I believe Transfermarkt is like Wikipedia wherein members may change players' details (I made an account for myself and there is an option to correct some of the players' details, which I haven't tried yet though). I think Ceroacero members may do the same in their website. Chances are, a pavoner (lol) wanted to fool us into believing that a Pinoy is playing in the French top league by making Maupay a Filipino. Oh no, we are pavoned!
How do they pronounce his surname in France by the way? If it is ma-oo-pay, then there is still a chance that he's Pinoy. But if it's mow-pie, then he must be French and let's forget about him.

Hello everyone. I live in France and I'm also following the ligue 1 and I can say that neal maupay is really really a good player. He is most of the time on the bench but also scored couples of goals for OGC Nice. Right now the team is having one of there best season for years. And neal has a significant impact. But like everyone said it will really be difficult to sign him under the philippin national team.

I don't think he is Filipino. The website that had the Philippine flag listed under his profile has changed it to France and Argentina(where his mother is from) and all the other publications incl. Wikipedia has done the same.

Hi I am a member of the German Transfermarket site and have talked with the personnel that makes corrections. As an Azkal fan of course I know where they have mistakes and such and have volunteered to submit corrections for them. Unfortunately since they have to deal with the entire soccer universe, changes are slow in coming so after a few weeks and very little corrections I stopped as I have no patience for work at a snails pace.

I guess this thread should be transferred to "ineligible".

Maybe to the garbage bag instead? Players in the ineligible section have Filipino blood in them, only that they can't play for us.

we can put him to ineligible. This kid is talented, I'm sure he would be great to be naturalized.
