Philippines played pretty scrappy but noticeably better than I've ever seen them. Definitely enough to keep Singapore uncomfortable. The Lions had some great opportunities which they missed due to miscommunication between teammates to the Azkals benefit. Etheridge was an imposing presence as a goalkeeper. Phil Younghusband showed he's a real threat, even by himself, against Singapore's defense but he had little help. This lead to a goalless half.
At the 64th minute a moment of chaos in both Singapore offense and Philippine defense left a striker from the Lions open for an easy header which sailed past Etheridge. PHI 0-1 SIN
Deep into injury time, the Azkals completely went offensive and James Younghusband got a stunning cross in from the left field which found Chris Greatwich who struck it into the goal. Only seconds later, the ref called full time. PHI 1 - 1 SIN

Wow, from match reports I've read, it seems our defense is starting to be cohesive and play well. That is good news! That was my biggest worry from the last game. And it's great to hear that Neil Etheridge was pretty imposing. Good result for our boys. Go Azkals!
Are there highlights on Youtube?

the azkals still lacks energy, hustle and passing, though their overall defense has improved greatly.

The Central Defense(Ali and Gier)looks weak in terms of speed and man marking. But the back line really give a robust challenge and it makes opponent think twice to do the same move coz they would really feel the impact. When Ali,Anton,Gier and Chris do ball fights you would see they really mean business. This is one reason why Singapore cannot play their "A" game. If they have the ball they know that an Azkal is not far away ready to snap their legs.hahaha.

I agree, and the midfield is pretty weak but probably done to strengthen the back line. Our offside trap got beaten pretty easily too. Looks like we're going defensive for the tournament, capitalizing on counter-attacks. Right strategy for what we've got. I like our hustle up and down the field. I love that we're an "unknown entity" in the grand tournament picture. Teams don't truly know how to take us on. Well, they do now. Better bring our "A" game in the next matches.
AFFSuzukiCup took down all their videos from YouTube, which is a shame. I wanted to post their highlight vid here.

Is it true Chiffy and Gier is hurt from the Singapore game and they are fit today? I think Mark Dirtkuth will get playing time today?

Philippines playing better against Vietnam than against Singapore but Vietnam seems a far stronger team than Singapore. Score still 0-0 though
