He is a good player but I believe he has committed to the Panamanian national team. I remember him saying so at the MLS draft. However he is not yet cap tied so I will see if he shows any interest in joining the Azkals.

Good find ceedee and welcome to Usapang Football! Omphroy might be a decent player, he was picked by an MLS team after all. The Cal Bears website says he played as a forward, midfielder and defender. www.calbears.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/120910aaa.html"Omphroy, a San Francisco Bay Area native from Alameda, Calif., was one of Cal's most versatile players throughout his four years in Berkeley. He played as a forward in 2008, as a midfielder in 2009 and as Cal's right back in 2010. Last summer, he trained in the heat of Panama City with the Panamanian national team and then ended his Cal career in the snow in Akron, Ohio, on Dec. 4, as the Bears' season concluded in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinal match against the Zips. Omphroy collected a career-high six assists in 2010. "

He's just 21 yrs old and currently played for U-21 Panama, which means he's just on the road to Panama national team. Well, we'd better check him after 3-4 years if he's still eligible. BTW, i'm starting to feel that we're like hyenas or something. lol

Panama definitely is not the strongest side in their confederation and actually they have not yet qualified for WC either. But other than that, IN NO WAY comparable to us. I'm not a those ranking thing admirer but they're currently ranked at 68th in the FIFA ranking and 59th in ELO Ranking, 7th and 6th highest among 35 nations in their confederation respectively, and let me remind of you where we are placed in those rankings. 151th and 189th. They were runner-up at 2005, quarterfinalist at 2007 and 2009 edition of the continental cup, equivalent to Asia Cup which we're still just dreaming to join in. This is Panama national teams' match result since 2010 1-2 Chile 2-1 Venezuela 3-1 Venezuela 2-2 Costa Rica 3-0 Trinidad and Tobago 1-0 El Salvador 1-0 Peru 0-3 Cuba 2-0 Honduras 1-2 Honduras 2-0 Belize 2-0 Nicaragua 2-0 El Salvador 1-1 Costa Rica 0-0 El Salvador 0-1 Peru 2-0 Bolivia 10 wins 3 draws 4 loss, and the opponents are WAY stronger than the ones we're usually facing. Well, you may be right. Just talking to him right now wouldn't be a crime or anything and i'm not being against it. But at least you should know well about the other side if you want to head-hunt someone from them.

Soccer profile of Demitrius from his official website: www.demitriusomphroy.com/soccer.htmlI started playing soccer at the wee ages of 4 years old. My dad didn’t let me join a league at the time because he thought I was too young. So I naturally would kick an old soccer ball against the wall outside of my house until he finally allowed me to join the Alameda Soccer Club at age 5. I then went from there to play for the Bay Oaks, now known as East Bay United. As I got older I moved on to teams in San Francisco, SF Inter, and then the Santa Clara Ruckus. Throughout my years of different soccer clubs, I played for the U-15 through U-18 US National Teams. I was yet to be scouted by Jose Costa, a retired Portuguese International and FC Porto player, and scout at the time to trial with Sporting Clube de Portugal of Lisbon. From ages 17 to 18, I played for Sporting Lisbon Clube de Portugal Juniores. At age 18, I came back to the U.S. after having my first episode with Multiple Sclerosis, affecting the vision in my right eye, preventing me from playing the sport I love and signing my first professional contract. I then finished four years playing at the University of California Berkeley before being drafted into the MLS. At 21 years old, I was drafted 26th overall pick for Toronto FC in the second round of the 2011 MLS Super Draft, Toronto’s first pick in the Draft.

I messaged him last April and asked him if he's interested in playing for the Philippines and he said it would be a great opportunity. In my reply, I asked him if he knows Gino Pavone since they played in the same club during the same period. I even informed him that his teammate Julian de Guzman is part Filipino as well. But unfortunately, up until now he's not responding. I informed admin Louie about it and he said that he will have a word with Demitrius. I don't know what happened next. Perhaps admin Louie can enlighten us about it.
