got this from Singapore Lions FB page
Avramovic: What they (Singapore) are missing is more composure and patience.
Avramovic: We're are physically ready for Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos.
Avramovic: They (the Azkals) had good motivation. I was expecting the most from the brothers (Phil and James Younghusband)
Avramovic: Goalkeeper (Sacapano) had a good performance.
Avramovic: The game (here in Cebu) is more intense than last September.

Finally saw the complete replay of the game. The Penalty kick awarded to the Singaporean team was totally bogus.

just read this comment in interaktv:
"watched live from Abellana yesterday.
sorry RMSC and Panaad... yesterday had the best atmosphere for a football match. the Sinulog drum beats kept the crowd going (*boom* *boom* *boom* "HA!" *boom*boom*boom*boom*boom*boom "HA!"), Cebuano fans knew when to stand up and sit down, no fan girls or fan gays yelping during times when there's no need to get excited, the players and refs hear it from the crowd if they see something they don't like (even when Chieffy dove, they were actually screaming for him to quit the drama and stand up) all-in-all... a really educated crowd in terms of football.
hope the PFF will arrange more friendlies in Cebu in the future."

Philippines vs Singapore in Cebu [/img] Excellent results for the Azkals last tune up game before the much anticipated AFF Suzuki Cup. Another historic first against a long time Philippine foil is just what the doctor ordered as at the very least the players and coaches comes into the "Group of Death" in a positive and winning mindset, and not against minnows, mind you. Looking back and looking forward after Face Off Filed under Sports musings
By NIMROD NL QUIÑONES
In six hours, I’ll be teeing off for the November Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club, but I am still up and about and doing some writing, because I’m still wide awake after our first board meeting of the Cebu Football Association since the successful international friendly last week.
While we got a lot of pats in the back for the staging of Face Off, the board had to keep our feet firmly on the ground and took a look at where we could improve the next time.
Most of the problems, which I have identified since last week, were on security and that was under my watch. I do believe that there was really much to be desired, but then working with over a hundred volunteers, who might have various reasons to be there was quite a challenge.
Of course, I have several people to be thankful to like Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo and his chief of staff Sr. Supt. Orlando Ualat. There are also Sr. Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, director of the Cebu City Police Office and his operations head, Ch. Insp. Wildemar Tiu and Station 2 commander, Sr. Insp. Chuck Barandog.
Thanks also to the men of the Mandaue City Police Office, who helped us out when the Philippine Azkals arrived from Manila and dropped by the opening ceremonies of the Aboitiz Cup.
One of the challenges of security is to find men you can trust to take charge of various commands. Who would I trust the most? Of course my fellow members of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Cebu Squad, who like me, are also Certified Security Professionals.
Thanks to Marlon Mesina, Alex Orofeo, and Paul Bernard Dignadice, who without second thoughts acceded to me request that they form part of the security committee of the CFA a few months ago and also readily helped out in the venue security during the game.
I also had to look for a group of well-disciplined and dedicated volunteers, so I asked my long-time buddy and fellow judoka Atty. Vicente Fernandez II to send me some of his best students from the University of Cebu Gentle Fighters Judo Club.
Thanks also to Atty. Michelle Mendez-Palmares of Centurion Security Agency, who sent 15 guards to help us at the gate and to secure the dressing rooms of the two teams.
With very limited time to make all preparations, it was short of a miracle that there were no major incidents that day. Thank you Lord for Your blessings!
***
Our meeting, said CFA president Ricky Dakay, was not only to look back to where we failed, but also to look forward to the next time.
There were many lessons learned from that experience and we hope to put them to good use next year.
One of the biggest security concerns was clearing the area near the players, which became the haunt of some hangers-on and some people, who were over eager to see their favourite Azkals.
I know I had scolded lots of people there, but that was a job I was tasked to do. Next time, I will do the same if you insist in disobeying the rules. www.fullpointcebu.com/looking-back-and-looking-forward-after-face-off/
