Ok guys there is a player that might be in this trip. Initials are N.S. Info is from Ace Bright. Might be a Filipino/UFL player now who is going to Chicago or another NEW foreign based player. Anyone have info? I heard something about a new player a couple of weeks ago which why I asked earlier if you have any ideas. I guess we all have to wait.

Younghusband brothers skip Azkals US training Published on Tuesday, 26 June 2012 00:00 Written by BONG PEDRALVEZ DUE to previous commitments, siblings Phil and James Younghusband are skipping the Philippine Azkals’ training camp on Aug. 8-25 in the United States that kicks off the team’s build-up for he Suzuki Cup later this year. “Due to our previous commitments we have informed the Philippine Football Federation that we have declined to attend the US training camp,” Phil said during a press launch yesterday announcing the celebrity goodwill match featuring him and his elder brother on Aug. 28 at the University of Makati. “But our commitment to the Philippine team remains very strong and will be for all major competitions of the Akzals,” added the Filipino-British striker. James explained they have already made plans in advance before they were informed of the US training camp last week. He said this included going back to England late next month to attend to family business involving the estate of their late father, Philip, and to undergo a training course with their former club, Chelsea, which has a tie-up with the Younghusband Football Academy. “Aside from attending to our father’s late estate, Phil and I have to attend a training course with Chelsea because of the agreement our academy earlier signed with Chelsea,” he said. Cathy Rivilla, the Younghusbands’ business manager, said immediately after the siblings end their stint with the Loyola Meralco Sparks in the UFL this week “they already have a busy schedule ahead they cannot back out off. They also have that trip in England that was planned way ahead.” Rivilla pleaded with the public not to be too harsh on the brothers when they miss some of the national team’s engagements “because, remember, the Younghusbands really have to work for a living since they no longer have parents and have to look their 11-year-old sister Kery. They are family breadwinners.” This is not the first time the popular soccer-playing brothers, who are regarded as the poster boys of Philippine football, have missed the Azkals’ stints. They also failed to see action in the Filipino booters’ international friendly against Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur last June 1 that ended in a 1-all draw. During the “Dream Match,” Phil and James will head opposing squads in the charity game whose beneficiary is the Tulay sa Don Bosco Foundation. The roster will come from a pool of 50 players, among them UFL standouts Nate Burkey, Anton del Rosario, and Freddy Gonzales, varsity players Mabanag, Shirmar Felongco and Patrick Deyto and football-loving celebrities Andrew Wolf and Daniel Matsunaga. www.malaya.com.ph/index.php/sports/7102-younghusband-brothers-skip-azkals-us-training

OK some good news(maybe) for the Azkal team heading to Chicago. Denis Wolf will be coming to the Philippines, arriving on Aug 1. Here's my thoughts on this; Maybe he will stay long enough to go w/ the team to the US. It doesn't look like he's going to play for any team in Germany either, maybe UFL?
Instead of dwelling about the Yh situation, lets hope that we can see some others show their stuff. Maybe Denis hits his stride(if he goes), maybe Pat Reichelt, or the surprise new player(N.S.?)

@snowbadua: PHILIPPINE AZKALS to cut short their US TRIP after receiving invitations to play in INDIA Relevant quote from bigsoccer: "Media sources in Maldives are saying that Philippines, Bahrain and Maldives have accepted their invitations to participate in the tournament. India are the hosts, of course. As I type this, they are saying that Syria and Jordan have also confirmed their participation, but there's nothing about this on the AIFF website. The tournament is scheduled to be staged from 23rd August to 2nd September. Invitations have also been sent to Cameroon, Nigeria, Zambia, as well as Thailand, Costa Rica and Malaysia." Apparently this is only a 5 team event so not all this invitees can participate, but it is possible that the PFF may have decided to accept the invitation as soon as they received it, and are now planning to cut short their stay in the US considering that this tournament will be against FIFA sides and not just clubs and therefore is a better preparation for the SEA games as well as an opportunity to gain FIFA ranking points. All these countries are much better sides than the US Virgin Islands which they were supposed to face during their US trip. My guess is that India now has to decide who among this countries who accepted their invitation will be allowed to participate in the tournament. I presume that they will want to avenge their defeat in the AFC Challenge Cup, so the Philippines should receive some consideration in that respect.

Its the Nehru Cup and we have accepted, the only thing now is if the first invitees are given preference then we might get bumped off. Next step, get invited to the Arab Cup!! Yes the Nehru Cup is the tournament that I was referring to above and it seems that we were among the first ones to accept the invitation to participate. India now has to decide who among this countries(4 sides) in this 5 nation tournament they will accept.

The training camp in USA was scheduled from August 10 to 25. Nehru Cup starts on August 23, and Philippines should be in India around August 20 so it has to be shortened from 15 to 10 days.

If it was up to me, during the US trip, I would just cut out the US Virgin Islands from their schedule and just play the Chicago Fire, but again their main priority is looking for FIFA ranking points, so that might not be possible. The last game was supposed to be the game against the USL side, so maybe that would be cancelled.

Well at least coming from the Chicago Fire and USVI friendlies, the Azkals will already be primed and ready for this tournament. It's really exciting times for the Philippine NT nowadays!
