I guess we coudn't see the Azkals in Cebu on June 8 Busy June for Azkals By Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer 10:01 pm | Sunday, May 12th, 2013 CEBU CITY—National football coach Michael Weiss is adamant that the Azkals maximize the international break by playing three matches in June to keep themselves sharp as they prepare for the AFC Challenge Cup in the Maldives next year. So far, the Philippine Football Federation has only confirmed a friendly with Hong Kong on June 4 at Mongkok Stadium, with a clash against Indonesia in Jakarta on June 8 also in the works. The PFF is also planning to hold a friendly on June 12 possibly in this city, but several countries that have been invited, including Vietnam, have begged off. “I made my suggestions after discussing with the technical director Aris Caslib,” said Weiss, who is monitoring the progress of national players in the Global side seeing action in the AFC President’s Cup here, “I think we are unanimous at the opinion that we need three matches in June and I hope the federation and the people responsible in organizing it are moving in that direction.” The German coach also believes that it won’t be cost-effective for the Azkals to play just one match, especially if they will be bringing in players based in Europe for the match. “The question is if it’s worth bringing them (Europe-based) players to just one game,” Weiss said. “I think we should take the opportunity to have three games and promote the game of football more.” Weiss said Global’s participation in the AFC President’s Cup only augurs well for the Azkals’ Challenge Cup preparations as the likes of Patrick Reichelt, Jeffrey Christiaens, Misagh Bahadoran, Marwin Angeles, Jason de Jong, Carli de Murga and Juani Guirado are getting the opportunity to face tough opposition at the club level. With the likes of Stephan Schrock, Jerry Lucena and Dennis Cagara doubtful for the Challenge Cup next year since it comes at a time when there are matches in European leagues, Weiss said he may end up fielding the local-based players in the tournament. “We will be relying mostly on local players and these are the players we need to take care of,” said Weiss. “It (the tournament) is a good pressure situation and we’ll see how many of the players are ready for the national team.” Global was facing a do-or-die scenario against Dordoi Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan after losing to Khan Research Laboratories of Pakistan last Friday. KRL nailed a berth in the final round of the tournament, after drubbing Yeedzin of Bhtan, 8-0, yesterday at Cebu City Sports Complex. If we can't find opponents, Why not try to invite Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan? KGZ has game with Estonia on June 11. These are the home countries of clubs that made Global taste 2 losses. Dordoi is Global's counterpart for KGZ as 80% of KGZ national team is from Dordoi.
Pakistan is the only remaining South Asian country that we didn't face before. We also didn't met Kyrgyzstan before.

From: Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic (www.ffkr.kg) We are waiting for FilipinosWednesday, 15 May 2013 15:17 Philippine National Team will arrive in Bishkek for an international friendly. Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines participate in the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup next year. In addition to these teams and countries to the Maldives, which will host the final part of the AFC Challenge Cup in 2014, broke Laos, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Palestine, Turkmenistan. This friendly match on the soccer field is planned in order to prepare for the AFC Challenge Cup. The Philippines has not confirmed the exact date of arrival, but an agreement between the Football Federation of Kyrgyz Republic and the Philippines have been previously on June 8 this year. Philippines won the qualifying tournament AFC Challenge Cup 2014 Group E In the last three games won Turkmenistan (1-0), Cambodia (8-0) and Myanmar (1-0). In the FIFA rankings for May Philippines behind us by 2 points - 145 place. Recall the backbone of the national team of Kyrgyzstan, who plays for the football club "Dordoy" recently returned from the Philippines, where he participated in the qualifying tournament, the AFC President's Cup 2013 and was the winner. The last match of FC "Dordoy" at this tournament was just with the champions and tournament hosts - Philippine football team "Global", which also play a lot of players to the national team of the Philippines. The final score was 6-1 in our favor. "Dordoy" received a ticket to the final of the AFC President's Cup 2013 to be held in September this year. Hopefully, the players of our team will prove to be even better at home than on the road. Cheer for Kyrgyzstan! www.ffkr.kg/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3103%3Azhdem-filippincev&catid=2%3Anews&Itemid=7&lang=en

Looks like no home game for Philippines this June as they'll have Central Asian Trip on June 8 and 11 Philippine Football Federation general secretary Ed Gastanes confirmed the development to the Inquirer, even as the PFF is also close to sealing an agreement to play against Tajikistan on June 11.
Gastanes said the match with Tajikistan is also ideal as the country is just south of Kyrgyzstan and the national team would not need longer travel time between the two former Soviet Union states.Read more: sports.inquirer.net/100561/azkals-test-kyrgyzstan-booters-in-friendly#ixzz2TbNlep5nFollow us: @inquirerdotnet on Twitter | inquirerdotnet on Facebook

reports says that the friendly game between Malaysia and Singapore on June 4 and 7 have been cancelled. why not invite one of them perhaps a home and away friendly like what these two teams always do. i prefer Malaysia to come over here but they're already set to have a series of friendly in Australia. Thailand has only one friendly, against China on June 15. Vietnam refused to play against us but they don't have a game scheduled this June

June is fast approaching but Philippines has not yet inviting teams for June 8, 12, 14 and 18? More game means more fun and for our Euro-based players to enjoy more in their stay here I really hope we could now hear the news of their next game days before the HK Game. Well, most of Asian Teams have game for FIFA WCQ 4th Round and Asian Cup Qualifiers. Not suitable to play now is Chinese Taipei as PHI has standoff with Taiwan now. If they can't find, then play South Asian or Macau, Mongolia, Guam. But we'll be lucky we can catch a Middle East country for friendly this June Come on PFF invite teams now

At this point in time I really don't care if we play Guam, Macao, Laos and similar teams, we just need to play at the very least to get our U23ers some playing time! PFF should reach out to Taiwan, it'll show them that while they equate politics with sports(they disinvited us playing in their Jones Cup), we are open minded enough to let sports mean sports only. Really we need to play and play anyone we can get a hand on soon, as in NOW. If we only play HK in the June friendly windows, the match planners at PFF need to be fired to be replaced by someone who's sole job is to hunt for matches AND plan for contingencies(such as cancelled matches, etc).
