Since PHI vs SIN will take place here on Nov 16, they should now renovate and upgrade this to FIFA standards. For Cebu based fans, update us for this thanks

CCSC field to undergo rehab soonTue. Sep. 11, 2012 By Cheska D. Geli | Sun Star Cebu THE Cebu City Sports Center Football field is scheduled to go through a rehabilitation period to prepare it for the Azkals friendly match against Singapore on Nov. 15. This means that for the period required by the Philippine Football Federation, the field will not be available for use in any tournament and even in practices. The pitch will undergo minor improvements such as cutting of the grass, leveling the field and putting fertilizer on the soil to make the grass greener. Cebu Football Association tournament head Glen Quisido said that once the works are started, the field will no longer be available for playing. RequirementPFF had required a 45-day rehabilitation period, ideal for the entire month of October until days leading to the friendly match. “We still have to agree on when to start, but the instruction of PFF is 45 days. We have to comply with that or we inform them of a new period,” said Quisido. But CCSC Manager Ricky Ballesteros said 30 days is enough. “These are just basic improvements to preserve the field for the game, which is part of our responsibility as host to come up with a good playing field,” said Ballesteros. He said the rainy weather is good for the field. However, he still maintains that the field is not playable under rainy conditions. Post-gameBallesteros also confirmed that the rehabilitation will only start after the Cebu Schools Athletic Founders Inc. Football Secondary Competition final games on Oct. 13. This has been affirmed by Cesafi Football Tournament manager Francis Ramirez, who said all games will be played in the sports center, even the tertiary championship games on Oct. 7 at the Aboitiz Field will now be in CCSC. The City Olympics on Nov. 8-12 will be booked at the University San Carlos Football Field in Talamban City so that it won’t disrupt the field’s rehabilitation. www.pinoyfootball.com/articles/11101206/CCSC-field-to-undergo-rehab-soon

newsinfo.inquirer.net/292962/ccsc-football-field-needs-improvementCCSC football field needs improvement’ By Mars G. Alison Cebu Daily News 9:53 am | Sunday, October 21st, 2012 Philippine Azkals coach Hans Michael Weiss said more work is needed on the football field of the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) ahead of the Nov. 15 international friendly match between the Philippine Azkals and the Singapore Lions. Weiss was in town yesterday to inspect the CCSC football field and to visit the football clinic organized by the Outstanding Youth for Education, Entrepreneurship & Arts-Minglanilla (O!YEEA) and handled by the Cebu Queen City United Football Club at the Minglanilla Central School. According to the Azkals coach, the field should be more even for the upcoming game put up by the Cebu Football Association (CFA). “The field needs to be more flat especially that we are looking into the team’s positioning. We want to play more ground football rather than the old style,†Weiss said. He said with four weeks to go before the match, there is still time to correct the evenness of the field. Weiss said that right now, the CCSC football field is similar to that of the Panaad field in Bacolod. “The location is okay, you have a good capacity for spectators, although we wish it were bigger.†Weiss said he doesn’t expect the field to be perfect but it should be in good level especially that this will gauge Cebu’s preparedness in hosting future international matches. Weiss also doesn’t seem to favor the carabao grass since most football players don’t like playing on it but he said the important things right now is to have a really flat pitch. Weiss also inspected the locker and shower rooms and was assured that the CFA will be working round the clock for the comfort of both teams. He pointed out the renovated Rizal Memorial Stadium as a good football field model for those wanting to put up a football field in other parts of the country. He said the lack of infrastructure in the country is a factor that’s keeping the team from the top 20 in Asian football. This month, the Azkals improved to No. 21 in the Asian Football Confederation list and No. 3 in the AFF rankings. Weiss said that we need to catch up in the infrastructure to be in the league of the above level teams. Meanwhile, Rico Navarro of the CFA, said that about 40 percent of the tickets were already sold since ticket sales was opened last Wednesday. Aside from online sales, the 40 percent include over-the-counter sales here in Cebu, Consolacion, Tarlac, Davao and SM Megamall in Manila. Navarro said there are still about 3,000 tickets available.

Cebu is really preparing for the Azkals' first game in that province Well for long term, hard work for today in the stadium may be an option for another Azkal game in the future. Cebuanos are very excited to see the Azkals action I hope Azkals won't disappoint them

Cebuanos are very excited to see the Azkals action I hope Azkals won't disappoint them Indeed its an all out support by the football community and the fans themselves. I know some companies who released sponsorship funds immediately despite it being not in their budget for the year. Here's hoping for a good game and even if they lose, at least have the Lions work for it. I don't know if they are done with the lights during the Nov holidays but from our room at Crown Regency, you can see how green the pitch was even at night.
