the player selection to the NT? What do you think?
