The Malaysians are probably taking into account the absence of key players that they have experience with, that being the Younghusbands and Etheridge. I don't know if they've ever seen how much of a factor Schrock and Ott are. Rajagobal scouted our team against Kuwait though. I'm sure Wolf will be heavily marked. He scored against them the last time.

Still don't know if they scouted Mulders, Schrock, Ott etc since they are not in PHI and MAS first game. For sure Wolf will be marked as well as Angel Guirado who made a bicycle kick attempt goal hehe.

are we going to have a lone striker or we will play a 4-4-2 formation? knowing that Wolf will be a marked man, we need another striker that will step-up, the one that Malaysian coaching staff haven't yet scouted.

* Ray Jonsson is supposedly going to Malaysia, but don't quote me on that. If he wont be there, I'd hate for them to put an out of place player again, or worse Gener/Margarse. At least not against this powerhouse.
* We had excellent results with a lone striker(granted it was Phil who was on fire) and a plethora of superb midfielders, I think they will play with 5 mids again.
* We have one proven striker, that's Wolf, the rest are fringe players or untested(striker position). I wouldn't want to experiment against this team as Malaysia is fielding its best players and aren't playing around with its roster this time.

Finally a "semi-official(?)" roster. At least it came from respected soccer reporter Cedelf Tupas. for Malaysia friendly: GKs Muller,Sacapano DF:De Murga, Sabio, Gier, J. Guirado, Dorlas, Margarse MF: Caligdong, A. Guirado...
MF: Marwin Angeles, Ott, Schrock, Reichelt, Moy, De Jong, Bahadoran FW Mulders, Wolf, Araneta, ClarinoFinally!! Anyone want to post their favored lineup? My armchair general pick: Muller
de Murga-----Sabio-----Gier-----Dorlas
Ott-----Juani
Schrock-----Mulders-----Angel-----Chieffy
Wolf *from my twitter exchange w/ Cedelf, he put Mulders at FW because he thinks he's gonna partner w/ Wolf up front. Come to think of it, maybe Coach W will put 2 strikers as he really hasn't seen Wolf in action except against Malaysia and a handful of practice matches. BUT this would be going away from what they have been doing lately. I think Angel and Paul(his natural position) at Center Attacking Midfield. Your take?

Mulders listed as a forward? hmmmn...
looks pretty solid, except for that forward position with Clarino largely untested for matches of this magnitude and Araneta being Araneta, hopefully Wolf could sustain his workrate for the full 90.

Mulders is a CF/att mid i think i guess its alright to list him as a forward?

Mulders is a CF/att mid i think i guess its alright to list him as a forward? Thanks! I'm with Wiking's line-up (though he put 12) save for some changes. Muller de Murga-----Sabio-----Gier-----Juani Ott-----Mulders Schrock-----Angel-----Chieffy Wolf Dorlas to sub-in for Wolf if he tires or proves ineffective being that he's marked having been the goal scorer in our last match. Mulders would move to Angel's spot who will then take the forward position.

Since we are playing away this time, it would be ideal to draw a conservative formation. My take is 4-2-3-1: Should say that this would fit our players and the team as a whole, i think the formation emphasizes great D and attack at the same time. On paper i think Shrocky can dominate right wind or RB but i would rather put him with Juani doing the pivot and distributing the ball to our designated wingers and strikers. Malaysia will surely attack attack and attack at home, so guess we should play more on Defense. Focus on holding the ball more than doing desperate offense. Vitals are rhythm, control and coordination. Subs: Reichelt, Ott, Sacapano, DeJong, Bahadoran (Juani and Shrock can play the back if situation deemed it necessary) Your take guys?

this is my formation, the same with jpesarza's 4-2-3-1 formation. i prefer Ott over Dorlas with Ott's international experience help him to be in the first 11. Dorlas is still unproven and sometimes tend to overlap like Anton. i think Juani played as a LB in Racing Lermeno so i put him in this position they should control the ball possession and should stop the attacking game of the Malaysians. i have a feeling that Malaysia will win, they have a high percentage to score a goal. we don't have our first choice striker but i hope they will surprise the Malaysians

I like strikerbon's line-up, better balance I think, esp. in terms of defensive cover on the wings. I feel the Malaysians are going to take the game to our team as they are playing at home. Schroeck and Juani covering the flank where Chieffy's situated provides adequate cover that won't require Chieffy to play too deep and serve as an outlet for the counter (assuming Chieffy is 100% fit). With Wolff up top and Chieffy waiting by the wings, that will give the Malaysians something to think about if they try playing a high line.
Another thing, Ott and Schroeck are going to understand each other pretty well sharing the same language, this will be crucial as they can more easily coordinate who stays up and who stays down during transitions and counters. Though it's more likely Schroeck will be playing box to box more often than Ott who'll probably have to play a more traditional holding role in the middle.
Well, it's nice to play arm chair manager once in a while, hehe. Let's see what Coach Weiss has got in store for the Malaysians with the players he's got available to him.
Too bad I'm going to miss the live telecast and it looks like the replay is some time after, going to rely on you guys here for any match commentary and especially post-match commentary.
