PFF and Palami is not serious . They keep on announcing friendlies , then later they are cancelled.
Puerto Rico is not possible opponent , they play two Caribbean Cup matches in October

Ok. It might be another team then, but not Costa Rica or Canada. Arranging friendlies until they are finalized is not a easy thing for a lower ranked team like the Philippines. Besides I don't think they announced it officially. More like exploring the possibility. At least kudos to them for trying to arrange one also outside the AFC.

The Suzuki Cup draw, plus other good and bad PH football news It's been a mixed bag lately for Filipino football fans. But still plenty to look forward to as the Suzuki Cup looms by Bob Guerrero Bad news: the Azkal's Spain tour may not be pushing through. It was announced by Azkals boss Dan Palami a few weeks ago that the national team will be going to Spain for a training camp in October where they would play Costa Rica and Canada. A source close to the side revealed to me that this might not happen. Fortunately the team does have friendlies lined up. On September 1 they are scheduled to play North Korea in Beijing, after which they jet to Kyrgyzstan for another friendly on September 7. The Philippines will then host the Central Asians for a return leg onNovember 9. It is important to note, however, that the rematch with North Korea is not yet listed in the FIFA website, so it might be just a scrimmage and not an “A” international. One hopes that there will be other friendly matches in the lead-up, like the one against Perth Glory in Vigan, where the Philippines lost to the Australian club 2-0. They played valiantly and created chances, only allowing a second goal in late second half stoppage time, a fair performance with scores of starters missing. www.rappler.com/sports/by-sport/football/142488-suzuki-cup-draw-good-bad

Instead of Puerto Rico(busy at Caribbean Cup), they are apparently looking at Togo(ranked 108 at FIFA) and Bahrain for a possible friendly in October.

Azkals face Turkmenistan for Suzuki buildup By Olmin Leyba (The Philippine Star) | Updated August 16, 2016 - MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Azkals will kick off their buildup for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup with a home friendly against Turkmenistan on Sept. 2. According to Philippine Football federation general secretary Edwin Gastanes, the Turkmenistan Football Federation has accepted their invitation to play the Pinoy booters in the country. “They’ve already agreed in principle to play here and we’re just finalizing the details and securing permits for the international friendly,” Gastanes told The STAR last night. Gastanes said they are eyeing the Philippine Sports Stadium as venue for the friendly. “If it’s available, we’re looking at the Philippine Stadium so that the team will get used to playing there,” he said of the 25,000-seater Bulacan stadium, which will also be the main hub for the Suzuki Cup. The 119th ranked Turkmenistan is a familiar rival for the Azkals. They previously crossed paths in the 2012 Challenge Cup semis with the Turks winning, 2-1, in Nepal before the Pinoy booters struck back with a 2-0 victory in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives. After hosting Turkmenistan, the Azkals will fly to Kyrgyzstan for their scheduled Sept. 6 friendly. www.philstar.com/sports/2016/08/16/1614040/azkals-face-turkmenistan-suzuki-buildup?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterSo it looks like Turkmenistan instead of North Korea prior to the game against Kyrgyzstan.

Azkals Squad for Turkmenistan Friendly Announced football.com.ph
The Philippine Football Federation unveiled today, August 22, the 22-man squad for the upcoming friendly match against Turkmenistan on September 2, at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The friendly match against Turkmenistan will be the Azkals’ first match in their preparations for the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup, which the country will be hosting on November 19. Turkmenistan are ranked 119th in the world.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two sides. Turkmenistan came away with a 5-0 hammering in their first meeting in the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers. The second match saw Turkmenistan score twice in the dying minutes to win it, 2-1 in the 2012 Challenge Cup semifinals. The third match saw the Philippines claim a tight 1-0 win in the 2014 Challenge Cup Qualifiers. Their last meeting saw the Philippines knockout the Central Asian side in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup Group stage. Phil Younghusband and Patrick Reichelt found the back of the net for the Azkals in that game.
Overseas-based Azkals such as Neil Etheridge, Javier Patiño, Iain Ramsay, Daisuke Sato, and Luke Woodland have been called up for the friendly. However, it remains unclear whether Etheridge, Ramsay, Sato, and Woodland will be available for the Suzuki Cup since the tournament does not fall within the FIFA international match window. Patiño, on the other hand, might be available for the tournament as the Chinese Super League is scheduled to end on November 5.
Kaya FC’s Junior Muñoz is the newest inclusion to the squad. The defender has been a regular fixture for his club and has apparently impressed Azkals coach Thomas Dooley.
Holdovers on the squad are Amani Aguinaldo, Misagh Bahadoran, Kenshiro Daniels, Patrick Deyto, Daniel Gadia, Kevin Ingreso, Roland Muller, Manny Ott, Patrick Reichelt, Simone Rota, Stephan Schrock, Martin Steuble, Miguel Tanton, Dennis Villanueva, James Younghusband, and Phil Younghusband.
After the match against Turkmenistan the Azkals will face Kyrgyzstan on September 6 in Bishkek for another friendly. — CAL Still no news on the eligibilty of Global FC top dogs Nazari and Minegishi. Watched them play live in Singapore Cup they are a constant headache to their opponents. Not familiar with Junior Munoz though he is a defender is he the most likely replacement at LB in case Sato is not available for Suzuki Cup? You think guys Christaens deserve another call up?

Simone Rota will surely miss this friendly and most likely the other friendlies too. No forecast when he will be back from his ACL and PCL injuries and i doubt he will be match fit in a competitive level like the Suzuki Cup. Another quality defender is lost in a very bad timing.
