i agree with cj's suggestion of moderating with a light touch, to promote a more open discussion in the forum. i missed the days of more heated exchange of ideas.
and PLEASE, less of those copypasted articles. the forum is so full of them

I try to give respect to the writer or journalist (even though many of them do not deserve my respect if you've read my posts) by not cutting and pasting whole articles, and by providing the link.

I forgot to mention that in proboards I am having difficulty posting youtube videos and their hypertext links on the site esp. in the Images and videos section. Normally I either get the video itself like in bigsoccer or a hypertext link that people can use to connect directly to the youtube site. That didn't happen in this case and you have to copy and paste the address in order to view the video.
jp,
That is what we do when we post your filipinos abroad or other articles on bigsoccer.com. Either stellarboy or I just post the link and sometimes add a short paraphrase or two. I tried that here too for awhile but our other members requested that we post the whole article so I went back to that. I will try to encourage others to do as you have said, but it is ultimately their decision if they want to do this.

I observe you attempt to post links with "https:\\" on it and consequently it won't have an effect whether you just post it as is or put it between "[ youtube ]" tags. They are remedying it by their next version upgrade by the end of the year. Speaking of upgrade, Proboards will have a major revamp of their own during this version upgrade. They will start to integrate social media platforms into the website, an improved editor, customisable avatars, and a different layout scheme involving HTML 5. I am reminding Admin Louie and royg about this and I mean they desperately need to be informed of this. A public beta is being done right now and here's the link: v5.proboards.com

If copy pasting entire piece, then at least make it presentable and easy to read. (just some minor cosmetic editing, if you know what i mean)

if i may suggest, why not bundle all these copypasted articles in a single topic. a member can open the topic if he wants to read newspaper and magazine articles dedicated to the azkals.
let the AZKALS DISCUSSION thread be a discussion amongst the forum members, like when i open the latest post on the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup thread i'm expecting to read the views of a forum member about the tourney and not the opinion of a sport reporter of a major broadsheet.
take for example this MAJOR REVAMP thread, there is nothing copypasted here. every single comment came from a member, so reading its pages was like a relief ...if anybody noticed it!!

I actually like the "copy pasted" articles on certain sections of the website. For me, Usapang Football allows me to see all the latest new on the Azkals in just one website without having to go to different news website such as philstar or the inquirer. The articles also allow a greater amount of discussion started on the topic. I really think that if we put all the articles in just one section labeled "Azkals News" it would not allow the forums to discuss the articles as freely as the way they are now. Just look at the Nehru Cup thread. There were a lot of speculations concerning it. But different "copy pasted" articles allowed a wider range of discussions to happen and a final verdict. That's just my opinion.

I think this site could use a subforum where fan interactions and experiences are discussed. Topics like "what made you start following football?", "when did you first learn that our national team existed?", something like that, topics which don't necessarily fit in any current subforum. It could help us get to know each other better and learn from each other.

Why dont we put a "MATCH PRECIDTION TABLE" so that every mathc of the azkals and the UFL, we can post what our predicted scores would be. and also, why not letting the LIVE CHAT be there for good so that members who are online can interact easily.

Just a suggestion. If you guys decide to pick up some of the ideas posted here, I hope you start another thread and come up with a list with Things to be done. Make it just a bullet list where only one or the admins can post, and every TTD that's done, gets crossed out. Sort of a bucket list. :-)

Welcome back "Kaligo"!
#1 has been mentioned in a previous post by other posters. - How about a longer 15-20 "previous post" list?
- Lighter color scheme for the site?
- The "where the haters are silenced" logo should be done away with. We've gone past that. Maybe something more "welcoming".
- How about collecting our old game threads into 1 specific "Archived Game Thread" because information within, I think, should be saved instead of fading away. Ex. Azkals vs Malaysia Feb 29 2012 and so on...

Hello guys!
I'll be taking note of all you have been suggesting to us. I might act on those suggestions that can be achievable in a few days, as I will schedule another maintenance for this site at the week before the Paulino Alcantara Cup.
If you got any more questions, just send me a PM. Thanks a lot!

Welcome back, Admin Louie! As the second-in-command, I would like everyone to participate in contributing to what would be a much-anticipated major upgrade of Usapang Football later in the year. We in Usapang Football would like to establish itself as one of the premium sources of Pinoy football discussion, news and information. In this light, I, as the Forum Director, and as a self-confessed "geek," have well-contributed to the site by opening-up its social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, and developing the Usapang Football mobile application. These developments have been well-received by many of its followers, including those who are involved in this online forum. But things are still missing. We need to attract more visitors to this forum and help them be encouraged to help in the various topics being contributed here. Therefore, new strategies have to be developed such as the plans being laid out by our Admin here. I certainly agree that our site should change its domain name for it to attract more visitors and help establish the brand. Also, making our establishment as a source of Philippine football news and information will also be key to improve our coverage. In this way, our presence will more be felt by our followers. Admin Louie, royG and yours truly will work together in the major developments of the site. As an emerging software developer, I will certainly be willing to administer the web hosting and to contribute from the technical point of view of this online forum, including the databases, back-end applications and plugins, the social media pages, and the mobile application. I will certainly call for those who are skilled and willing to take part with us. Plus, I have proposed more long-term plans that will be laid our in the coming months. If you want to send more suggestions that you might not want it to be disclosed further in this board, you can send PMs to both Admin Louie and me. Cheers to all! Para sa Pilipinas Futbol! In my opinion, the tagline is just fine. Philippines is a basketball crazy nation and when the football started to become popular, a lot of Filipinos cannot still grab the idea of having the new sports and they started to say things not good for this forum members to read, it will just create turmoil within this forum site. So to avoid them, let's tell them being pessimist is not good for this community, although we want all to be friendly here but "friend begets friend" so let's not stain our healthy discussion by these negatives words from people who don't really have passion for football.
