Thus we see the main crux of a problem in Philippine football, the structure of the sport in the grassroots level. This is where the PFF needs to next work on.
Looks like a bright spot with the U-14. Let's see what the U-19 is up to.

we should follow the Malaysian youth system, their U-23 are playing in S-League and U-19 in Malaysian Super League second division, this makes their youth squad strong with a good chemistry to each other

another defeat 9-0 this time, though we had a few chances . korea will be a challenge to keep away from the double digits . our coach is not to be blamed for this and anyway this is supposed to be a start for the team as a build up for next year. but i'm afraid it will be a very difficult job to bring this team to a competive level . i don't know what you guys have in actual football experience and knowledge but i can only say : look at the games, look at individual skills and positioning, look how players move and react. i don't envy the coach . i am sure if we could have had the same preparation last year for the SEA games, and with the players that were available at that time we could have had a much different result . don't compare these boys with te A-squad : without the foreignbased players it would not be much better.

Do you think it will be a 10 digit score for KOR against PHI? I hope not.
What do you think is the reason why they have bad performance?
A. ineffective coaching? B. inexperienced players? C. lack of cohesion? D. other answer.
Well, I still not see them play.
I do hope PFF has something to do with the training of our youth teams. Well so far U-14 is our best youth team

If they want to do well in the SEA games in 2013, they need to form a U-23 team as early as possible, to participate in the UFL 2nd division. I sort of expected this results, because unlike other countries we don't have regular youth competitions, to nurture their talent. The UFL should form a youth or reserve league as well, not only as a venue for the youth to develop, but to act as farm teams for their senior team.

Hey guys, any idea on what happened to those U22 prospects like James Rochlitz, Neil Patrick Ignacio, Islam Ahmed, Patrick Herget... They were here before right? I remembered they were training with the squad for a tournament before the SEA games that was cancelled. What happened to them? I believe only Jacques Van Bosh and Porteria got recalled from that squad.

The plan was/is to have more locals to grow with the U teams so in the future less reliance will be placed on the foreign based players. Actually there is still Jeff Christiaens, Angelo Verheye(though suspended by the team management). Manny Ott also, but he is too good not to put in the senior team. Personally, I know Pat Herget was injured around the same time frame as Reichelt(slightly later). He just recently became fit again and is playing for a new club. Take a look at his page in this site. I updated it with pics a few weeks back.

Thanks boss.. with what is happening to the u22 squad, it made me wonder what happened to those guys specially Ignacio who was a legit prospect playing for LA Galaxy and played against Real Madrid youth. I have high hopes for our youth squads and the results are just frustrating. I hope we don't get massacred against S. Korea..

bakdrap, you've been watching the matches, how is the team trying to play? Are they parking the bus or they are playing an open game? The videos posted here are just snippets and its hard to see the team's playing style from those. If they are parking the bus and lose by that large a scoreline, then something is horribly wrong and there is so much work to do. But if they have been playing an open game trying to score on the opposite end, then its pretty obvious why our team keeps getting ripped apart at the back.
My point here is what is the coach doing? Our team is obviously the weakest and is he playing with that in mind or he's set them out to play on level terms despite the disparity in quality?

This coaching staff doesn't seem to listen to there players and it was posted here before that Angelo Verheye or Marasigan was suspended or sent home after he gave some tactical advice to the coaches...
BTW Angelo Verheye was the top Scorer of the Philippines in the HBT Cup...
HBT cup game against Indonesia.. Indonesia beat Philippines 3 - 0 in this game...
