Name: James Leigh Gunn Location: Sydney, Australia Date of birth: December 24, 1980 Playing positions: Striker, Left/Right Midfielder Club: Frasier Park (New South Wales Super League, Australia) Caps: 6 Goals: 0 BioJames Leigh Gunn was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. His contribution to the national team started at the U-23 age level group when he contested in the qualifiers for the 2000 Summer Olympics. In this tournament, James was able to score a goal in a 2-2 draw with Nepal. Shortly after the Olympic qualifiers, Gunn was called up to the full national team for the 1999 Southeast Asian Games. He played in two of the Philippines' three matches during the tournament; against Myanmar and Laos. Gunn featured again for the Philippines during the 2000 Tiger Cup. He played in the first two of the Philippines' three matches but was only used as a substitute. It would be his last international appearance until 2006. In 2006, he called up again by the Philippines for the inaugural AFC Challenge Cup. Again only playing in two of the Philippines' three fixtures; against India and Afghanistan. They failed to advance from the group stage and the two appearances he made would be his last at international level. Can anyone clarify why Leigh Gunn wasn't named in the 23-man list who went to Germany for training camp? I remember Chad Gould mentioned in an article that he was hoping Leigh would make the cut because he deserved it.
My assumption is he had to go back to Sydney due to work obligations since he's managing his own business. He is the Director of Gunn Comms. Another possible reason is he's quite busy planning his wedding. I learned from his FB account that he's engaged.

From what ive heard from players who played with this guy, is that he isnt all that. I think thats the main reason for why he didnt make the cut.

Wiking
I think the Cebu team inquired, but his asking price was too much. He was making more from his regular job plus his part time football career than any offer that Cebu could afford. And considering that he isn't a topline player like the Younghusbands, they and others as well, didn't think he was worth his asking price.

UFL is always there for him if he wants it, especially with former Fraser Park coach David Perkovic now handling Kaya.
